because the stations are island platform, and trains arrive and depart from the sides. so before the station they split up and then after the station they join back again.

sadly this is the case with most stretches even for BBMP and other projects. historically they have been in prime locations in the city and now getting them to part land for road widening is really really difficult.

Simplex was a good company and good paced too. they just went bust financially and then projects got abandoned. Now on NCC. it is not as bad as them. Remember they had a 6 month no work due to the unfortunate accident and new supervisory means they are under heavy scrutiny. Many of hte piers have to be cast in stages to conform with the height restriction laid down and as if not enough its on ORR, so they really have a tough time to get men , machinery during the day time. Most important, they have numerous Split flyovers and Split underpasses and hence piling work is generally done with abundant caution, so as not to affect existing structures.

A gantry crane. This will help lifting U girders onto a transporter which will feed the launching girder. Since there are many split flyover and underpass in this stretch, crane launching is not feasible so LG has to be used.

R u sure. BLR infrastructure is literally like some village. Even the GDP per capita of delhi and mumbai is far better than BLR. Please make BLR village a city with good infra. Only reason its surviving is due to tech companies offices.

@@shreyass5664 I think for the first few months, it will be unpopular as the headway is going to be more like 30 min. It's not really helpful for office goers. Only after the late next year, we might see some real practical usage of the yellow line. Hopefully then can speed up the trainsets delivery.

Double decker is only in Phase 3 SJP-HBL line. In the current scope only cross over point they are doing and this where the held up was , along wth Gail gas shifting and tree permission in the defense land. with those cleared, should be done now.

@@Ash-jh3gh All piers are up on depot line, many portal beams cast and pier cap cast. Since this is tucked behind the tech park with difficulty in transporting U girders, they will use all i-giders and they are being cast there itself.

What is the lag in this stretch ? expect for delays due to tree permission, traffic permission for work front availability and some unchartered utility shifting, thigs are going fine. Finance of this line is fully tied and there is no delay due to that. compared to earlier phases this phase work is progressing at better pace. in fact during the sub-structure work there was immense pressure from our junta to stop working during night mostly between Marathahalli to Agara citing disturbance. and there is only so much the agencies can do when working on a busy road as ORR

Yes. It is 140. It was a typo from my side. Well progress to quantify, I would say decent. After the last year's incident, they are under scrutiny and have restrictions on height casting. so many of these piers in other packages are cast as whole whereas here has to be cast in 1 or 2 stages. Plus the split portal piers take a lot of time, first the cast upto mid beam , mid beam tying and then level 2 cast and finally top beam. Since they want to get the LG get going they are focusing here. Numbers cannot quantify these efforts. At many places they are doing piling , excavation and pile cap work which i have not included and is the most time consuming. While the pace may not be great as say SNC / NCC in Pkg 3 or 2. they are doing decent considering ORR traffic restrictions and work front availability from traffic police.

This is KPTCL responsibility. Till they convert this to an UG line and connect to the sub-station they will not dismantle this . Hopefully sooner.
