- Probably the first ever sub 5 minutes for SnS in this quest, really proud of this run.
Wasn't even attempting this run since I thought I wasn't recording and wanted to test my old strat, though it would've worked here I messed up clutching for 3rd wallbang due to me being at that ledge and forgot to heal that chip damage at the beginning thus losing the buff from peak performance if done right this might be a sub 4:30 run.

Forget speedrunning times, i love this run cause how you used the utilities really get me motivated to try more.
It's the opposite for me.
I think its a crutch and isn't as skillful with items.

@canadianbutt2759 I mean, one of SnS's core abilites is the ability to use items when unsheathed, so wouldnt these items, most of which are just buffs, basically be just a part of its moveset

Thanks, I'm proud of this run more than any runs I've done. I exclusively hunted monkey man in hopes of getting good times it's crazy to see that it's still the fastest for SnS. Though I always think sub 4'30" on him is a possibility with better luck, even in this run I made few mistakes and lot of hits didn't crit makes me wonder if sub 4 with SnS is a possibility.

How did you predict every time rajang would stop raging
I feel like SnS works well at punishing but is not as efficient as wailing on stunned/tripped enemies. The backhop works well to avoid the monster's attack and by the time you jump back in, the monster is going through their recovery frames. Am I right? This is coming from a non-SnS user and I'm just thankful that I have good SnS players to watch and observe.
In Iceborne's case SnS's perfect rush deals as much damage as full powered TCS combo and it is really great at dishing out ton of damage on stunned monsters but struggles on monsters that jump a lot, on tempered furious on the other hand you can't stagger him effectively unless he you can break parts and get topples but on other monsters you can see it excels at stun locking monsters. About backhops it depends on what attacks you're evading with it, sometimes monsters can chain attacks and an early backhop can put you in more trouble but it works great as a counter for certain attacks and you can backhop in any direction from a roll so you can extend it's combat efficiency in few cases too.
@@Harv-E Interesting. Did not know PR was that stronk. Is backhop the only way to initiate it? I was thinking like if a monster gets stunned/toppled, do you have an attack that doesn't require time "wasted" backhopping from a stunned enemy? Like if SnS had something like the Hammer's charged uppercut that launches them forward to start punishing the stun ASAP.
@@badtiming2208 other than backhop you can initiate PR from a slinger burst though backhop doesn't take that long you can do it instantaneously once you get used to it

@@badtiming2208 damn calling me expert is a disgrace to actual experts of the weapon I barely know how to play with the weapon is all I'm not that knowledgeable on all the ins and outs of the weapon but thanks for the visit much appreciated.
i play with KBM too. im a pc player all my life and the quickbinds for items (1 potion, 2 mega potion, 4 medicin 5 nullberry 6 ration,...) its just so good

Whats the little blue gauge at the top left corner?
That's 4 piece Velkhana set bonus, gives attack boost at full gauge and depletes per hit you get the gauge back by sheathing the weapon.
