Samsung has the ability to hide the cutout separately in any app you want. But yeah I prefer the sony approach except the long aspect ratio that shit is a dealbraker.
Sony, read this if you care about your customers. One thing that is great is that you are different from your competitors. Keeping the headphone jack and SD card reader is great, but getting rid if the LED indicator is just being like the others. Bring it back. Also, put the chargers back in the box. Stick with your strength of being unique. Do not follow the others and get rid of things like chargers and LED indicators. We appreciate those things. Also, I appreciate that you have kept the thin bezels instead of putting an ugly notch on the screen. Some don't like that, but I like that you haven't followed all the others there either. That is one more aspect that makes you unique. Stay unique.
The EU has requested that OEMs remove chargers from the box to avoid e-waste. This is a request, and if Sony ignored it they would be forced with legislation. There is a good reason OEMs using the PD charging protocol are all ditching chargers, to obey the EU and be eco-friendly. Your request is anti-green and will be ignored. I agree with the LED, though; that is a shame. Ditto the bezels; I do not have a nervous breakdown when I see a bezel, especially when it is for a reason.

Better camera and better speakers, and battery I guess. For the segment is alright I'd say (but I wish it had a better SoC this time around, bare minimum same as Nothing Phone (1)).

Hopefully this will be available in the USA. I need that crazy battery life + expandable storage. And that headphone jack is just icing on the cake! i have the last years model. This one doesnt look like an upgrade. 7% better battery life but its still the same chipset. i hope they change the chipset to a better one on the 6th version. 4k video would be nice as well.
how do you like yours? I need a lightweight phone with good battery and since the mkV failed to bring significantly better specs I'm considering to get last years's model instead...I don't care about the camera and gaming performance...
Honestly, needs a 7-series chip at that price. And I'd rather they have a single 1/1.3" main sensor with great video than three tiny ones without, would make it feel more worthy of the Sony name.
Just bought it, i don't like that it runs an animation on every app you open or close, makes it seem less snappy. But that aside it's a really nice phone, a bit longer than what i prefer as i come from sony XZ2 compact, regardless you can't go wrong with the 10 V.
Well I think it depends on what you have and what you want. If you already have 10 III or IV, you probably don't need to upgrade in the first place. And if you are looking for a phone where compact form, and headphone jack is a must, this and Asus Zenfone (which is twice the price) are basically your only options. Not to mention that Xperia has expandable storage, no notch or hole for camera and a great battery life (helped by "weaker" SoC that you won't notice if you are not playing games). Yes, upgrades are minor, but it's selling at basically the same price of 10 IV where I'm from so...
can you suggest what better options there are? 3.5mm jack and microSD are a must, though, otherwise it's not an alternative. my Galaxy S10 screen finally shattered after 4 years, so I'm sort of between this phone and the HTC U23 Pro. the Asus Zenfone 9 was on my list until I learned there's no microSD slot!
I would kill to have something again like the Xperia Mini Pro or Xperia Compact X but with much more storage. The Mini Pro had 1 GB, haha! So I had to upgrade after 5 years to the Compact X, fits so nicely in my hand, not too small, it was perfect.
@@Schmidteren My Mini Pro still works, but had to replace it in 2017 after 5,5 years due to obvious storage issues and not going past Android 3. The Compact X sadly gave up after just under 6 years of using it. I try to stretch as much life out of these things as I possibly can, lol.

I'm old fashioned, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Rectangular screen, compact design, stock Android, and OLED display. My problem with this one is the price. It is too expensive for what it is. Atleast $100 more than I can spend, and the price of Sony smartphones never go down.
Could be a very good phone for minimalists, but the price is way too high for what it is. The form factor and battery life leave it without rivals on the market though...

It's curious why they decided to go for the same SOC this year. Guess they figured that the people buying this device probably aren't the type that are going to care or even look at that spec.
Sony Smartphones is a business that has struggled for many years. It would have been shut down if it was not backed by Sony Inc. Maybe its days are numbered as even bigger players like OPPO are heading for rough seas.
For haters in comment, why this smartphone is probably secretly one of the best at 400 euro ? Because : - Snapdragon 695 + 5000 mah battery + 60hz display = literally THE BEST smartphone for battery life. - 159g, the lightest 400 euro smartphone - Photo processing doesn't add any sharpening like Samsung or Xiaomi, it's blurry for some pictures but it's natural and colors for pictures are nearly perfect ! Not ALL PEOPLE need these XiAoMi / pOcO smartphone that have ugly, bulky and heavy design with very bad camera and bad photo software processing which have A LOT of sharpening. Not ALL PEOPLE play with their smartphone at "games" lol, we have PC's and console for doing that (even if you want to play Honkai / Genshin, it's better on PC) This Sony is secretly a solid smartphone, of course the main cons is 60hz here, doesn't understand why there is no 90hz.
Is it worth to buy xperia 10v now? I am on a budget, so can't afford high range phones and battery life is what hooks me in this phone. But it has been one year since release and am worried that battery has been degraded somewhat by now where it is stored.
I honestly expected them to make some big improvements and make the Phone a bit wider too... Dissspointed. Because i want a phone with Sd slot and Headphones Jack
If the video quality was better I'd probably go for this phone. One thing I use my phone for is filming skateboarding clips and an action sport like that at only 30fps seems like a bad fit. My moto g power 2020 does 1080p 60 and I think 4k 30 and costs about half the price(I paid 200 for mine at least a few years back). Still on the hunt for a good smaller phone it seems. I also have mixed feelings on how long these sony phones are; to me that just would hurt pocketability and kind of defeats the purpose of a smaller phone to me. The Zenfone would be my go to if it wasn't for the price and I do prefer a microSD slot as well since I put mp3 music files for offline listening(don't do spotify/music streaming). The Fairphone is also something that lines up with my ideals for a phone(repair-ability), but they didn't include a headphone jack and I think the newest model is also too big for what I'm looking for. Oh well, my moto g power 2020 is still functional but it does get laggy often enough to be annoying.

Maybe the 778G, but that one still consumes a lot more battery. Well, maybe that one ot just the 7gen2 and the phone costs 700+.
This 10 series from Sony was always underwhelming with only using all Snapdragon 6xx series rather than 7xx. What a disappointment. Glad choose Samsung.
I really want to know who is buying the 10 series phones. Like what are the sales like? Clearly there are people buying these Sony "mid-range" devices despite the high prices. Otherwise Sony wouldn't be releasing 10 series phones every year.

camera specs on paper and "quality" are not everything... I had 10 III and I can say the camera is one of the worst things about 10 series phones, and it's all the app fault - it's slow to take photos, it's slow to even open the app, there is no photo/video/cinema pro app suite (and it's incompatible to sideload either), it struggles with multitasking... true midranger experience, just go with something else at this pricepoint or go wait for 5 series Xperia
I bought the Sony Xperia 10 iii back in 2020, my first Sony phone, and i absolutely LOVED IT. It broke in a drop, so I bought the never version Sony Experia 10 V without hesitation, and o' boy i was stupid. The new version Xperia 10 V is HORRIBLE to use for me in comparison of the old one. Apparantly my fingers has gone fat, and i often can't seem to click the edges of the screen. The phone does not register my inputs and seems slow. The new square case instead of round edges was fine at first, but i f***** hate it now, it is not the same slick phone. I can keep on ranting. I have repaired the old phone and is using it again. Have the newer version as a backup clone... Edit: The speakers make the back vibrate too, annoying when holding it..
I hope add human pictures in door and night to the review and comparation in the future because it's more important than taking pictures to tree or building

For haters in comment, why this smartphone is probably secretly one of the best at 400 euro ?
Because :
- Snapdragon 695 + 5000 mah battery + 60hz display = literally THE BEST smartphone for battery life.
- 159g, the lightest 400 euro smartphone

I don't think the 10 V is an upgrade over the Nord 2T, except when it comes to battery life.
Since the first inception of the Xperia 10, reviewers have been saying the same thing every year: stop using the snapdragon 6 series and use the 7 series instead!
I mean the only good 7 series in the 7gen2.
The 7gen1 isn't even better than the 695.
+15% performance for the pirce of 80% more power consumption) atleast the 7gen1 can do 4K but I wouldn't sacrifice half of my battery for it + having a phone consistently running hot.
Maybe the 778G, but that one still consumes a lot more battery.
Well, maybe that one ot just the 7gen2 and the phone costs 700+.

Definitely. The phone itself comes with some sweet custom security deals if you want to enhance your privacy even more than it usually does.
@@dimoslaros724 Sold my Xperia 10V. Performance is atrocious and literally almost unusable. To anyone reading this DO NOT BUY IT.
@@TechNomadUK1 what was so bad about performance?
@@virskovskiy7894 The chipset. In real life usage it's not fully optimized, apps load really slow , multitasking is poor, etc. I will avoid it like the plague. Get a mid-range Motorola or Samsung instead.
anyone in charge of sony is wishing sony out of smartphone market
Any overheating issue like Xperia 1 IV ? thanks for the information
Do you know if it has any overheating issues? Curious to hear your experience
@@pablobeneitez9608i have an Xperia 10 III so while it isn't the exact model, it's almost identical, so - it can get a little warm sometimes, but it's nowhere near any level of overheating. that said, this chip doesn't have much to overheat with in the first place
some error? first it is shown that the main camera is 48mp, then in the video it is 12mp?
Seems like a pretty cool phone with a lot of cool features aside from the underpowered soc
The best phone ever! This phone doesn't have any extra functions that drain the phone unlike Samsung. Samsung anyways have a cringey adverts for their midrange phones.
Just 1080p@30Hz? My old XA2 Plus had 1080p@60Hz and 4k@30Hz and there is not bad HDR.
If you take inflation into account it was similar price (around $250 5 years ago). Looks like I have to switch to something else, maybe Xperia 5?
I am still waiting for the Real XPERIA COMPACT, but not in 21:9 factor. I do not want to have a paddle in my pocket. This year I have to have change my old X Compact. I guess good byo Sony forever!
I guess Sony decided people who buy midrangers don't care for SoCs.... perhaps in Japan, but they are globally wrong.
Bearing in mind 2023 was a big leap for SOCs due to Samsung Fabs being sacked by Qualcomm, it was a disappointing decision by Sony and a deal-breaker for many.
