For those bothered by an episode of advertising a mower what’s the difference in principle between this and many episodes advertising the internal insulation bricks Illia has been doing or the episodes where they put together and used the woodworking machinery? I joined to see Illia and Marina tackle a big project, something that likely I will never do. This was 13 minutes explaining how they addressed one problem, mowing a field. Perfectly interesting. I’ll never buy one of the mowers cos I enjoy mowing but nice to see how they tackled the problem. Onto the next one.

Thanks for this guys. I have been considering automatic lawnmowers for a while but was always put off by burying cables etc.
I'll definitely look into this. My lawn has a bit of a slope, but if the Navimow can handle it, it will be a game changer for me.
We don't have a slope, but in specifications they say it can handle 30' slopes. Seeing how it copes with our bumpy field, I think it should handle the slopes quite well also.
I watch many videos where guys get gifted a new tractor or digging machine and they extol the item’s virtues the entire video. And get tons of views because it has to do with the owner’s lifestyle (farming, firewood making, homesteading etc). Either I’m interested or I go on to the next video, but unless they do it every video (unlikely), I consider it part of the channel.

I've seen versions of this lawnmower on an Australian yard/lawn TH-cam channel and while it's a different company, same principle. I think that for people that have mobility issues mowing their lawn, or are traveling and aren't home to do their regular maintenance, I think this is a great idea. The main thing would be to make sure the grass hasn't gotten too too long or that the weather isn't too terrible where it would make the grass too wet to cut. I really like how you got this to try out!
I haven't seen anyone mowing their lawn manually the last 15 years!
Just think, when I started mowing 55 years ago, I had to use one of those ( green energy) mowers, called a, reel mower that had steel wheels on it and boy was it hard to push. Everytime you would get a stick in it that you didn't see when you were picking up the sticks. Then it would stop suddenly and then the handle would hit you under the chin.

Yes yes yes!!! Daddy would always tell me, “Girl you gotta keep strong so if any boy gives you grief you can give em what for.” Wellll No boys gave me grief… they were to afraid of my Daddy 🥰 I have a newer model now that I use in the spring but it’s getting harder each year to push that bad boy around the yard 🥵
These were the hardest things to push! If the grass was to long it wouldn't cut through it. I remember my daddy hollering to bring it back. He got a file sharpened the blades and off me and my brother went, dull blades were a curse!!!

It's a neat tool. After struggling with an electric mower with a small 3m sq piece of grass, I'm making the switch to a robot friend! I like the idea of enjoying a glass of wine and watching someone else do the work :)

One of the best reviews I've yet to watch. You sold me on a Segway. I love the anti-theft accessory and will get it too. Will you build a hinged box-cover for the mower? I may try to convert an old fiberglass dog house into a cover. I bet your children will take an interest in mowing the lawn via app. 😄 👍👍👍
Thanks a lot! Probably eventually we will built smth. but they say it's waterproof and should be fine as it is now. Let's give the device some hard times testing :-) Kids called it Edward. So we have Edward now at home helping with one chore.
I'm also thinking about an enclosure. The "garage" sold by Segway is very expensive for being just a plastic cover. There are a couple "dog house" like products sold on Amazon. They use plastic drape-like strips for entry. You could look to those for design ideas including size. One person in the reviews noted that this Segway model works perfectly with the one advertised. Just be aware that something on your design might interfere with the mower -- whether it's a lost signal or even tapping buttons when the mower goes into/out of it.
I personally would like a fence gate but only one company has one for $500 (USD) and it won't work with our fence. But at this price, I may buy two --- one for the front yard and one for the back.

What a fantastic gift to review. Wow. I look forward to an update. I have been considering getting one but here in New Zealand 🇳🇿 they are very expensive, and I have always been afraid to purchase one. Please give us updates over the spring summer so that we can assess the results. I’m looking forward to seeing how the lawn responds with such a gentle mower.
This model stands out in my research for a mower the last year or so. Mine arrives tomorrow, hopefully. It's also the cheapest robotic lawnmower for its capabilities. I plan to use it and learn as much about it as I can. I'm sure a newer, cheaper, and much better mower will be on the market in a couple years. Newer mowers won't require satellite guidance, for example. They'll likely use camera-based guidance with object identification and orientation. There are several start-up companies that have demonstrated this to work pretty well. I can see the next Segway model doing the same. But it'll be a couple years.
It handles the bumpy field, so a proper lawn will be easy work for it.

For those that complain, go watch another channel. Part of TH-cam is gaining sponsors, this takes a little burden away. What a great little mower definitely for Illia a great thing so he doesnt need to mow and can concentrate on home. I love to mow and find it therapeutic but i dont have that much 😂

I don’t know why I'm surprised to see a robot mower when I've used a robot vacuum for years! Last time i had grass to mow I used a manual machine.
This is likely the best option for robotic lawnmowers today that don't require a buried perimeter wire. I purchased this one for the price and overall capabilities because I'm confident better mowers will appear in a couple more years.
I'm happy to see this model tested on an area that looks as rough and mixed-grass as our actual lawn. I'm receiving this model tomorrow and looking forward to playing with it in our fenced-in back yard (and already inclined to get a second one for the front lawn since we don't have an open path through our fence. Yours is the closest to what I'm expecting this weekend on our lawn. Nice review.
Anyway, I do see this model has been widely reviewed. Last year the market looked pretty novel for robotic lawnmowers without perimeter wires, and I think this model is currently the best. I hope it works out for a year or two when other models will have been tested and work better. There is a company that appears to be offering a multi-task lawn robot that cuts grass, blows snow, and is a leaf blower and can be used to pull a wagon around the property for use. Since it's very much a start-up concept, I'll happily wait. For our property in Buffalo, New York, where a few meters of snow isn't uncommon each year, we have a great rechargeable snow blower, but a single robotic system might be part of our near-future plans.
This is the first video of yours I've seen. I was wondering why you seem so familiar to me. Then I realized it's likely because of the title of your channel: "Old Belgian farm". My great grandparents were originally from Belgium and my grandparents, aunts and uncles are very much like both of you. I also grew up in a little "Dutch town" of Little Chute, Wisconsin, so the familiar heritage and personalities are great to see and hear.

His grass looks just like our actual lawn. I really didn't think the mower would navigate and cut it at all. :) I'll find out when this model is delivered to us this weekend.

The official Segway "garage" is just a plastic cover like a car-port. And it's $200 (USD)!? Not worth it. I'd rather build one or buy a dog house made for these.

Can the charging station be outside the whole year round/ or summer even when you get a lot of rain?
Yep, both mower and charging station are outside 24/7. They are waterproof. You just need to protect the power supply cable connection from water. So far, so good. We had quite some rains the last days and no errors/or other issues.
In winter they recommend to put it away if you don't mower, definitely when it's freezing temperatures.
Btw, the mower has rain sensor so it's stops working when it's raining.

@@DeHoeveOldBelgianFarm It's worth noting that the battery is not replaceable, but it has a 2 year warranty (at least for the i110N). I'm not expecting this to last more than a couple years anyway, and Li-ion batteries are expensive. I'm looking forward to cheaper, smaller batter technologies to hit the market soon. Probably within a year or two.

I am old school and like mowing, it looks the same as a Roomba and for my kind of lawn that tool would not be suitable, I live in the Caribbean 🙏🏽

How come you did not show the grass actually getting cut? I saw no grass cut during this clip.
This is a great time saver for your situation, and it would be even better for the elderly who are no longer physically able to maintain their yards, but the cost would be too high for someone living on a pension. I agree with @buzeyez3236 that you really should build it a little shelter. It's great!
