  • I was really surprised at how amazing these air fryer french fries came out in the air fryer oven. It exceeded my expectations by far as far as taste and texture. For those of you that love fried foods, now you can have a healthy meal and still enjoy fried tasting foods cooked in your airfryer. We are doing an entire air fryer recipes section on our channel, so expect new recipes to be going up regularly.

Everything I've cooked in this unit has come out great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB ! Everything tastes so good. Some of the recipes I've changed a little to improve the taste. For instance, for french fries which call for no oil, I spray them with olive oil and season them with salt and pepper. They come out great! It makes the best toast I have ever eaten. The recipe I use calls for lightly buttering both sides of the bread. It calls for cooking at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on one side and then 2 minutes on the other side. This time has a lot to do with the kind of bread you are using...so keep an eye on it. Also, the fans in this Ninja are a lot stronger than other air fryers. So lay a metal spoon or something on the bread to keep it from flying around. It's a little extra work to use your Ninja as a toaster but it is worth it!

Most libraries have halogen cook books in their cookery section, see which one you prefer and order on amazon, I have only just started using mine for baking. Very successful as I don't cook large amounts, just for 2 people. If you were going to cook cakes for more people electric oven MAY be cheaper, I don't know. Halogen advantage is you can easily see process. I have one with a fixed lid, which I think is easier as you don't need so much space ,, but do wear long oven gloves, NOT mittens.

There’s nothing wrong with using coconut oil/dripping/duck fat for frying. Cutting out saturated fat and substituting seed oils have led to the major health issues we are seeing today.

Questions out of curiosity only: Since the lid on the Big Boss gets really hot, is there a pad or something to sit it down on when you remove it; like an accessory item? Do you set it down on a cutting board? Several air fryers recommend their machines be 5" away from a cabinet or any wall. This makes them really a challenge if you already have limited space such as a buffet table to sit them on to use. Also, they present a challenge if all your counter space is below cabinets which are not in that 5" range from them. Does the Big Boss have any such issues? One last question is, do you have to wear oven mitts to remove your food items from the Big Boss? I have one on order and just trying to learn more before I get it. I enjoy your videos very much and thanks for sharing them. I tend to spray my mesh screen in my Omni Plus with coconut oil, as it really helps to keep the food items light. Example: Pop corn made in my Instant Pot Duo always tastes more flavorful with coconut oil used. Again, thanks.

First, this is not an air fryer, it's a Halogen oven and most come with a stand so that your lid stands on its edge, keeping things reasonably safe.

This cooks a bit dryer I believe than the bloiler ones. It seems to have a dryer and faster heat that simulates more of frying and it is able to give that outer crunch on a lot of foods.

What if you cook them for 10 minutes at 220 before spraying with oil and hitting them with the higher temps? That will soften up the middle while the higher temps give you the crunch. McDonald's does this with their french fries. They soften up the middle at lower temps and then freeze and ship to the stores. So when McDonald's employees plop a bunch of fries into the basket they've already been parboiled.

Dear Sir: I was watching your videos for the BigBoss and noticed you have the extended ring in the base of the oven. According to the instructions of my HO, you are not suppose to have the extended ring surrounding the glass bowl when you are using the oven because the glass should not be covered with anything while cooking. The glass bowl could crack because of the heat.

DIY .. Get a large metal wire sieve/ basket, & remove the extended metal wire handel that sticks out - fits nicely into the halogen oven, resting on dish or rack.
