  • I wouldn't want to compete against Joe in... anything. He is the founder of the wildly popular Spartan Race, which will host over 1 million participants this year. In this episode Joe digs into his incredible personal story and shares many of his life lessons learned along the way.

That is really great Joe, an awesome story. I have listened to you before on "Motiversity" too.

Principle 1: Commitment. Say what you're gonna do and do what you say.
Principle 2: Go above and beyond. Do more than what is asked or expected of you.
Principle 3: Never complain. Be thankful and respectful.
Principle 4: Choose your path and stick to it. No matter what anybody says.
    Principle 5: Delay gratification.
Principle 6: Have perseverance and persistence.
Principle 7: Learn upside downside decision making, also called situational analysis by the military.
Principle 8: Change your frame of reference and develop grit. It's important to go out of your comfort zone and do something (seemingly) so bad that it makes the rest of the day easy.
Principle 9: You gotta be passionate about what you do. Because if you're passionate, it's not work and you'll hustle through the difficulties.

Brilliant talk, Joe speaking nothing but common sense. The funny thing is we all know this, but we all have a filter that squashes the common sense to be replaced by excuses
