Hi Jimmy. You should ideally load test with a 12v bulb rather than just seeing if there is 12V. You may not have integrity in the wire which will show in the bulb lighting up but your multi meter will show 12v, falsely giving you reassurance the wiring is ok
Mercs are good for nox sensors , back order with no date 😂😂😂oh yeah and £500 + for the sensor from dealers , aftermarket ones don't work properly as we all know 😂😂, nice one Jimny

Correct mate.
The sensor was connected and therefore it was loaded to point it should have communication. No need for substitute load in this case.
