What could possibly happen if the tune is not as accurate? We couldn't get to the tune. It has no idle. Checked and tuned ignition, overhauled carb. Still bad. I have the same 4ac gear.
So, you guys seem to be doing all the things I am interested in, i have the stock 4ac, am picking up a 7AFE and wonder, am I better off to put the entire 7afe engine into the AE82, and carbing it? rather than making a 7ac. Yet if I do carb the 7AFE can the 4ac carb manifold fit? some say use a 4afc.. bit confused. Which carby manifold would I need and what other changes would the 7afe need to run? I am guessing use the 4ac dizzy ect.
The 4ac intake will not work on the af/afe as the port spacing is different. I dont think the port spacing/shape is the same between the 4af/afe head but you can compare the intake gaskets. Probably the easiest route if you have the complete 7afe would be to plug the injector bungs and cut off the plenum and use bike carbs. Then the rest of the motor isnt a hybrid of parts you have to keep track of lol
@@andrecousteils3729 with Electric Choke ? This conversion is really better than the original AISIN? I am very interested in making a conversion to weber, because the original AISIN already has me tired
@@JBRI94 I have the electric choke. It was worth it for me as i had planned on opening up the head and manifolds (with cam) to flow more air. For a small bump in power increase we had installed a mild cam on daves car and made ~10% gain on an otherwise stock 4ac.
@@andrecousteils3729 ok I understand...do you have any video of the engine idling? I have a 4A-F and I was planning to buy a new AISIN carb, but they are too expensive, and now I have the option of purchasing a new 32/36 DGEV, and cheaper. The conversion doesn't look difficult, but I don't know how it will work.
Carlos, it will not add power by itself, maybe with advance timing and high octane fuel but nothing noticable. This car has longer duration camshafts that required the cam gear to get valve timing back into spec.
More 4AF content. Super rare to see this kind of build documented. I'm in Texas and have been building my 88 Corolla 4AF for years now.
Thanks Adrian! Were working on it. Is you build posted anywhere?
@@lugnuts8167 I appreciate you responding back. Yeah it can be seen @AJNoble90 on IG. Shoot me a follow if your on there.
Hey, where in Texas? I mess specifically with the 4af as well.
@@adriangonzalez-tovar1574 DFW. if you have IG follow me @AJNoble90 and shoot me a message. Let's connect.
Adrian Noble I don’t have a ig 😕 However I’m a moderator of a page on Facebook called AE92 USA/CANADA. So we could probably connect on there
This is really helpful. All the way from South africa. Please post more of the 4 af. Also do a turbo install on this engine
hey good day where can I get the cam gear to buy
What Kind Of Carbyretor you put ing engine 4af

Rotate distributor wheel that engages with cam 180?

@@lugnuts8167 completely agree, thanks so much for the wise suggestion..
Would this cam gear fit a 4afe????
what carburator do you use?
Weber 32/36

Cameraman Dave: I just saw this now. Andre's is a weber. (32 36 seem like familiar numbers) I'll direct him to the comments.

Donde se puede comprar ese esprocket
is there a cam gear for 4AFE?
This may fit early 90-92 4afe with square tooth timing belt. It will not work with later 4afe round tooth timing belt.
What duration cams are you using ?
They are a 272 duration am made my Schneider Racing Cams
Where can I get that sprocket
This one of for a 4ac and from Techno Toy Tuning
Cool, that build you have is crazy! How much power does that thing make?
Torque app via GPS says 125 wheel or 150 estimated. th-cam.com/video/4-aeW2RiygA/w-d-xo.html
Does switching to adjustable cam gear can give some hp? I have a 4afe and planning to bump some power

Can you send me the link to that cam thanks!
