hey good day where can I get the cam gear to buy
Watch me get a community guidelines strike for calling myself an idiot.
This is really helpful. All the way from South africa. Please post more of the 4 af. Also do a turbo install on this engine
Please tell me what belt u used
Belt was from a 88-90 200sx 2.0. Should be b078 or tb078 square tooth, 3/4" wide and 98 teeth. You gotta use the 4ac/4af pulley on the crank
Thank you.
Donde se puede comprar ese esprocket
What could possibly happen if the tune is not as accurate? We couldn't get to the tune. It has no idle. Checked and tuned ignition, overhauled carb. Still bad. I have the same 4ac gear.
Rotate distributor wheel that engages with cam 180?
Andre: Simulator games? Dashboard? Photoshop? Speak English! Also, remind me i need a vent flapper doodle box.
Great job boys
Thanks Omar! It's great to hear from a fellow 4ac alum!
I don't remember this episode of Motorweek?
Pat was sick that day
Well done! Cool car!
Thanks!
I'm Looking forward to the next project out at the 2 floor shop. 👍
Why are we whispering all the time?
Hahaha
The taurus rejected the first transplant but #2 looks alot smoother. Clip @ the end got me lol
INCOMPLETE
I need youtubers to make complete videos!!!!! No torque specs!!! In MY OPINION CRAPPY VIDEO THANKS
Would this cam gear fit a 4afe????
is there a cam gear for 4AFE?
This may fit early 90-92 4afe with square tooth timing belt. It will not work with later 4afe round tooth timing belt.
What Kind Of Carbyretor you put ing engine 4af
Hello, For the idle, at what rpm are your settings at in both park and in gear?
So, you guys seem to be doing all the things I am interested in, i have the stock 4ac, am picking up a 7AFE and wonder, am I better off to put the entire 7afe engine into the AE82, and carbing it? rather than making a 7ac. Yet if I do carb the 7AFE can the 4ac carb manifold fit? some say use a 4afc.. bit confused. Which carby manifold would I need and what other changes would the 7afe need to run? I am guessing use the 4ac dizzy ect.
The 4ac intake will not work on the af/afe as the port spacing is different. I dont think the port spacing/shape is the same between the 4af/afe head but you can compare the intake gaskets. Probably the easiest route if you have the complete 7afe would be to plug the injector bungs and cut off the plenum and use bike carbs. Then the rest of the motor isnt a hybrid of parts you have to keep track of lol
@@lugnuts8167 completely agree, thanks so much for the wise suggestion..
What duration cams are you using ?
They are a 272 duration am made my Schneider Racing Cams
When I come down for a visit, I'm gonna get you gold 🥇
Cool, that build you have is crazy! How much power does that thing make?
Torque app via GPS says 125 wheel or 150 estimated. th-cam.com/video/4-aeW2RiygA/w-d-xo.html
Cool vid
Pretty Crafty!
Where can I get that sprocket

Where can I get that sprocket
This one of for a 4ac and from Techno Toy Tuning
Does switching to adjustable cam gear can give some hp? I have a 4afe and planning to bump some power
Carlos, it will not add power by itself, maybe with advance timing and high octane fuel but nothing noticable. This car has longer duration camshafts that required the cam gear to get valve timing back into spec.
What's the specs on the replacement camshaft ?

Can you help mme with the valve lash value I can't find it anywhere !!👏👏
For the 4ac: intake=0.008 exhaust=0.012

More 4AF content. Super rare to see this kind of build documented. I'm in Texas and have been building my 88 Corolla 4AF for years now.
Thanks Adrian! Were working on it. Is you build posted anywhere?
@@lugnuts8167 I appreciate you responding back. Yeah it can be seen @AJNoble90 on IG. Shoot me a follow if your on there.
Hey, where in Texas? I mess specifically with the 4af as well.

Thats neat stuff. Your avatar looks like you!
Chris fix? I was thinking BigClive.com or AvE since most of the time you only see their hands. Your videos are looking pretty good, keep it up!
Should do this again sometime lol
what carburator do you use?
Weber 32/36
@@andrecousteils3729 with Electric Choke ? This conversion is really better than the original AISIN? I am very interested in making a conversion to weber, because the original AISIN already has me tired
Cameraman Dave: I just saw this now. Andre's is a weber. (32 36 seem like familiar numbers) I'll direct him to the comments.
@@JBRI94 I have the electric choke. It was worth it for me as i had planned on opening up the head and manifolds (with cam) to flow more air. For a small bump in power increase we had installed a mild cam on daves car and made ~10% gain on an otherwise stock 4ac.
@@andrecousteils3729 ok I understand...do you have any video of the engine idling? I have a 4A-F and I was planning to buy a new AISIN carb, but they are too expensive, and now I have the option of purchasing a new 32/36 DGEV, and cheaper. The conversion doesn't look difficult, but I don't know how it will work.
That's a wild circuit!
Having so much fun!
*there was also nufinish on the surface when the clear wrinkled, so it may not have been the krylon.
Looking to do a 260 regrind as well. I see in the video you guys still use the stock valve springs. Is it necessary to upgrade to double valve springs? And is the camshaft lobe sound somewhat closer to stock, meaning not like a v8? Love the vids by the way!
For my build we opted out of the double springs for cost and considering where in the Rev range change can be felt, that they wouldn't have too massive an effect. Obviously if you want to get the most out of it the springs are recommended.
As for sound, the most noticeable and desirable change is at the exhaust. It's a more metallic and aggressive sound. It would pair nicely with a slightly more open exhaust setup.
Andre: We decided against the spring because Daves car is an auto, therefore he will not be exceeding the the peak rpm range of the 260 cam(5500 IIRC). The double valve spring would also decrease the low rpm efficiency of the valvetrain TLDR: No double springs, because Daves car is auto and hes not going to be anywhere near the rev limiter.
Thank you very much for the information. Mine is also an auto and am currently finishing up a 7ac motor (standard rebuild, rings, bearing, gaskets, arp rod bolts, and 7a hg) so I wanted to throw a little upgraded cam to compliment it. The most I go to rev range is 4.5k max because of midrange sweet spot 3.5-4K anything is wasted effort.
What’s the torque specs, and sequence for the cam caps, and rocker arm?
Haha! We're looking into personal mics because sound was a bit difficult this time.
Cam installation ASMR
Okay to review: lips-bottom. Use a jackstand
Any idea what kind of aftermarket camshafts that 4AF has?
Yes. One would send the stock camshafts to Schneider racing cams, they offer a variety of grinds for the C and F cams!
Hey @Tofu Garage, they are a 272 duration cam from Schneider racing cams. This required custom shims(shim over bucket) on the early FE Head. In hindsight, the later FE cams should be used as a core to avoid having to re-shim. -Andre
What camshafts and timing belt are you using?
Camshafts are regrinds from schneider racing, timing belt is from a 1988 Nissan Stanza 2.0L. Theres a build thread on 4acPowered under the your ride section.
@@markusbergh 272 grind. Always best to call and see what is recommended for your build route. Id have to dig up the cam card for more info
