Another amazing thing Free League does is Starter boxes. Even if I buy the Core book I always buy the starter box. I have all of Free League’s Starter boxes
I'm really looking forward to starting this game. Already had session zero. I dig your presentation here. You've studied the material throughly and the materials are beautiful to watch as you flip through. I hope I'll get my physical copies in time for Christmas! A little nitpick: I think the "zodiac" type icon sign that grants the character a talent isn't the icon they worship particularly. They prey to all the icons in turn in specific situation. What I think is fascinating with the Free League faction is that they seem more like a workers union with ship crews and dockworkers than anything. At the same time it brings together small entrepreneurs trying to make it in a world dominated by the huge corporate Consortium its military and mainstream media dominance. There's plenty of room to interpret a lot of it. Thanks again! Very cool review of a really cool game!
My group is absolutely loving the setting. The hard science with the mysticism have us hooked. I also enjoy the Arabian culture adapted to a futuristic society. Thanks for watching!

I started watching your Symbaroum video and nearly switched it off thinking "oh no this looks really amateur" but since then I have found myself watching all of your free league reviews and really enjoying them. You have a really charismatic presenting style and it would be great to see you do more stuff.
Well you are right about one thing. I am an amateur. I will certainly try and produce more content after my pending retirement. Although I'm in the home stretch, my career is pretty demanding. Balance that with family and game time, it's hard to find time for content. I appreciate your comment and viewership sir.
@@blandgaming6222 Would you run Last Voyage of the Ghazali and then jump into Lost Emissary? I think that's what you were saying in the video since Lost Emissary would be after for the timeline.
@@brockenwitch I would indeed. As a matter of fact, I would recommend you play several scenarios before doing the campaign, for 2 reasons: 1. it allows your players and their ship to gain a certain degree of infamy. This makes for a smooth transition tying them into the epic story arc of the campaign. 2. A lot of Free League campaigns are so epic that they literally change the setting. This one is no different. So let your player run around, explore, and works jobs with their ship before you hit them with a massive epic. My players played the starting scenario in the main book, Aram's Secret, The Dying Ship, a Dune inspired story arc on Dabaran, a John Wick inspired story against the Syndicate, and the Last Voyage of the Ghazili before finally starting the first of the Mercy of the Icons campaign.
When I first saw this book, got to admit it, didn't like the concept, mixing Arabian nights with sci fi? How does that work??? So left it, Sometime later i heard a track by Warriyo called Mortals, and the setting clicked (I'm very music orientated) Got the game, but made some changes 1) Use D8's instead of D6's (I don't like players being punished for trying, and the system is to harsh, that plus the D8 is the most "Arabic" of all the dice lol (it just helps it feel unique) 2) Remove the "subhuman" races, its a dumb idea, replaced them with robots (think Ergo Proxy robots, and that its illegal for a robot to pass for human) 3) The portal jump network was shut down many thousands of years before, the machine that closed of the system failed, and the portals reopened, allowing humans to return, they closed of that part of the portal network to stop something getting out, not to stop something coming in, but the new arrivals found the machine and repaired it, (they knew what it would do, but not why) and again it was used to close off the systems, 4) Add cthulhu mythos, (btw dude, forget about dumb videos, family first)
