AI will make viewbotting so disguised that it's ridiculous. You can create 50k different personas using AI, listening and typing related stuff to whats going on
Wait, so your genius argument is that a streamer can ruin an entire social media platform by being “a bit much”? I swear you kids just talk for the sake of talking.
Yeah pretty much this but worse. Stealth members found out his address, his mother's and father's and current and ex girl's addresses and essentially forced him to issue a formal apology (video still up) otherwise... Well you know 💯👹
The whole viewer count thing is honestly cache. Between browser caching, content delivery network caching, even ISPs have reverse proxies for certain websites, like Netflix and other popular streaming platforms to reduce overhead.
Insta and TikTok users paying $500 to rent luxury condos, cars and private jets for a few hours. They take 10 changes of clothes and a small camera setup. They take 1000 photos and short videos to make it look like they're living the high life. Now they have a year's worth of uploads which they disperse throughout the year whilst they visit food banks and slob around in dirty pyjamas drinking boxed wine.
3:30 …the thing is if it’s not illegal and it’s beneficial then other people are going to use it so then you might as well use it too or you’re basically handicapping yourself
0:58 editor did not understand the assignment. Obviously the Oblivion music he was referring to was the aggressive combat music when someone becomes hostile.
Twitch should have a "Random New Streamer" or "Random Low Viewer Stream" option on the homepage, and promote random streams on certain viewerships like sub 10, 100, 1000 this would help streamers.
The view-botting issue is very similar to the hacking issue on hcf Minecraft, because of view botting new streamers who aren't as big are practically forced into view botting to even have a chance. On HCF what killed the game mode and made it unplayable was the constant cheaters, everyone was cheating so you couldn't win without cheats.
Twitch does the same thing. People forget the crackdown in 2019 where top streamers got half of their followers removed cause they were bots. Amongst the names Xqc sodapoppin etc….
#2 was how someone in the apex world got caught (aside from being caught selling nba2k scripts in a forum) had 100s of viewers no chatters and their twitter never got a single like comment or retweet
i see alot of streamers on twitch aswell, when they just come online.. they have instantly 1500 viewers. you mean there are 1500 people waiting for them to come online? or
There's only 1 way to fix view botting. Not publicly showing the view count and stop automatically putting the streams with the most viewers at the top.
the fact that its illegal in america for 19 year olds to have flirts/chats/conversations with 16/17 year olds is insane. Maybe its not illegal but its bannable? I was 20 and I had a 17 year old gf. years ago, in EU thats totaly fine
5:39 This isn't always the case though. It can be an aggravating factor, but there's plenty of people who will have a relatively big twitch following, or other streaming site following, but then almost no following on twitter or youtube. These places are fundamentally separated. But the chances of you having a large twitter following if you're a larger streamer is higher, as compared to someone with a high sub count on youtube. But that's just a gut feeling I have. I just feel like I've seen more streamers use twitter as a means of communicating information to a community, or maybe a reddit space, as opposed to youtube, where you'll just make an announcement video or message, since streamers don't really have much content in terms of persistent videos like youtube does. TH-cam videos aren't subject to the same time sensitivity and scheduled and repeated notices about certain information that streamers are. This probably extends to streamers who stream on youtube too. people who watch streamers that stream on youtube are more likely to watch youtube in general, as opposed to streamers with followings on any other dedicated streaming content site.
6:12 So fx, someone like Hasan probably isn't viewbotting, but he doesn't have nearly as dedicated a fanbase as someone in the same field like Destiny, whose fans will boost the views of everything he appears in, and actively seek such content. Hasan features doesn't benefit from his large view count on twitch, because twitch viewers really don't translate into anything other than a large twitch viewcount, and maybe a large reddit presence. And this is the absolutely largest political streamer, so scale it down just a little bit for any average streamer, who doesn't stream about contentious topics with fanbases that aren't nearly as zealous and ideological as political fanbases, and I don't think you can accurately measure viewbotting with a lack of presence elsewhere. But this is only talking in relative terms. It's a different situation, if the difference is absolutely extreme. Like a 10k consistently viewed streamer does not have less than 10k followers on any other platform. anyone with 10k consistent viewers should at the very least have 10x that number of a following on any other given relevant platform, that they're posting anything else to.
this might sound like a wild idea but it make sense. kick should let streamer buy fake views, basically no need to bot urself or buy bots, u would just buy these view urs. kick model isn't based on ads they should treat views like all non ads model which basically bought by users, in model such that u pay to get better algorithm, this how freelance or upwork work. the best part is streamers are already doing so but it causing a lot of drama and fighting, its 3 birds in one stone.
"I refuse to take Kick seriously" yeah, because you never grew up, you are still stunlocked in your highschool drama years thinking you are 15 while almost 40.
8:15 its not a bug Asmon, it is ad break, people are using twitch ad block that replaces current player with new one that opens in a background which doubles the view count for that person. You can test it by forcing ad break, look at viewer count when you push that button
I'm not sure about the KSI shade. He's been on TH-cam for about as long as Asmon. He and the sidemen are so famous in the UK. You see it when they do their public challenge videos. That's not even taking into account subs from around the world. I think KSIs numbers are legit. Me, I'm in Australia. I remember he caused the police to get involved just walking in a mall when he was down here. Because of the crowd that turned up just knowing by following his socials.
Being a butthole on kick, is the kinda weird meta as when twitch had hottub streams, only its lasting longer cause twitch stopped that while kick let's it carry on
18:38 You want to watch paint dry? Well I have an amazing game for you! Paint drying simulator on steam. Its 99 cents and when on sale, 49 cents. It has multiple colors for you to watch paint dry. It lasts 6 hours per color and upon finishing watching a specific color dry, it puts a star on it which lets you know you already watched it dry. You can rewatch it though.
the number of twitch streamers that view bot is insane. I often see streamers with 3-5k "viewers" that have less chatters than a 150 viewer streamer. Sometimes they're sponsored and they're definitely running ads. Twitch doesn't want to implode the platform so they don't do anything about it, but it's a house of cards with 90% view and sub botting and so is kick. If Asmon wants to look into this, he only needs to look into his own org and the streamers around him. Some of them are too dumb to follow the how to bot and not get caught guidelines. I'm talking 5k viewers with 10 messages a minute. Put 5000 people all in the same place like an event, imagine it, that's a gigantic audience to be sitting silent.
It's so weird seeing Neon be big now bc i remember seeing him in a video from like 2k20 and he was a rage bait kid. it makes sense that this is the path he took from that point but still weird that he's gotten as much traction
Instead of buying bots, you can instead open multiple tabs of the stream on your computer. You then make each tab visible on your screen at the same time. Each of those tabs counts as a view, but only if they are on the screen and playing. It's an exploit that The Spiffing Brit found, and it definitely works on TH-cam.
When I streamed on twitch, I would use view bots. Just 2-4 bots, just to bump me up out of the 1-2 viewer section down on the bottom. When I got to 5 consistent viewers, I stopped it.
