Breakdown in Spain

We are on our second day out on our way home to the UK, mid afternoon and the bike starts misfiring, then quickly dropping onto one cylinder about 15 miles west of Palencia. Having temporarily lost, but been in touch with JB, I limp into town to seek out a hotel we have booked in the centre. Then after settling in, I set about checking the bike over to find out the cause of my woe in the hotel garage. The symptoms I picked-up as the bike failed, led me to think it may be a split carb diaphragm.
