I have really been looking forward to these videos, Guy; so many thanks! Lots of useful tips for long and not so long distance travelers on airheads, based on your VAST experience with them. Really appreciate all four of these videos. And maybe more, if coming.
    Cheers! :-)

We got in the r60 clutch today, the breather was blocked case full of crap now cleaned, mainseal ok, friction plate was paper thin material, and in tune with this video I gt a 6gal Habermann tank for it so I can get through mountains. Back on road tues RT gets a rest. The RT voltmeter on dash is pinning past 16v now after start but batt only getting 14.3v so that seems normal not the 16v plus the fritzy fritz meter on dash reads. Scary fault, my 441 spares after 1 million miles in 36 years is.... never had a car license.
Grey permatex, doubles as glue, gas tank sealer tube, points, condensor, 2M capacitor which I may fit to r60, nylock engine nuts and others essential, inflate can for punctures, patches and glue plus levers, 1ltr gas can, roll of bailing wire and cutters, bulbs, electrical tape wrapped on frame tube.

I saw that big gas tank. It was a lucky find.
I am surprised that the voltmeter is showing 16V. Usually they are reliable. Are you sure it is not over charging?
I’m sitting in a hotel restaurant in Germany as I respond to this. Took a ferry from the UK to Holland last night. I’m heading for Czech Republic to meet friends at a Moto Guzzi rally. After that I’ll turn north to Poland, then on to the Baltic states and maybe catch a ferry to Helsinki in Finland.

@@motophoenix5951 Wow a bit of an epic tour you are on enjoy! I made sure to check battery for charge at revs and 14.4v read while the dash gauge is pinned past 16v. It may be the gauge tension spring as the needle looks to be falling to end reading by gravity not juice. The batt terminal voltage may get a stand in volt meter till dash is fixed. Clutch installed by guy who built RT so was done in 4 days going in morning to ride it home 50kms. Will do vid of his Heinrich r69 sidecar bike to post.

@@motophoenix5951 Put up a good audio video and view of bike revving today in a lot. Those Bings are precision like the Amal seems once fully poked and cleaned no need for Mikunis. LOL! 441 assembly next,

Hi there! I'm loving your channel and videos. I'm looking for someone to talk to, to get some knowledge about an R100RS that looks to have electrical issues. And don't really know where to start. If you have the time and can facilitate me a please where I can contact you and maybe do some consultancy It would help me a great deal. Thanks upfront for the videos, I'm learning a lot about the bike.

    Hi,
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I am looking out for a r100 GS in the UK after getting fed up with modern bike electronics.
Can I ask what sort of money would be a fair price for one and how do you tell a peach from a lemon?
Any help with my search would be appreciated.
Thank you again for sharing with bmw air head novices like myself.😊

@@motophoenix5951 very grateful for your answer!
I assembled my r80gs with the same rear suspension you have and i'm not sure i've done well. At the connecting of the final drive where shall i put the spacer of the stock absorber? I could send you a photo how i assembled. I've put the spacer the inner side.

    • @motophoenix5951

@@davidtoth4002 on my R100GS PD there is a spacer between the shock absorber and the bevel box (inner side) and a thick washer between the shock absorber and nut.
If you are still not sure, try loosely assembling the shock absorber in place without the spacer, then gently tighten the top (frame) mounting bolt. If you can see a spacer size space between the shock absorber and bevel box at the bottom then that indicates a spacer is needed.
      Hope that helps.
