My saving days started on my paper round 😂, worked out okay for me though. Hopefully the Model Y should last you for a long time. The battery tech and free software updates which keep improving the car will probably mean it will and you won't need to get a new car for ages, plus you save all the money on gas!

Thank you for your insight and I can't wait to take delivery of mine in about 11 weeks from now.
You REALLY need to watch my garage video!!! Buying a raft of accessories for my model 3 was like buying furniture for my home 😁 I myself, even now, absolutely believe buying a new car is a really stupid financial decision, a huge waste of money, but you only live once, tomorrow isn't promised, and I didn't wanna regret never having had what's literally my dream car. For the first time in my life, the money wasn't important, and I've literally never felt better!! I bought a cheap car (under £500) years ago to practice machine polishing.
I'm same as you, I still know it's a waste of money, but like you said, you only live once, and as long as it doesn't make you compromise elsewhere, why not. I'm planning to keep it for ages, so hopefully not as much of a waste as it could be :)
Just put my order in and binge watching these videos :) Another note on the insurance point, try and set a date 23-25 days in the future for the best price, before and beyond that it increases, especially the later you leave it
Thanks for an excellent video. I am due to collect my model 3 in a little over a week. I have been a bit anxious as like you I am that guy that saved up and questioned if I can justify the cost. Truth is I need a car, haven't bought one in 18 years. I hope like you it becomes the best purchase ever. Many thanks.
I think it will be, honestly, the most I'd spent on a car was £12,000 and even then that was a lot for me to spend on a car. (Previously only been second hand £3,000), I'd upped my budget to a Golf GTE, as desperately wanted electric, then looked into the Tesla and realised the extras you got for the increase in price was a no brainer. So glad I did, I think I would have regretted the hybrid choice, and any other EV at the time. I'm planning to have my Model 3 for a long time, and I think the tech and the batteries are not going to age as much as other EVs
Collected my M3 yesterday and used some of your free miles to get home to Cornwall. Absolutely love the car. One interesting thing is that it has the external speaker fitted and makes a cool Spaceship sound when you drive really slowly :) It also came with Front mudflaps fitted, the rear ones were in the trunk so I guess I have to fit those myself.
Hi Mick, Glad you got home free of charge and thanks for using the link. I shall be using those miles to come to your part of the country as often as possible when the sun comes out. Only 4 days to go, hopefully the 3 pin plug should be fine to get you started. I have a friend that is using it daily and he does about 70 miles a day, its just easily to make use of the cheaper tariffs if they only run a short time overnight with a home charger

Hi, watched a couple of your videos so far and enjoying them. I’ve got my M3LR arriving in two weeks so very excited. Your point about not trawling all the forums and Facebook groups is spot on. I had started to do that and was getting very nervous about quality issues, damaged wheels, paint issues etc. I’ve decided to ignore the groups for a while until it arrives, good tip!
Hopefully it’s here now and problem free 👍🏻. Mine came with paint issues but Tesla fixed them good as new and I closed my garage door on it after 6 months anyway 🙄. What will be will be. It’s out of our control, just enjoy the moment
No problem, I just wish I had more time to make the videos, but this annoying thing I call a proper job gets in my way 😂. What a great start to the weekend for you!!! Hope it’s still going okay
The best advice I could add to this feature is to learn where the windscreen wiper controls are before you start your journey home. When I collected my M3LR in January of this year I had never even been in one let alone test driven it, then because of Covid restrictions my handover was limited to a small leaflet and a cheerful wave! £50k car driven away from Birmingham without any real clue what I was doing and the heavens opened- I strongly recommend that you watch a few basic how to videos before you collect ☺️, Andrew has done some great videos on this channel but I think there’s an opportunity to do a really basic lesson starting with opening the doors! See you around Guilsborough!
I was so worried when I left Birmingham I was going to put it in reverse or something and smash through the glass windows. But good advice! I do come out to Guilsborough way filming! You weren't the red model 3 that pipped a while back were you?
Awesome, someone to take the proud photo of you. Just get ready to intervene with autopilot, caught me off guard first time I used it, although has got much better :)
Mine is currently scheduled to arrive on the 2nd, and my delivery date is the 3rd. I originally selected the 30th (yesterday) as the date, because the website gave me that option, but then the local center called me and said the car is still in transit. Either way, I'm tired of delays, I'm tired of being stuck at home unable to do any nonessential driving (to preserve the value of my trade-in). But I've got less than 3 days left, so it's almost over. As far as charging...I don't drive that much, and I have a garage at my apartment, so I'm just going to keep it plugged in with the L1 charger and that will more than cover my needs.
So looking at todays date!!! Hopefully you are now in the driving seat and you don't have to worry about trade in values anymore. If you don't drive much, the L1 charger will probably do, and if it doesn't, you can look into it later. My garage didn't have the correct wiring to get the full 7.2kW, so stuck with 3.7, but it's done fine, so you'll have probably saved a good amount by sticking with the L1. Hope you are enjoying it
@@TeslaTorque Yep! I just got home from picking it up. I'm doing the ceramic wax thing on it now. I'm just using the L1 charger that came with it, I can't add a 240V outlet to the garage (apartment complex). But I only drive 10-15 miles/week normally, 30 max if I go a lot of places, so L1 is more than enough for me.
Thanks so much for your video - so bizarre to see my name on he referrals list!! Wish there was an equivalent over here in Spain, but hey ho lol. We collected our car last Friday & we absolutely love it. It’s proper space age stuff! I went for a Tesla wall charger, but it being Spain, I am still waiting for Endesa to come and commission it. It’s tricky as we live in an apartment block & have bought the first EV in the community - nobody had a clue what to do lol. Thanks again - love your clear and concise videos - great job 👍
Hey Don, appreciate you using it! Thought it was only fair to give some love back! I think that charger is a challenge for a lot of people are going to face in apartments, but hopefully as people like yourself pave the way and show it can be done, then more will jump on board. Glad you are enjoying it
Yep, although I've never had any issues with the range of the SR+, it would be nice to think of driving crazy distance without stopping. Like I did a trip to Bournemouth and back, and it was 280 mile round trip. In reality, I'd always need to stop for the toilet anyway, as I generally need to stop after a few hours if I'm drinking coffee. But it would be nice that if I was in a situation where there wasn't a charger where I was stopping, that I could make it, or if my bladder wasn't making me stop I could carry on. Which the long range could do that distance easily on a day. In terms of the audio, I think Tesla made a mistake and installed the premium audio in my Model 3, I can't notice the difference between mine and the Long Range my friend has got, but maybe I'm getting old and the hearing is going 😂. If you can't afford a Long range, don't stretch to it, as the SR+ now has a range of 278 which is pretty decent, and Superchargers are popping up everywhere, but if you can it will mean you will never worry about range even on long trips!
Today is the day! Just remember to not press down too hard on the accelerator until you are ready to be launched into outer space. The performance acceleration is insane.
Ooooo, that will probably have better battery tech as well by then! Exciting times - so much space for road trips. Where are you from? I'm guessing not the UK, as my accent is pretty normal I'd say for round here, but glad you like it either way 😁
Yep, you will need the insurance to start when you pick it up, as far as I remember they don't do 7 day insurance/drive home cover so get it started at 00:01 the day of the pick up, enjoy that delightful Tesla Pie
I been working at my first job for 6 weeks and l don't work there rn bc it was a summer job and l make at least 10.50 an hour. I was wondering what better Job will get me a Tesla Model X for next year? Having a Job that makes 20$, 30$, 40$, or 50%?! Bc l want a Tesla already l have never drove a supercar before ever in my life and am only 18!
That good they have given you that time frame, fingers crossed they should hit it. Word of advice, make sure your head is against the head rest before pressing the pedal flat in the performance 😂 It's insane acceleration
@@TeslaTorque I did an overnight test drive already couldn’t wait to try it out 😂😂. They just delayed my delivery again, it now says middle to end of June.
The Enyaq seems a pretty decent price for the range you can get with it. In my job we drive Skodas, and they hold up maintenance wise pretty well (Combustion ones, not electric). Bad times about your experience with Tesla, but I suppose all manufacturers have quality issues from time to time, thanks for watching the channel still 👍
I always try to squeeze some pun in somewhere 😜, my best set was my charging video, I gave AMPle information to viewers about charging up their electric car, or as some call it, a Volts Wagon.
Not gunna lie, I'm not a fan of the term either, seems to be complicating something that doesn't need to be, but seems to be the terminology, what should I replace it with? Combustion cars just sounds a bit of a mouth full?
@@TeslaTorque UK/IE are the only Tesla RHD markets near Berlin, doesn't make sense to install all the extra gear needed to serve two markets that can be served cheaper from China which is closer to the rest of the RHD markets like NZ, AU, Japan, Singapore, HK etc. That's why you still see M3's coming from the US for mainland EU and all the M3's for UK/IE come from China now. The 10% import tax and shipping costs are countered in the lower cost of production from China.
Good point, still never sure why we are the only ones in this area that drive on the right hand side. I just figured long term would make sense to put the capital cost up front rather than ongoing shipping costs, but I suppose that might be a phase added at a later date. There is talk of a UK factory being built here, but can't see that happening for a while. I would have thought we would have got the Model Y by now though if that was the case, although don't think its been made RHD yet in China either.
@@TeslaTorque Model Y demand in China and the US is still very high, there's a decent chance that because the UK/IE will most likely be supplied by China that as soon as they have spare capacity they'll start shipping over here before Berlin starts volume deliveries (which could be more than a year out if they are still waiting for the new battery). It's very annoying being having two different markets next to each other. Right now the M3 LR coming to mainland Europe is from the US with the new 82 kWh battery, however, the UK/IE ones coming from China are coming with the old 75 kWh battery. So we often get the short end of the stick. The cost of shipping from China is very low, only around £300-500 a car depending on volume which is likely cheaper than shipping from Berlin on a truck. Once you add in the 30% cheaper cost of production, it just makes more sence.
@@Ineverreadreplies It's true, it's not that hard but Tesla is all about bringing costs down. It doesn't make sense to have suppliers for Berlin make more configurations in small amounts. Once you add up that compared to Berlin, production is 30-50% cheaper, cost of shipping from China is cheaper than trucking from Berlin and it's only a 10% import tax, it doesn't make any business sense to supply from Berlin. Also worth pointing out Berlin won't hit volume production for a long time, so model Y's will be imported from China long before large scale production in Berlin. Berlin is more about the 25k eur car, that's what will sell in volume in the EU.
Might be worth checking with Tesla about the floor mats, some people are saying they Standard Range Plus now comes with them, although on the website it still stays there are not included?

My delivery date is still a date range from may to June. How long did you have this before you got an actual date?
@@travishorrell I got my firm delivery date 1 month prior i.e. 25 Apr for 25 May delivery.
Thats quite a good way in advance, mine was just 10 days, so hopefully it will be somewhere close to Mole Patrols
Thank mine arrives in 7 days, interesting hing on the home charger is the DNO want a 3rd part o do a maximum load check at my house, fine but this has been in delay so something I was not expecting - order your stuff early.
Only 4 days to go, hopefully the 3 pin plug should be fine to get you started. I have a friend that is using it daily and he does about 70 miles a day, its just easily to make use of the cheaper tariffs if they only run a short time overnight with a home charger
@@TeslaTorque thanks that is good to know as the following week off to Devon - granny charger / Supercharger will be in full operation
Awesome video! Mine arrives in two weeks and I can not wait!! Super helpful videos thank you!
Hi Eric, thanks for the compliment, always nice to hear stuff like that, as they take ages to make, along with the fact I work full time hours on completely unrelated stuff. Not long to wait now....enjoy it!
@@TeslaTorque thanks! Would love to know what accessories you picked up to enhance your Tesla!?! And thanks again for fitting this in between your day job!
Mine arrived Friday, thanks for your help - good tips. Keep em coming !
Picking mine up next month so thanks for this video.
No probs, hopefully you have most of the things sorted by now. Are you managing to take a friend with you?
@@TeslaTorque yeah got pretty much everything done that I can do up to now anyway. My partner is coming with me.
Awesome, someone to take the proud photo of you. Just get ready to intervene with autopilot, caught me off guard first time I used it, although has got much better :)
@@TeslaTorque thanks for the advice! Definitely will do!
These are great tips! Can’t wait to pick up my Model Y in just a few days (hopefully)!
Good luck, can't wait until it arrives in the UK to see what its like
Hitting order this week hopefully 🙏 great video, thanks for the advice.
Great video, thanks from Australia! Just ordered a red model y!
Nice prologue.. you stuck to it to the very end, and congrats 👌🏾
👍
Glad you are enjoying it
Hoping to get a Tesla m3 next year these videos are really helpful 👍🏻
No problem, glad they are helping out :) Maybe some new battery tech will be in your Model 3 by next year
This is my first brand new car! Do they give you a pre assigned registration plate, or let you chose from options?
Do u regret not buying the LR model as regards the range and is the SR+ audio any good
Yep, although I've never had any issues with the range of the SR+, it would be nice to think of driving crazy distance without stopping.
Get my m3p on Thursday 2019 with 9k MLS.
Today is the day! Just remember to not press down too hard on the accelerator until you are ready to be launched into outer space. The performance acceleration is insane.
Hi Andrew
I used your referral link. Tesla don't seem to have applied my free miles. Did you get yours?
Great video! I love your accent. My Black model X long range is coming in January 2022 (hopefully) 😉
Ooooo, that will probably have better battery tech as well by then! Exciting times - so much space for road trips. Where are you from? I'm guessing not the UK, as my accent is pretty normal I'd say for round here, but glad you like it either way 😁
Since ordering, I've realised how differently Tesla do things. Did you insure it on the day? This is the final peice of the Tesla pie!
Yep, you will need the insurance to start when you pick it up, as far as I remember they don't do 7 day insurance/drive home cover so get it started at 00:01 the day of the pick up, enjoy that delightful Tesla Pie
Great vid, U.K. Tesla Model 3 depreciation seems to be very low at the min.👍
It does which is good, although no plans of selling anytime soon....love it too much :)
Confirmed date 17th june for my M3P. Ordered in December. Also confirmed it will be the MIC version
That seems a really long wait time? How come did you order a Tow bar or something? Good its finally coming though
@@TeslaTorque I think it was because they changed over production factory to china. It was March then April and then May and now June. Torture 🤣
Insurance price is definitely something I would want to know. Hopefully Tesla Insurance is cheaper through Tesla 🙌🏼
Mine was £480 through Churchill, but that was almost a year ago now
Waiting on my M3P estimated delivery is may 24th to june 13th ⏰ ⏰
That good they have given you that time frame, fingers crossed they should hit it. Word of advice, make sure your head is against the head rest before pressing the pedal flat in the performance 😂 It's insane acceleration
@@TeslaTorque I did an overnight test drive already couldn’t wait to try it out 😂😂. They just delayed my delivery again, it now says middle to end of June.
Oh, typical, normally once you get a specific day it won't shift, but when its a range, its open to movement from what I've found/heard
The question is when will it arrive? The wait never gets over 😏
Tell me about it….I was tracking ships 😂
All good tips. My SR+ goes to a new home tomorrow though. Goodbye Tesla 👋
Awe, shame, how come? where’s it going and what are you getting in it’s place?
@@TeslaTorque too many build quality and software issues. Not sure yet, possibly škoda enyaq
The Enyaq seems a pretty decent price for the range you can get with it. In my job we drive Skodas, and they hold up maintenance wise pretty well (Combustion ones, not electric). Bad times about your experience with Tesla, but I suppose all manufacturers have quality issues from time to time, thanks for watching the channel still 👍
@@TeslaTorque £37k for a 60 kW with auto pilot, HUD, etc etc so it's tempting
I live in Australia. 80 percent of Tesla owners have solar power.
The atmosphere is going to be electric! 😂
I always try to squeeze some pun in somewhere 😜, my best set was my charging video, I gave AMPle information to viewers about charging up their electric car, or as some call it, a Volts Wagon.
Why are you in the passenger seat?
Haha, it’s full self driving, I don’t need to be in the driving seat
not buying a new car because of depretiation makes sense for every car but Tesla, the cars bairly lose any value years after purchase, its crazy
11:05: Top tip
My rate is $0.04547 / kWh
11. Sell your kidney to pay for it.
Its a risky was to finance, as they ask for proof of your finances quite early after order and you may not have secured a buyer.
🙃🤣great idea, selling " bodyparts" in exchange of a TESLA💜💜💜💜love that
please dont call them ice cars
Not gunna lie, I'm not a fan of the term either, seems to be complicating something that doesn't need to be, but seems to be the terminology, what should I replace it with? Combustion cars just sounds a bit of a mouth full?
Very knowledgeable. But, you are just talking sooooo fast it’s hard to understand you. Sorry.
Lmao, seems optimistic thinking the UK will get Berlin cars.
Surely that will make more sense than shipping them from China? But you are right, nothing in concrete, I just assumed it would be
@@TeslaTorque UK/IE are the only Tesla RHD markets near Berlin, doesn't make sense to install all the extra gear needed to serve two markets that can be served cheaper from China which is closer to the rest of the RHD markets like NZ, AU, Japan, Singapore, HK etc.
Congratulations for buying a money pit!
In what sense? It’s the opposite with electric cars, the biggest thing is the upfront cost, then maintenance and running costs minimal
A bit of mumbling.
First thing?? Return it.. telsa is finished....
Riiiiiight...
Telsa might be finished, as never heard of them, thankfully I've started a channel on Tesla's, so should be fine 😜
