Your body is miraculous. Be gentle with yourself. My nephew was born at 43+ weeks, and now at age 33 he has finally learned to be on time for things. When anyone asked my sister "how are you today?" (after 40 weeks), she'd burst into tears. All is well and all parties are healthy and happy!
Congratulations!! Every birth is unique ❤️ No matter how your baby comes out you delivered your baby! And a tip for all you expecting mamas! It’s good to understand the basics of a c-section (even if it’s not your plan) so you won’t be caught completely off guard if the plan/situation changes.
There is nothing to be be ashamed of for having epidural... I don't understand honestly why is so difficult to accept for some women that suffering is not the only way to give birth. And try to avoid unnecessary pain is not going to make you a worse mother.
Although research is scarce on this topic, epidurals and medical inductions have increased rates of emergency c-sections. It has a lot to do with the mother's reaction to the drugs given to her, and the fact that she is lying on her back and compressing decreasing the blood flow to her baby through a major artery running through her back. I had three c-sections at the hospital and had my fourth baby at home, I was in active labor for 4 hours and pushed the baby out in under 5 minutes. Being at home probably eased the anxiety
Agreed! Had my labour not gone so quickly, I would of gotten one. I went in with an open mind as to whether or not I would have. I didn’t, but it’s just how it went.
I love hearing your story ! I think people assume what they would do or look down on c sections . We aren’t in control over our bodies during labor. Thankful for medical teams that can help in those situations . You did a great job momma ! Congratulations
SAME HERE!!! Congratulations to you and your husband! 16 years ago I gave birth to my son in a very similar experience. 26 hours of labor, 15 hours w/o epidural. Pitocin gave me very hard regular contractions and at the end I dilated to 2cm 😒. They had to take him via C-section due to 24 hours since water broke. It sparked a depression months later b/c I felt like my body had failed and I had failed. All these years later I have a much different perspective on the whole thing. It’s lovely to see you seem to have accepted it and are ready for all of the wonderful things to come. All that matters is you are her Mom and that is the most special gift in the world😊
C-section mama here! 💖 Your birth story is similar to mine. I was induced, my babies heart rate went up. I was so upset too. It took so long for me to get through it. Still working through it. Xx
Thank you for introducing us to beautiful Sadie Joy! What a precious name. I also just wanted to say a big thank you for sharing your birth story. I had a very similar story (home birth turned brutal and intervention-filled delivery at 41+5). Your story made me feel very seen and I really appreciate your perspective on the whole experience 💛
Thank you so much for sharing your birth story! I’m 31 weeks and hoping for a natural birth, but as you say, things can go on a different direction and you just have to go with it.
Thank you so much for sharing. I cried during this because it was very similar to my unplanned c_section birth experience (overdue, induction, the baby’s heart rate dropping after contractions…). It was nice to hear from someone else who had a similar experience.
The body knows what to do. I’m happy to hear you both are healthy. We can’t live in the past, but just know your body didn’t fail. It’s about engaging with the body despite the “normal” timeline and processes that medical professionals think you are suppose to have. The baby and body knows exactly what it needs to do and people get afraid when the body and baby moves differently than what they expect. Sometimes waiting and praying helps to calm the mind to allow things to move along. We are all happy for you and Sean. Sadie is beautiful and loved.
Congratulations!! With My daughters birth I was to be induced the next morning so my doc gave me the cervical gel & sleeping pill to help me sleep but shortly after my water broke & I went from 1 to 10cm in an hour and had to hold delivery for 5 hours in middle of night waiting for doc to show up. My Brain was trying to sleep but body was heavy labor. I was so loopy! Glad Sadie is healthy!
Its so hard to trust even doctors, imo its better to not intervene in any way unless mother or child r in danger. I feel ppl lack patience, we mothers need to be given assurance n certainty that everything will happen in its own time and that we mustn't gr anxious bt it seems the team of docs themselves gt vry anxious
Congratulations! This took me back to my first c-section almost 22 years ago, I felt a lot of the same emotions during and after as you spoke about. So happy it all worked out and you have a beautiful baby girl!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience 🧡 I gave birth to our baby girl 10 days after you on 18 November, and the birth also didn’t go to plan, despite all the hypnobirthing practice I had done. From feeling totally fine, I went straight into active labour and dilated to 10cm within 3 hours, managing without pain relief. All the staff at the hospital were very encouraged by this and people kept telling me our little one would be here so soon, but actually she then got unexpectedly stuck in the birth canal, contractions stalled and I needed both vontouse and a pitocin drip and only narrowly avoided ending up in theatre. It was extremely painful and stressful - not at all the zen experience I’d hoped for! I guess I learnt that birth is unpredictable, and all we can do is make what seem to be the best decisions at the time. No matter how it happens, we should be so proud of ourselves for bringing our babies safely into the world. Xxx
So glad she is finally here, and after the nightmare of 15 hours labour that she, and you are both in good shape, Super happy for you that she is breastfeeding well ! Congratulations to all 3 of you xx
Congratulations Meghan and Happy Birthday Sadie!🥳 I'm sure most of us mamas understand exactly how you feel and appreciate you helping new mamas understand that things sometimes just don't go as planned and you will feel off after birth. I did go over with my son 42 weeks and 2 days and with a very similar experience. I got tired of hearing the nurse tell me every time I went in to the ER that he is a happy little clam. Thank you for sharing and happy to hear that you and your baby is healthy and safe :)
Yours and my experience are almost identical stories. Thank you for sharing this- I’ve felt like such a failure since her birth 3.5 years ago. You’re not alone and it’s a lot to process.
Wow. What an experience you had! Crazy how you’re body refused to dilate. I’m so glad you were able to have the help you needed to have a c-section. Both of my babies heart rates decreased with my contractions as well but I was able to push them out. Each one of them took 3hrs of pushing and I was moved into lots of positions too. I had both without an epidural which still amazes me! My kids are now 7 and 4 years old. I wanted a water birth with my first but they made us take the pool down when her heart rate dropped. My son kept going back in after I would push and apparently there was talk of a possible c-section. At one point I had enough and decided to push after a contraction ended and the dr helped get him out. I was awake for over 48 hrs with my firstborn and after it was all done I realized I had never felt true exhaustion until then. Our bodies are truly amazing ❤ Congratulations to you guys! 😊
Congratulations!!! 🥰 Emergency C-section mama here. It's a hard thing to process mentally when the process goes so differently from what you'd envisioned. I was 5cm when I went in but at 7cm there were issues: heart rate, baby not dropping, meconium when they broke my water. They lost his heart rate and I was rushed to the OR. Thankfully they got him out in time. He's now 15 and perfectly healthy! ❤️
Me just over here nodding - girl, I had almost the same experience. Labor for almost 3 days, cascade of interventions, trying to reposition, mourning the need for a c-section due to babies heart rate, chord around. Numbing went up to my face and felt like I was going to pass out too! Absolutely not the birth I wanted or planned for either
My baby is just about 2 weeks older than yours! First time mom here as well. So happy you made this video. I had planned on having a homebirth. Did allll the prep and yet God had other plans 😂 I had told my husband twice, “I feel like we might get transferred to the hospital.” And yep! After laboring 24 hours at home and staying at 8cm for 3 hours and back labor, I transferred to hospital for pain relief. I totally understand how you feel. I’m so happy for you guys and proud of your decision to look at it in a positive light! It inspires me ❤
Your birth story is indeed intense and having to go through an unplanned c-section is hard too, but here you are holding a little miracle of yours💖 she's so adorable!
Congratulations! C-section mom here also. Mine was emergency also for the same reason cord wrapped around the neck and heart rate dropping during contractions. I am just happy that he got here safely no matter how he got here (c-section or natural) ultimately that is the most important thing.
Congratulations! I was very happy for you when I first saw this posted, but I didn’t have a chance to watch the whole video until today. So precious to meet your baby. Much of your labor story sounded very similar to mine though she was two days early. I started out going to a birth center planning for all natural and wound up with an emergency c-section. Sunday morning my water broke, and she was delivered Monday night. I labored at the birth center until Monday morning, at which point I had to be transferred to the hospital due to policies. I wound up with pitocin (so painful) and eventually an epidural and an emergency c-section (same issue of baby’s heart rate). I later found out I likely had back labor because my baby appeared to be sunny side up when she was delivered via c-section. I remember being talkative during my c-section as well. :)
Oh my goodness! You were so brave, having no progress for so long and being in so much pain. My second labor and birth in August was 5 hours, I was in extreme shock that it was so fast and painful with back labor. I have so much respect for you and your amazing story ❤ good job mama
Your remarks about your water breaking brought back memories. I too heard a popping sound, waddled to the washroom, and gushed water all the way to the washroom. I was freaking out (was only at 34 weeks myself), this wasn't supposed to happen yet. I got myself to hospital and waited for 48 hours (resting up, nothing happening) before baby decided it was time and decided to make an appearance. Labour went so fast that nurses didn't realize I was already 9cm dilated and I needed to be rushed to birthing room. Doula made it, but just nearly. It ended up being a no intervention natural birth, whilst in my head I had already given into thinking I'd need every intervention out there. There is no way of predicting. And nothing went "wrong" in the way you prepared for labour or laboured. It is what it is. The neutral feeling you are left with, is one I recognize. Keep in mind that feeling might change. And if at any point it does, please make sure you find a way to talk about that with the Doula or a nurse, as it is still part of processing and giving it a place.
Thank your for sharing your story, Meghan. I know how hard it is to have expectations of how you want the birth to go and it go so differently. I did not go past due, but chose to be induced before my due date per my OBs suggestion. I had some prodomal labor the weekend prior to the induction that fizzled put. Come induction time I ended having painful back labor and baby never descended down. Looking back I believe he was posterior and that is how I ended up with a C-section. It was a failure to progress situation also. I do agree that in the moment making decisions is so much different. You really did give it your all, I'm so glad you are having a successful breastfeeding journey so far and things seem to be well. ❤
My experience was same as yours.....relatable...i dreamed and planned of normal delivery but ended up C section ... Lots of blessings to the little one..
Congratulations on the birth of your baby! Meghan, you were amazing! You did an incredible job. I'm blown away by your strength and courage throughout your experience ❤🔥
I’ve been watching you for a while now, I just found out I was pregnant last week and found videos of YOUR pregnancy and you really had it rough throughout my goodness! But you are very tough and been to hell and back and just good for you! And congratulations! You and your baby are beautiful! 🥰💖
Thank you so much my loveliest Meghan for sharing your miraculous story💕💕 Your little girl is so pretty and precious 🥹🥰 I wish you and your husband share amazing moments with her always💕🤗☺️
I had the same vision as you for my first born having a natural birth, but circumstances changed resulting in an unexpected c-section. I hope your recovery goes well and that you can fit in as much walks with Sadie as possible because even though it's cold outside, the walk calms your mind as well as give baby a taste of fresh air when they are bundled up snugly in their one piece thick jacket. But yes, most importantly, listen to your body and take things at your own pace. You've got this!
Thank you for sharing your story! My first birth was also a failed induction that caused me to get an epidural and eventually a C section because of heart deceleration. It took me months of cycling thoughts to get past my "failure" and eventually between that and my baby not sleeping well for over a year I realized I had postpartum depression and anxiety. I never thought it would impact me so greatly but it is apparently really common for women who get unexpected c sections to experience Ppd/a. I hope you feel like you've truly come to terms with it. It sounds like you did since you feel "neutral" about it. You truly did everything possible to make it happen and sometimes we will just never understand, like you said. Some encouraging news for birth after a C-section: I just had my VBAC with my second son on 11/24/22! I still needed Pitocin because my labor started natural but kept stalling (40 hours start to finish) and I had an epidural because as you said, the sleeplessness and back labor was unbearable eventually, BUT I finally got what felt like a redemptive birth because I birthed vaginally. It meant a lot to me after feeling disappointed in my "hopes" fory first birth. It felt like a huge victory. I think I remember you saying you were only planning for one child but if you guys decide on a second, advocate for yourself for a VBAC and remember every birth is different! The next one could be a totally opposite experience. Praying for you and your husband, sweet Sadie and your years of love and memories to come!
Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your story, I had a c section 19 months ago and I can totally relate with everything you felt , I felt it too! You did an amazing job and you are the best mom for Sadie( don’t ever doubt it for even a minute! ) ❤
Your birth story resonates so much with me - I also had wanted and prepared as much as I could for a very low-intervention and unmedicated birth, and ended up going as far overdue as you, no dilation, no progress with induction, and finally a C-section. The process of coming to terms with it all afterwards was such a mental/emotional roller coaster. Like you, I wish I knew why my body “failed” me (cuz that truly is what it feels like)! Sending many hugs to you for having had to go through that same roller coaster, but also happy that your sweet baby is here and you’re both healthy! Wishing you so many days of joy ahead 💕
Your body didn’t fail. And it’s heartbreaking you feel that way. I don’t like that they push for induction because it adds a lot of stress and tension to the body If the body is tense, if the mind is tense, then it can’t progress like it’s suppose to be. Plus nurses and doctors don’t believe in being patience with mothers. Praise God you are healthy and so is your baby.
Congratulations on your beautiful baby! I also had a c-section. Point for point my delivery went the complete opposite of what I wanted. It's always important to make a plan but keep your mind flexible to change. Please take the time you need to rest. Resting is very important to recovery.
Delighted to hear you've had your baby, Meghan, CONGRATULATIONS 🥳 It's amazing how things don't go as planned, the same happened my sister, but you now have a beautiful, healthy baby girl and it's wonderful that breastfeeding is going so well. I had to have an epidural too which wasn't in the plan but now my healthy baby was 24 yesterday 🤗 bringing us as much joy as ever. The day he was born still feels like yesterday 🥰😍❤ Try now to relax and enjoy little Sadie because time flies 😊
Congratulations!! She is absolutely beautiful! She is here and that is all that really matters. Plans are great, but things often go their own way. Sending love and prayers
I wanted a natural birth too, but my son was breeched up until 5 days before his due date when I had a c-section. I was really scared and was crying before the procedure but thankfully everything went perfectly, and sometimes I feel like I got off easy. I remember those moments so vividly, it's a wild ride of emotions. I hope you enjoy nursing your baby. I loved it so much!
Hi Meghan.. Congrats on your new baby girl and the adventures that await you and your family of 3 😊 happy and excited for you all. My baby came early, 36 weeks 2 days.. and I feel strongly that she came early because I was super ready for her to be out of my tummy lol and excited to meet and love on her 🥰 it's been a beautiful 3 years so far 😁. Have fun! 🥂
Birth is always a surprise. We plan and plan but ultimately we are not in control. You prepared as you needed and adjusted as needed. You are a terrific mom, and Sadie will love hearing her birth story. So happy for you. Life will 😊😊improve from here.
You did so well!! As a mom and not even a follower of yours who would know you and love you because I knew you well, I am SOOO proud of you! You did your best and one day you can tell your girl you truly did everything possible and be proud of yourself and she will be too!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Sending much love. Be proud of yourself 💐
You've really made me remember my first birth story and all the postpartum depression that came with it but trust me, it all vanished as I gave birth to my second baby naturally yayyy
I truly applaud you for your honesty in the way you shared your personal story with us. Things happen as they are meant to be and it also does not necessarily mean c sections in the future if you do choose to have more kids (even if it does, it is not a failure) Sending love
Congratulations!!🎊 Sadie Joy is beautiful. I remember I was pass 40 weeks for my second daughter. I was 2 centimeters for about 2wks. They decided to induce at 41 wks and gave birth the next day. It turn out as a natural birth, no C-section. But as you stated this was the way Sadie would enter this world and it turned out beautifully which ever a baby is born. Cherish every moment. They go by pretty quickly. Thank you for sharing your experience. ❤️🌹
Congratulations! What a story! I think it is one of those reminders in life that we don't have to have things happen exactly the way we imagine and when we let go and surrender the control, with faith in our hearts, all will work out in the end. And maybe Sadie was so cozy and comfortable, that she wasn't in a hurry to come out :) xx
I went in thinking my water had broken and 5 days overdue and they sent me home too! They said it had partially broken/ leaked but baby was fine so go home and rest. Sure enough we were like you, having to go right back. Why do they send us home overdue? Glad Sadie is here and healthy and sorry you had to go through such a long pregnancy and delivery❤️💕🙏🏻She’s beautiful and you look amazing too!
Congratulations! Listening to your birth story is such a refresher of when I had my baby girl 9 years ago We had a bit of an opposing situation, I begged my doctor to plan a C sección. But nope my daughter decided she’d make it a whole month earlier at 35 weeks. It was such a neutral experience as well, I had the epidural as well but I asked for it so early on, that I never even got to know what a contraction feels like. Many blessings to you and your lovely family💛
Thank you so much for candidly sharing your birth story, and congratulations on your beautiful baby! My two babies are home for the holiday, two girls ages 23 and 21, and neither birth went according to plan. I did have a birth plan with my first daughter, and then after 24 hours of horrible contractions and no progress, I went through every intervention possible to get that baby out! With my second daughter I kind of had no birth plan, and even though it went smoothly at first, she had the cord around her neck and they had to get her out before i was ready to push. So the best of plans and the lack of plans both equalled something really dramatic! And here they are, grown up and thriving and not without bumps along the way. Maybe childbirth makes us parents resilient and flexible? And loving and grateful and present? Still figuring it all out as I go:). Wishing you and your sweet family all the best!
I had my first baby in July and I had a “normal” vaginal birth with epidural like I planned for, but breastfeeding was months of stress, heartache and difficulty which I had not expected. Even though I learned about breastfeeding in advance I secretly thought it would be easy and I’d just figure it out. Boy was I wrong and angry at my body. It took my 5 months of trying before I could “let go” of what I thought should happen and I finally admitted that it just didn’t work for me (I was diagnosed with IGT). Even though I’m still a little disappointed, I’m starting to see it as a valuable learning experience and I have accepted that having my sweet baby girl was all the truly matters. It took a while to get there, but I’m no longer angry at my body but thankful for what it could do. Lovely video and adorable baby, congrats!
We have had a similar birth story. Don´t be too hard on yourself - I still think my body failed me sometimes, 22 months later, but it gets better with time. I am trying a VBAC for my second one in 6 months, and it´s a tricky balance between getting the right preparation and not getting my hopes too high either. I was SO prepared the first time to have a natural and unmedicated birth, that I am wondering WHAT to do better to prepare the second one? I can´t do much more than trust the process. I wish you a speedy recovery- recovery from C -section can suck! You need all the help you can get. Big congratulations on your little girl. You didn´t have your "perfect birth" but you had your perfect baby
Congratulations she’s beautiful! She’s here and she’s safe! I feel like I could say so much! You did all you could and no matter what we do it includes risk, I had a local girl to me have the ESV and her placenta detached and she lost her baby at 37 weeks, like my point is we are always taking risk no matter what!!! And the bottom line is she’s here and she’s well, and it was her way of coming!! With that said I don’t know if you remember I was finally pregnant, we started trying when you did and at last it worked in sept. It ended in a ruptured ectopic. I’m now 6 weeks post surgery. Life is hard! Having babies is hard. But we love them 💝
Hello Meghan! I had a very similar experience to you in September of this year. I was pregnant with my first baby, a girl, and planning a homebirth with midwives. I had also done all the natural labor prep and was so excited for my birth experience. Unfortunately, my baby was also breech since before 20 weeks. At 37 weeks we went to the hospital for an ECV which was very intense and unsuccessful. We went home and I continued spinning babies techniques and chiropractor visits to try to get her to flip. My husband and I weren’t comfortable with the possible complications from a natural breech delivery so we scheduled a c section. It was the absolute last thing I wanted to do and it was a very hard decision. Still, we were hoping she might turn before the scheduled date. About 2 weeks before the date I woke up at 4am to my water breaking exactly like yours did- a huge gush that just kept coming. I could still feel her head up under my ribs so we immediately drove to the hospital. We hadn’t even had a pre-op appointment so we didn’t know what to expect. Within 2 hours our baby was delivered. I also felt extremely tired and nauseous during the surgery and felt like I wasn’t fully present for the experience. I agree with you that it is SO hard to have things go the opposite of what you were planning. I spent many weeks wrestling with that. I also felt like it was my body’s fault and struggled with what I thought birth should be. But I loved what you said about birth being a very small part of the overall journey of parenthood! I am so glad you and your daughter are healthy and bonding well Congratulations to you and your family!
She is a beauty and copy of shawn. And you are a hero. One day your daughter will grow up and look at this video and thank you for being so strong for her. Congrats again i wish you all the best. You're on a lovely journey.
Thank you for sharing ♥️ I gave birth on October 11, also overdue, and feel like I was kind of on the journey with you xx. Also had an unplanned induction though thankfully after a pretty long and really hard labor baby did come out. Just sending you lots of love, and thank you for sharing your story.
Hi Meghan! I've been watching you for years for your healthy food ideas etc and I'm so happy for you for having your little baby girl! Congratulations!~🎈🎈🙌
Meghan, my birth story was pretty much the same as yours. Don't worry there's nothing abnormal with delivering with the help of C section. The most important thing is that you and you baby girl are healthy and doing 👍🏻
Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl - love her name! I had nearly the same birth story as you. Not expected, but everything ended up just fine. Thinking of you!
Congratulations, Meghan! Thank you for sharing your birth story... I had a very similar experience and honestly, it's been so tough processing it all and accepting that my son had to be born that way, even though I tried so desperately and did everything I could to prepare for a natural, unmedicated birth. Unfortunately he was also sunny side up which made the pain absolutely unbearable. I wasn't induced...but I also went to 41+4 before going into labor. However, the whole time my baby was still high up and no matter the positions my amazing midwife who is all about natural birth, had me get into, nothimg worked and eventually after my contractions petered out, they decided to transfer me to hospital. It was the most horrific experience of my life... I was given pitocin and hooked up to a monitor and made to stay on the bed on my back...the worst for back labor and for the pain! Plus, it was during Covid and my husband couldn't be around. Thankfully, my baby and I are well and safe even after that terrible and extremely traumatic experience. He is now almost 11 months old and I feel like I am finally able to move on from the trauma. Hearing others stories...and that things don't always go to plan even if you did everything you could and made choices that were good and natural, etc. Sadie is beautiful...well done!
Congratuslaions Meghan and Shawn! so happy to hear from you and see you and the new addition Sadie Joy! Sh'e's just perfect! I was overdue on my first one too, and had a normal delivery at a birthing center with a midwife almost 39 years ago. Midwives were a new thing then! The Labour was about 12 hours and LOTS of lower back pain! I ripped from end to end and had stitches inside and out, but still consider the experience wonderful. Our Daughter SHANNON MICHELE was born on 1.28.84 and she has two kids that were delivered by C-Section. She is a health nut like you! Kids are all unvaccinated and treated with supplements when sick and homeopathic remedies. Anyway, I was just thinking and wondering about you this week, and hoping to hear from you soon! then There you were! God Bless you and your family Meghan! !!!
Congratulations new mommy! I also had a c-section. They tried at the hospital to let me give birth to my twins naturally, but the contractions didn't come around. It felt just like a menstruation pain. I felt at the moment they told me I would get twins that I needed a c-section. At those moments I'm dissapointed when I'm right. But I'm so happy with my little girls. It's their first birthday tomorrow (december 15th).
Hi Meghan congratulations again on your little Sadie girl she’s just precious. I share a similar experience with you. when I first got pregnant with my little girl I was overdue to 42 weeks I was induced I had the cervical gel and pitocin. I did dilate to 6cm but baby girl was not descending finally they had my broke my water but eventually I ended up with a c-section because her oxygen levels were pretty low. But it’s very exhausting and overwhelming experience but it was worth it. Anyway my daughter now 16 years old 😊
I don't have children but I want to have children once I get older I'm only 20 and listening to your stories is pretty good to know and thank you for telling us this
Congratulations. Birth happens way it happens. Mine where both breech (later found out due to bicornuate uterus so they would have never been able to go head down). I still find there is a ton of judgement and mis understanding about c sections - no one would choose major surgery whilst awake if they had a mother choice. Has made me very passionate about educating some of my more judgemental "friends". Glad beautiful Sadie arrived safely and motherhood going well ❤️
I totally understand your valid feelings about your birth! My kids births were very similar to how your birth sounds. Heart decels, pitocin, failure to progress. It is very emotional to want a natural birth so badly and not end up having one. I cried with both my c sections so don't feel bad!
Wow, congratulations on you for your cute little baby! But to be honest I don’t understand what the taboo is regarding a c-sec! Like hearing your story it was clear god had decided a certain path for you from the start and rather than accepting that and moving on, you put yourself and the baby through so much pain only to then go that path. I wish you all the best!
Congratulations on the birth of Sadie Joy!!! She is beautiful!! My first was nearly 42 weeks as well and he was 9 pounds 14 oz. It is amazing they didn't do a C-section for me but they thought he was going to be smaller haha. It is interesting that they moved her at 37 weeks or so. I thought they waited until 38 or 39 weeks for that (but it was a long time ago that I was that far in pregnancy. . I am 14 weeks pregnant right now but it has been 14 years since I had my second child). I also was never dilated with my kids until 30 minutes before birthing! my mom too. For my 2nd, I told them that i was not going so far in my pregnancy again so they induced me at 39 weeks. both my first two were induced. I will be induced for this one too at around 39 weeks again. Wow your contractions came fast after that gel!! That pop sounds crazy! I don't know many people who had their water break naturally! Mine had to be popped for me. That is crazy that after your water broke it still took so long to give birth! I fought off epidural for my first for 16 hours and the second one, just 6 hours haha. I love hearing birthing stories! Thanks for sharing this. C-sections sounds very difficult but you did great!!!
I'm glad your sweet baby is healthy and you had a safe delivery and you shared your story, sometimes babies choose what they will do you can plan, all you want but ultimately it is his/her choice, they start taking charge at birth, lol. I had to have an emergency c-section myself, had been going through labor for hrs to her heart deceleration, and her cord was wrapped around her neck 3 times they say were lucky they got her out. Thank you for sharing.
Congrats on the new baby Sadie. You actually make only one decision and that is "whatever is best for the baby". End of story. No matter what it takes, if it means in a cab on the way or in a plowed field, with or without drugs every decision you make from now on will only need one answer and that is whatever is best for the baby. And most of the time that means plans fly right out of the window. lol Congrats! you are a mom.
Your body is so intelligent, the stress of not going into labor can signal to your body that it's not a safe time to give birth. I went thru the exact same thing. Gave birth at 41+5. You're not broken at all
Your body is miraculous.
Congratulations on the birth of Sadie Joy, may she grow up happy and healthy.☺️
Thank you so much!
That is so sweet I was thinking the same thing
It was definitely a lesson in releasing expectations! Best wishes to you!!
Awe, it’s so good to see you holding her! You are glowing!
Xxx
You weren’t ready . My first VBAC was 42/5. I understand what happened. My first was an induction which led to a CSection.
Our bodies are truly amazing ❤
Congratulations to you guys!
I'm so glad that you can still be proud of your body for the things that it was doing so well!
You’re a rockstar no matter what! ❤
Congratulations on becoming a mom!! :) we are all happy that she’s safe!
Don't be hard on yourself. You and your baby girl is amazing. I'm just glad your both healthy. God bless you
She is beautiful! And thank God we have the medical interventions to deliver her and keep you safe 🫶🏻
You did an amazing job and you are the best mom for Sadie( don’t ever doubt it for even a minute! ) ❤
She was snug and happy and didn't want to leave the warmth. Beautiful girl! Congratulations!
Exact same story. My son is almost 6months. Love for you two. 🤍🤍🤍
I don’t like that they push for induction because it adds a lot of stress and tension to the body
If the body is tense, if the mind is tense, then it can’t progress like it’s suppose to be.
So very glad to see you! I was recently thinking about you and wondering how you and the baby were. So grateful to God all are well.
You've really made me remember my first birth story and all the postpartum depression that came with it but trust me, it all vanished as I gave birth to my second baby naturally yayyy
I truly applaud you for your honesty in the way you shared your personal story with us. Things happen as they are meant to be and it also does not necessarily mean c sections in the future if you do choose to have more kids (even if it does, it is not a failure)
Sending love
Listening to your birth story is such a refresher of when I had my baby girl 9 years ago
We had a bit of an opposing situation, I begged my doctor to plan a C sección.
Congratulations Meghan. We are glad your baby is ok and healthy.
Congratulations on the birth of Sadie Joy! So thrilled to hear you’re all doing well!
Congratulations on your New Baby!!❤
Congratulations
She is so beautiful.
I'm so glad that even though you didn't know how it would all unfold, you and Sadie are both healthy.
Congratulations Meghan and Sean✨you have a beautiful baby girl✨
But we love them 💝
Congratulations💕She's beautiful and you look fabulous as always💕You're gonna be an awesome mom💕OMG your story made me cry,you tell it so well.
Thanks for sharing your story. I'm so happy you and Sadie are happy and healthy!
Congratulations!!! God bless you all!!💗
Congratuslaions Meghan and Shawn! so happy to hear from you and see you and the new addition Sadie Joy!
Anyway my daughter now 16 years old 😊
I don't have children but I want to have children once I get older I'm only 20 and listening to your stories is pretty good to know and thank you for telling us this
Congratulations on your baby girl 👶!!!
Glad beautiful Sadie arrived safely and motherhood going well ❤️
I love what you said, she came through Sadie’s door! It was meant to me ❤
Congratulations and welcome to the world to little Sadie Joy! Happy to see you are doing so well ❤️
I totally understand your valid feelings about your birth!
What!! Im so surprised, but excited to watch. All the best to you!
Congratulations on your sweet baby girl! She's so adorable!👶🏻💝
I had to have an emergency c-section myself, had been going through labor for hrs to her heart
deceleration, and her cord was wrapped around her neck 3 times they say were lucky they got her out.
Thank you for sharing.
I’m so happy for you!!!! Congratulations 🎉 may God bless your tiny family 🤍
congratulations!! 🤍
You're not broken at all
Congratulations! I love her name!
Me too. I've been hoping for a video soon. Congratulations!
