For those of you confused, Kane Marko(Juggernaut) is the Xavier's adopted brother. In the film and T.V. series they focus more on Magneto because of how complicated and powerful he is, when in the comics, Juggernaut plays a bigger role in Charles's life as an enemy. Plus no one really cares about the Juggernaut.
I'm liking Nightwing now soooo much better than I did at the beginning of New 52. I think they're getting feel for where he....And the rest of the Bat-family....Need to be.
Came back here after the recent Nightwing vs Hush book where Dick offers Bruce the conclusion that he chose Clark as his best man because he sacrifices for his friends. Seeley forgot what he himself wrote and what 40 years of history has shown us - Dick Grayson will sacrifice anything for Bruce Wayne. Sigh.... And it's such a beautiful book too.
Absolutely., I think DC are giving back the attention NightWing deserves 10 fold, personally I never really knew much about Dick Greyson besides the fact he was Batman's first robin. With the launch of New 52 I turned back to comics after a long hiatus and this here was the start of my interest towards this person and hero. I'm so glad DC are giving NightWing some massive improvements and great story structure.
I really liked this story arc and how it has fleshed out Nightwing as a character by furthering his own mythos. We got to see more about his mom rather than just being someone who died to further his plot. What I enjoy about Nightwing although tied to Batman comics, those stories aren't required to tell a good Nightwing story.
Nightwing is to be returned to Bludhaven then he's just another character but his own character is what he's gonna have to work on somemore. He's like a Teen Counselor & not a Hard Boiled Dectective which is how the Drk Knight Rises film depicted him. But lets hope they start bringing in some hard asses...
I was unsure at first after reading the first storyline but after the rise of raptor I'm actually really excited to see what Seeley does with nightwing, I really enjoyed this storyline, there are still some things that bother me, like I'm still not 100% happy with Dick grayson's characterization but its definitely a lot better in this then it was in grayson and it'll probably be something he fixes as the series goes on, I'm just really happy that he's nightwing again. and I'm glad that Tim Seeley is creating villains just for nightwing but I hope they don't drop deathstroke and that there is a storyline of them going up against each other some time in the future, I've just always found Dick and the Wilson's stories really interesting.
theyre tryin to bring up that he just kept a close eye followed and investigated dick grayson for a long time in the past so he found out that bruce wayne adopted him and so by knowing that dick is nightwing and that batmans sidekick is nightwing,(wich everyone knows in gotham), he just deduced that bruce wayne is batman
ik that the stories between Batman and Joker could be avoided If Batman just killed Joker, but u got to admit,Death in the Family,Killing Joke,JOKER,Death of the Family, and Endgame are amazing
Cortez Ollie it wasn't a Recon it was obviously I added unknown secret from its origin, basically this guy Raptor was pissed off because he did not raise dick an in the image that he wanted him to be
TakTheFox he probably said juggernaut because magneto and Xavier patched things up, since magneto became a member of the x-men. juggernaut and Xavier I guess not so much?
Yes, because regardless of what you think of Magneto and Xavier, Magneto isn't against Xavier, he's against humanity and Xavier is there to stop him. Juggernaut however is against Xavier explicitly. Xavier is defacto for Magneto, but Juggernaut is defacto for Xavier.
I don't like this theme lately of DC making heroes dead parents into these mystery characters that were so much more than they seemed. That said it was an ok story. I personally think Nightwings main solo-villains were Blockbuster and Black Mask. I liked the idea of a super intelligent Hulk (Blockbuster wished for intelligence and got it) against Dick and they could have gone a long way with that. Turned it into a real match of wits. Since Dick would never be a match for Blockbuster physically, outmaneuvering him with his mind would have been the best way to beat him. But they made Blockbuster a organized crime guy who wanted to appear legit so he had one hand tied behind his back since providing absolute proof of his criminality would make him an outlaw and destroy his ability to make money off his criminal ventures. I always wanted to see that super smart Blockbuster with the chains off. He's a criminal now, no way to save his image, and all he wants to do is made Nightwing suffer for taking it all away. To me that would be an interesting story. I don't find Raptor all that interesting. He just reminds me of Hawk or Kestrel from Hawk and Dove, with a whole bunch of family issues. The entire premise of Dick's mom befriending him leaves so many questions that it's really sloppy writing. Why didn't she marry Raptor? Was he jealous of Dick's dad? Why wasn't he there to save them when they were murdered? If he was always hanging around why doesn't Dick remember him at all? Why didn't Raptor go after the man who killed the Flying Graysons? What happened to Raptor after Dick busted him all up? All of it is sloppy writing that focuses on one silly premise. "Is Batman doing the right thing by operating as a vigilante within the existing justice system and in concert with traditional law enforcement?" And the answer for me at least is "who cares?" When it comes to the way Batman deals with his Rogues Gallery the transfer to civilian authorities is of course always the weak link. They always escape or get treatment and supposedly get better but then revert as soon as they get out into the public and so on. It's silly and removes all dramatic tension from mainstream comics (which is why I so rarely read them anymore) but it allows writers to keep telling stories with established bad guys over and over. I have to say... Joker killing Jason Todd and then getting Diplomatic Immunity from some middle eastern nation was a particularly hilarious way to bring Joker back and insulate him from law enforcement. But the one thing I've always wondered is why doesn't Batman take things to the next level and open his own prison? In DC 1,000,000 the Batman of that time was a warden on a prison that was built into the planet Pluto. From there he kept humanity safe from the Justice League's worst enemies and if I recall correctly when the Batman from present day learned that his successor was a jailer he makes some off the cuff remark about it being a conflict of interest or something. Insinuating that he would never allow himself to be the jailer of his enemies because of some moral implication I'm not really sure of. Which I thought then and think now is silly. Making prisons for super villains has been a theme through much of DC comics bigger story arcs. The Injustice Storyline is rife with incidents of of these prisons not working out. Even in Kingdom Come Mister Miracle fails at keeping super villains contained. But I would love to see Batman give this a try. Through his money, ties to intergalactic characters within the justice league and so on I can imagine him making something on the moon or in outer space or even another planet. Setting up some sort of untraceable teleportation system that allows workers and caregivers to go to and from the facility but never really interact with the prisoners (the entire thing could be faked on both sides if the people were always separated from the criminals by any barrier they would think they are face to face but actually not even in the same facility and if they needed medical care the patient would be delivered to them unconscious,. drugged and restrained before they are allowed to examine them and even then only by doctors approved by Batman). All the struggles with the morality of what he's doing, the mistrust from government officials, the Justice League disagreeing with it, maybe even some of the Bat Family disagreeing with it. Maybe bring back Azreal as someone who serves as a Warden. All of it would be very interesting. Especially if the writers didn't take the hackneyed and obvious tactic of someone breaking the prison from the inside or one of the villains tricking their way into causing a massive prison break. I think it would be really interesting to see an entirely new take on this. Actually have it work. But then maybe have Waller get jealous and try and get some Suicide Squad member out of Batman's prison and bring the entire JLA Vs US Government thing to a head. Settle some old scores. It would be pretty great. I love Nightwing but this story was only ok.
I mean technically nightwing already had an arch nemisis in blockbuster back in nightwings glory days in bludhaven but im pretty sure that was retconned with the new 52
i personally like this story it's really interesting espicially with nightwing aka dick grayson finally having a villian besides deathstroke aka slade Wilson
There's no ultimate price to pay for their actions? Did the writers of this understand what a prison is? How is spending years of your life in a cage not a price to pay for crime? The price is your time.
I have a theory about arkham. maybe arkham isn't terrible. it's true that villains breakout every time and do terrible things. but we never see the meetings we see some but not all or in depth. maybe the villains are going in and the reason they do rougher and rougher stuff is because they are fighting more against arkham than the city. they get in personally into their minds and they don't like it. I mean of all the people in arkham notice The people who mainly survive is psychiatrist. psychiatrist have died I know but they also have regulars. the security gets killed but psychiatrist live.
I really enjoyed this arc. It helped shed light on Nightwings past and showed just how flawed Raptor as a character really is. However I didn't really like how they wrote Bruce. I know this is nightwings comic but come on thats Batman dude, at least give him a little more to do or say.
Batman's- logic I'm not gonna kill you, I'm just not gonna save you either Me- that's still murder dude Captain America- I kill only when it's necessary son Me- I guess you were a soldier in the one of worse points in history Aquaman- I did what was necessary Me- you couldn't call superman Spider-man- nobody dies! Me-except Qwen Her dad Jamison's wife your clone ect
Also that mostly applies to driving under the influence. If someone is standing in the middle of the road and a trucks coming, and you have time to jump in front and save them you're not going to jail if you don't. The government can't force people to be heroes.
Dick Grayson was the original Robin who became Nightwing around the time Teen Titans came out in the 80s. Jason Todd was Robin after this and was killed by the Joker, and resurrected in the lazarus pit, becoming Red Hood. Tim Drake was Robin for a while, who became Red Robin. He was the leader of Teen Titans for a while when Dick was promoted to the team of Titans. Damian Wayne is the current Robin, current leader of the Teen Titans and is Bruce and Talia al Ghouls son.
Love that your recapping Nightwing. Thanks!!

Huge Nightwing fan. This rebirth story arc is awesome
I'm liking Nightwing now soooo much better than I did at the beginning of New 52. I think they're getting feel for where he....And the rest of the Bat-family....Need to be.
True Most characters do have an out. My favorite is Joseph Joestar run away.
I'm really intrigued by Raptor. He's a great foil to Nightwing.
I can't wait for Nightwing to return to Blüdhaven!
Tuba_G issue 9 I think
Issue 10 actually, 9 is a team up with Post-Crisis Superman.
It's so relaxing listening to you talk. You have a very smooth voice.
Sigh.... And it's such a beautiful book too.
raptor is a really good batmanish character introduced in rebirth
like you said... this is what Nightwing needed
Dick just needs to hook back up with Kory and everything will be perfect.
Nightwing is back in Black and of course...Blue!
I dropped Nightwing right after issue two but I picked up this arc and it brought me right back in I'm hooked.
One of the best rebirth books!
I couldn't agree with you more that Nightwing is back where he belongs. I just hope he goes back to Bludhaven and operates solo more there.
I've really enjoyed Nightwing Rebirth. I'm really interested in what happens next. I hope they do some cool stuff in Bluddhaven.
interesting villain
so much a foil so crazy and disillusioned
Nightwing got em good, dang broke his bones, how to get up from that
It is good for Nightwing to have this villain.
Rob, your videos are so awesome! thanks! you covered my favorite villain Thanos and I thankyou for that as well!!
You need to do the blackest night!! One of the best stories ever made
Is it me or does it look like raptor has the bat symbol on his vest
Raptur is basically Red Hood
Noice!! more nightwing lol

I feel like Grayson has come such a long way. He is such a cool character
this was a really cool story. I'm mostly a marvel, but you bring out some good d.c. stories. kudos.
7:15
How did Raptor know Batman raised Bruce Wayne¿😂
LeAndre McCoy it made news
theyre tryin to bring up that he just kept a close eye followed and investigated dick grayson for a long time in the past so he found out that bruce wayne adopted him and so by knowing that dick is nightwing and that batmans sidekick is nightwing,(wich everyone knows in gotham), he just deduced that bruce wayne is batman
SAME
No, what he means is that Rob accidentally stated that batman himself raised Bruce Wayne, which makes no sense.
fOllOw.the.rEcKlEsS fOllOw.the.rEcKlEsS dude, look up.
The joke is over your head.
Rise of raptor you say?
I rose just in time.
Nightwing is so good right now
Proffesor X's main badguy is... Juggernaut? Could have sworn it was going to be Magneto, but whatever man, you're Comics Explained, I'm a scrub.
i thought the same lol
Magneto is the main bad guy of X-Men. Not Professor X's. Juggernaut is Charles' step-brother, so obviously it is his main bad guy
MCLegoboy lol
MCLegoboy i see what he's saying. Juggernaut is a villain personal to Charles Xavier where magneto is more of an x men villain. Does that make sense?
MCLegoboy Magneto is Professor X’s arch foe, Charlie ( the guy that made this video just made a mistake).
Love these Rebirth vids, keep it up!
i have to say, i love your channel!!!!
ik that the stories between Batman and Joker could be avoided If Batman just killed Joker, but u got to admit,Death in the Family,Killing Joke,JOKER,Death of the Family, and Endgame are amazing
Gotta watch this after I read issue 8!
I thought Tony Zucco is Nightwing's rival because he killed Dick's parents and in the New 52, Dick kept tracking him wherever he go.
Cortez Ollie it wasn't a Recon it was obviously I added unknown secret from its origin, basically this guy Raptor was pissed off because he did not raise dick an in the image that he wanted him to be
I know about Raptor but now I started to notice that he is Nightwing's rival.
Cortez Ollie we don't talk about new 52 nightwing
Cortez Ollie
Or james gordon jr, back when grayson was still batman
Cortez Ollie wait what happened to the villain he teamed up with too 🤔
Right... Juggernaut... that's the defacto arch villain for Xavier.
TakTheFox he probably said juggernaut because magneto and Xavier patched things up, since magneto became a member of the x-men. juggernaut and Xavier I guess not so much?
Dequann Dillard Considering how many times Magneto's turned to Xavier's side then turned back again...
TakTheFox your right it was the only conclusion I could come to lol.
Dequann Dillard The search continues @_@
Yes, because regardless of what you think of Magneto and Xavier, Magneto isn't against Xavier, he's against humanity and Xavier is there to stop him. Juggernaut however is against Xavier explicitly. Xavier is defacto for Magneto, but Juggernaut is defacto for Xavier.
i love your vids man you explain so well
Great vid. More nightwing please.
That story plays out to typically. I think it would have been better if Raptor was actually in the right.
You made a mistake at 7:15 and said that Bruce Wayne raised Bruce Wayne. lol.
"Nightwing...*I* am your fathah." _"NooooOOOOOOO!!!!"_
Nightwing's main villain was Blockbuster but he's dead as far as I know. Nightwing in Bludhaven was AWESOME they should put him back there
it seems like alot of people really know batman is bruce wanye..like really it seems like everybody knows.
your take on SilverSurfer,Sentry,Nova,Adam Warlock,Gladiator vs Justice League. id love to see you take on VS scenarios
that is a great story
Yay more nightwing!
Raptor makes sense... Saying he doesn't is being biased.
He going to kill Bruce with a Spoon. I am suddenly remembering Jack from Borderlands 2 story about the spoon.
I would really like a video on the New 52 Run Of WonderWoman later on down the line.
I don't like this theme lately of DC making heroes dead parents into these mystery characters that were so much more than they seemed. That said it was an ok story. I love Nightwing but this story was only ok.
10:03 my, raptor has an extra finger.
Can you do a video addressing what's happening with Batman and the Joker/Jokers please?
Amazing Video
I mean technically nightwing already had an arch nemisis in blockbuster back in nightwings glory days in bludhaven but im pretty sure that was retconned with the new 52
can you also cover the new spiderman miles morales comics rob ?
he said Charles Xavier arch enemy is Juggernaut? I guess that's true I probably would have went with Magneto though
Jon Cosmo magneto is kinda of an anti hero these days
Do more rundowns please rob!!
Am I the only one excited to see Dick and Helena team up again?
Awesome story!
Raptor doesn't know who Penquin is.
I know it would have to be put together quickly; however, is it possible to get a video on Emma Frost, before the end of "Death of X" is released? :)
“A clandestine organization bent on world domination”
Anybody else catch that?!? Yo, Joe!
i personally like this story it's really interesting espicially with nightwing aka dick grayson finally having a villian besides deathstroke aka slade Wilson
ACTS OF VENGEANCE , ROB , ACTS OF VENGEANCE
and this is good especially with keeping up, !
Have you reviewed Valiant Comics Divinity series? I HIGHLY recommend it. Very well written story and art.
GRAHF
Xenogears grahf?
Kinda funny how the villains have more sense and logic than the 'heroes'.
Smh I'm rooting for the villains most of the time tbh.
fantastic
Isn't having the heroes escape at the last minute or pull out a gadget at the last minute a Deus ex Machina?
God from the machine.
There's no ultimate price to pay for their actions? Did the writers of this understand what a prison is? How is spending years of your life in a cage not a price to pay for crime? The price is your time.
I would have thought magneto was a bigger villain in the xmen comics, especially after onslaught was created.
great story
the fight was bad ass at least
Please do Helena wayne earth-2 earth-2 society and earth-2 society annual. Please! love you!
MLG___xXXxxx I actually liked it, Bruce didn't steal the spot light in a Nightwing Comic, he gave Dick the Spotlight yet he wasn't helpless.
i loved this ending
A clandestine organization built on world domination, I see what you did there lol
I thought Dick's parents where called John and Marry.
whats not to like about Nightwing, he is better than Batman in every way
can you do a juggernaut series some time , you only have 1 video on him
I thought that Xavier's arch enemy was Megneto but I'm probably wrong.
this should be good
I'm new to comics and prefer reading by volumes, any good places to pick them up at? I can't think of any and I'd rather not order them all.
Wait wait... Charles Xavier, Juggernaut? I always thought it was Magnetto to be honest.
I agree that every hero should have his/her own "main villain", but Xavier's "main villain" is Magneto, not Juggernaut.
New 52 Red hood and the outlaws.
ComicEnthusiast? I want to forget that this series ever happened lol
ComicEnthusiast? Red hood and outlaws rebirth is soooo much better
I agree
That sudden and inevitabile plot device...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus_ex_machina
Charles Xaviors main villain is Juggernaut? Umm no! It's Magneto
Raptor is a more realistic street lvl villian in terms of mindset
Batman's- logic I'm not gonna kill you, I'm just not gonna save you either
Me- that's still murder dude
Captain America- I kill only when it's necessary son
Me- I guess you were a soldier in the one of worse points in history
Aquaman- I did what was necessary
Me- you couldn't call superman
Spider-man- nobody dies!
Me-except Qwen Her dad Jamison's wife your clone ect
not saving someone is not murder.
ya, not even a little
TheMainman Boiii its criminal negligence.
it was a derailed train. I think batman would win the case
Also that mostly applies to driving under the influence. If someone is standing in the middle of the road and a trucks coming, and you have time to jump in front and save them you're not going to jail if you don't. The government can't force people to be heroes.
Do Beta Ray Bill next
7:15 Who raised Bruce Wayne......Bruce Wayne???
what Robin is from Teen Titans. Also could you DO A VIDEO on all the different Robins. It's a little confusing. thanks great videos
