I've got to say....It's good to see a relationship forming between Black Canary and Oliver again. DC Rebirth is doing a great job of fixing the mistakes of New 52, but still being new and not just a throwback to the 80's. Go DC!
Hi there Rob I'm 16 and a big fan of your work... This may sound a little strange but I've always related to Clark Kent, Believe me I'm no superman; but I've always had a gift for bringing out the best in people( that I think is Clarks true power). It became a little game of mine pointing out parallels between the lives of the big blue and I and it became especially helpful when my father was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. Recently in October he passed, and I can truly say I'm humbled by the kindness shown to me and my family, I'm thankful for every gift that people have given me. So I'd like to thank you, you may not realize this but your video on earth two Superman specifically the one on one Clark had with his father truly helped me to work out my pain. At first when I heard it, I was astounded; those slides might as well have been A script from some of my most private thoughts... And you'll never know how special that was to me. So thank you again and keep up the good work.

Damn! For a minute I thought you were going to mention the story Kevin Smith wrote awhile back. That was a cool Green Arrow story.
So I'm sure many of you guys missed this, but Diggle and Green Arrow fighting on a bridge over shallow water only to become friends at the conclusion is basically an analog for Robin Hood and Little John's first encounter.
This was always my favourite style of Green Arrow story, really glad to get a new take on broke Ollie

i tell you man, I've been a fan of your videos for a while now, and I honestly can't believe that you don't have more subscribers than you do now. I mean your content is great, easy to follow along with, helps older comic fans relieve some of his/her favorite stories while also introducing an easy to catch up on the past way for newer generation comic fans to join in on the fun. And to top all that you have a really likeable personality. I mean Christ sakes man bravo, you really are one of the better TH-camrs around and you deserve all the praise.

I'm starting to read Rebirth with only knowledge frome tv shows, movie and a little wikipedia. Altough I like my reads on it's own (rebirth do a good job for newbie I think), this channel really help me to get the full spectrum of meanings. It's very cool and helpful. Thank you!

that was the best one in a long time..returning the character to their roots ..that's what is great about DC rebirth..the characters we grew up reading about are now returning..I hope Ben percy continues on this theme that he has established around Team Green Arrow and can't wait for the "Emerald Outlaw" storyline to begin!

Green Arrow literally started as an archery-themed Batman with an Arrow car, Arrow boat, Arrow cave, possibly a signal, along with Speedy being like Robin and him being a billionaire playboy. That's information that's on the internet.
My favorite DC character!! To me the greatest hero DC has and in a crossover Clint and Oliver on the same side as Avengers could save the world!. And talk mad shit while doing it! Widow and Canary would be epic too!

Clark's glasses are the best disguise in all of comics.
Ben Jenkins I remember one of the Golden age comics where Superman berates Lois Lane for never seeing through the disguise...though in another comic it's explained that he hypnotizes Metropolis through a TV station.

In the live action version they should cast Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jamie Dornan, or Toby Stephens.
Justin Marks 'Supermax' idea would display how skilled Queen is as a regular human being against metahumans.
Interweave that story with his origin before and during the 'treacherous training facility/island' and you have a solid introduction to Green Arrow.
[Beginning] of the First Storyline/in his 20s in Star City: The arrogant, brash, heir to the billionaire Robert Queen is a disciplined, vicious, and calculating business brat that is trained as a black belt in Krav Maga... only to bully other rich kids at expensive night clubs and rich business deal dens.
[Beginning] of the Second Storyline/years after arrival on the island: Bloody, physically beaten, yet clearly brash and alert, Oliver is being dragged through a technologically advanced prison facility where various voices and faces are riotous throughout the scene.
The film builds all the way up to resolutions to both storylines: 1. The sinister motive behind someone stranding him on an island that specializes in training soldiers to kill metahumans, primarily the Justice League. 2. His harrowing escape from the prison then island and coming face to face with the person or organization that put him there.
Hire a gritty director like Gareth Evans with an engaging action writer like Ken Nolan and a heavy dose of MINIMAL STUDIO INTERFERANCE... magic.

Lemire's run on Green Arrow was the best run on new 52 Green Arrow and one the best in character history and I've been loving Green Arrow Rebirth, is my second favorite DC book now with Superman Rebirth been the first.
Juan Ferreyra's art is spot on perfect for this.

this is why i like green arrow(both in the show and in the comics) more than batman. ollie and bruce had gone through some dark shit, but you don't see ollie brooding and bitching and taking it out on the people close to him. oliver tries to be a good person. now a days, batman stories are not crimefighting. it's all more or less the same: some random psychopath villain vs batman, which more or less ends with batman saying "i face loss and get stronger" or "this is gotham" or some shit like that. oliver fights real crime, for people in the streets, as a social crusade, something bruce had forgotten. for batman, bruce wayne is more or less a facade, a mask. for green arrow, he still uses oliver to do good. hell, there was a time when oliver was even the mayor(both in the comics and currently now in the tv show).
bruce has endured trauma, but oliver tries to go on with his life. he has a sister. he has a girlfriend. hell, sometimes green arrow has killed in the comics. those moments came across as human and fallable, something which i'm sure batfans argue that their batlord is, but every time you pit another hero against their batlord, they'll say "OH BATMANN WINZZ CUZ BATMAN AND PREP TIME AND SHIT". hell, there was an arc in the comics where oliver realises his whole life has been a fucking lie(read:green arrow -the kill machine and green arrow-outsiders' war, both written by the great Jeff Lemire.)
sorry about the long rant, but sorry, oliver queen does not get much love and some so called "comic book fans" dismiss him as "OH HE A BATMAN RIPOFF BUT HAZZ BOW AND ARROWZZZ".
Hey Rob. Great video as usual. Thanks for all of the content. I do have a suggestion for a video. The history of Hydra. It took control of SHIELD in the MCU and in Agents of Shield, it was stated that their sole purpose was to get this inhuman off of this one planet. What is up with that? Please explain if it is something you think would make a good video.

Rob, the current one intro with the youtube logo is getting old pretty fast. This seems to be more an issue lately as you're making 2x as many videos as you used to. Just having a few others intros to use to break things up would help greatly.
Also, Pa Kent vs Uncle Ben in a throwdown. This wouldn't be a fight in the normal sense, but a conflict between the ideology, strength of morals, and the behavior and character they imparted upon Superman and Spiderman.
Stephen Amell is AMAZINNNNNNG ( the way Rob says it ) it is not his fault CW does a wanna be Batman with the character of Green Arrow. LOL

Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Green Lanterns are my top 3 favorite opening arcs for Rebirth that first few months

A bit off topic, but isn't it amazing that a non-powered character who uses his vision to perform his heroing wears a costume that actively obstructs his vision? The domino mask is bad enough, but excusable given how close it is, but the hood? Man, that destroys peripheral vision and would so easily get in the way when you draw the bow. I wonder how many outtakes there are from the Arrow tv show with the hooded characters drawing the hood onto their eyes.
I know this is green arrow but you mentioned the court of owls are international. Batman was like "International? Get the fuck out of my city." Love Batman.

v.v You implied that Batman just uses brute force. This is not true, but he also doesn't "just throw money at it". Part of the reason Bruce is now worth so much, something like 1 in 3 businesses in Gotham are financed by Bruce, free medical services (which includes services for villains like Killer Croc) are paid for by him provided by Leslie Thompkins, he finances several orphanages, is the provider of scholarships, has work release programs, etc. It is in fact not Batman's first impulse to brute force criminals. He not attempts to talk to criminals before they start their crimes he also gives them information that if they follow up on they will get jobs and such.
The fact is Gotham would be a wonderful place to live, especially if you're broke and down on your luck, if not for the villains, and it is because Bruce Wayne being pretty open about providing a helping hand on every level so long as you seek them out and are willing to put effort into things at a base level.
What Rob's saying that Green Arrow gets intel from the streets with money and Batman doesn't rely on that approach when it comes to villains.

newb bee Cerebus was fantastic, but just look at Rob's subjects. He only sticks to superhero comics, and only to the big 2, DC and Marvel. I don't think he's the kind of fan who would appreciate Cerebus tbh.
He probably likes them, as he likes comic books so much it might spill over into all of them and cause him to be interested in them. The problem is that it won't get as much views, which are important to him getting food as far as I know.

PwnyGOD honestly you should read rebirth, all the books I've read are amazing in terms of quality and they're not that expensive. Rebirth is sorta fixes the things that people hated in the new 52.

I do not know much about Arrow. I always thought he was a billionaire only because I watch the animated show as a kid and Batman had said he sold his company or a company for a billion dollars.

I'm assuming you are talking about the Green Arrow Rebirth TPB?? Cuz it's simple. Rob reads the individual issues, titles the vid the same as the TPB, and talks about the issues that it collects
If he didn't respond to you the first many times you asked then that means he doesn't want to tell you. If it's not the case that he doesn't want to tell you then you need to figure out how to contact him via direct methods rather than this comments section.

Aryan Ghomi Answering in the comments section or not is his prerogative, not ours. If he chooses to answer people's questions in the comments section then more power to him. If he chooses not to answer any question and it result in him losing his audience (which would be really unlikely) then that would be his lost. No matter what, he is under no obligation to answer anyone so if someone continuously kept asking the same question in the comments section with no avail, then it would be a waste for that person to keep repeating that question via the same communication method. Sometimes, to get a sure answer in respect to certain questions that could be deemed sensitive to the uploader/author, it is better and probably more time-saving to contact the author/uploader via other "direct" means because he might be more open for a private conversation. E.g. TH-cam message/mail, email, etc.

I love Arrow cause I got hooked on it from the show.
Only thing I don't like about the tv show is Oliver somehow manages to train people like Laural lance into some supeer fighter, then with his sister speedy. It's so unrealistic, it's like anyone and everyone can become part of team arrow.
CrazyAGamers his sister was trained by Malcolm Merlin for a year when she went to live with him for a while and he was League of Assassins trained. Laurel trained with Wild Cat for a while before Oliver as well, though she did learn a bit too fast probably just not as fast as you make it seem.
What about this season. He trained the tech guy that helps Felicity? he was some gay tech dude, a pussy at the begining of the show, boom, he;'s not some top tier fighter lol.
