They had me rolling about being able to read a small book in one week.
While competing in a PBA Tournament, and 240 pages isn’t really that “small” that is basically about the average length of a book

I used to have mixed feelings about Kyle. I'm sold now. He's a good kid. I love his draw. Being from Texas we speak the same language. When I was bowling juniors in the 80s, I would come home to watch the PBA tour and I remember Guppy with those sunglasses and those disco pants. 😂 Good times. Here's to the great sport of bowling. 🍻

Kyle Troup is a legend and true honest great man. Finally met him the week before the US Open, here in Louisville. Really great down to earth and stand up guy. Can never give too much praise his way

Kyle Troup was the calmest I have ever seen someone in the final game of a televised tournament. He looked like a guy reading on the morning train going to the office. So cool! Reading is fundamental! 🏆
1st time you're up for a big event like that, whether it's the final match of some little local tournament, PBA TV, or just the 1st time you've started a game with 8 or 9 strikes, there's a bit of pressure.
Gets a lot easier once you've won before.

Every match looked like the other person was going to win (besides the opening match).
Major props to Kyle, making the sick ball change mid match and not making any big mistakes.

If you have to claim a rerack before looking at the pins what do you do it if say the headpin is a 1/4" off after looking at the rack?
I was wondering the same thing. Makes no sense.
I thought they could ask for a re rack as long as they didn’t pick up their ball. In past telecast they said re racks were used for calming down, icing the opponent or a bad rack. How do you know without looking at it?
@@NathanMoist The rule is first order of business. So if you look at the pins before doing anything else and then ask for it, I think you're fine.

Randy must be a fan of the New York Jets. I heard him call Zach Wilkins "Zach Wilson" twice.
That first ball EJ threw in the ninth sailed on him because of the urethane carry down. It could literally have not come at a worse time. I feel for him because there is no way to see it. You don’t have any frames left to adjust, just a horrible break, horrible timing for it to happen. Congrats to Troup, he’s becoming a real force on the tour.

Kyle is by far the best two handed in the tour. One of the few two handed I like, very solid game. I was cheering for EJ but it is what it is.
Kyle is not better than Belmo or Simo. And "by far"? Did you just start watching bowling last year???

I feel like he’s been struggling under pressure recently. He’s pretty young though; surely he’ll only get better and better with more experience.

bowling has a lot of luck to it, fortunately though you can do things to increase it
If it’s that consistent, do you really think it’s luck? A bowler who gets their ball to the pocket with more energy is going to get better pin action and more “lucky” breaks.

@@odellus You obviously don’t play or watch bowling very frequently. A “perfect shot” will always strike. If you don’t strike, there is always an adjustment to be made.
Also, saying that you shouldn’t be able to win by missing is genuinely stupid. Why don’t you use that brain of yours to come up with a nice long list of all of the Olympic sports where luck and/or some form of probability/randomness isn’t a factor at all? Go ahead, I’m curious!

Troup doing self talk out loud on the approach and reading a mindset book between shots is kinda funny ngl. I respect it though.
Game 3 when Troup asked if they could wait to speak till after his approach was done, something to mitigate that would be to put the casters into a booth that's not fully sound proof, but will stop at least lower level talking from getting to the players ears during the match. Just something that might be able to be done so commentary can happen though the whole game and not just between shots.
You'd think a fiberglass partition, like a cheap version of those that drummers use, would suffice. That said, at the risk of generating "OK, Boomer" comments (although I'm actually an X'er), I would prefer they just talk qat a near-whipser in those moments, if at all. Like Schenkel and Burton, or on-course golf announcers. I like the seriousness and solemness of it. Bowling doesn't need to sound like the X games. Perhaps they've done the research and this is what gets better ratings, though.

I don't understand it. That is why you throw a straight ball at spares. You don't know where the oil is.
I assume you’re talking about 1:26:45. It’s almost always better to hook at spares that involve a sleeper pin, including the 2-4-8. The overwhelming majority of professional bowlers hook at those for a reason.
Also, they do know where the oil is; they know the exact pattern they’re bowling and they’ve all bowled many games on it before this stepladder final.
thanks for posting these but suggestion to not put the winner on the cover shot..it kinda ruins watching the telecast if you know the winner already..
Why can troup complain about the commentators talking during his approach, and they shut up for him the rest of the games, but they keep talking during all of his opponents approaches
You'd think that fro would insulate him from the sound.
I’ve been saying for years they should shut up during the approach half the time randy or Dave Ryan or this guy are yelling suddenly during and. Just before their release.
I’ve been to many shows and most of the pros grit and bear it, but it just takes away from the enjoyment for fans especially when you know it has affected the outcome of the shot.
Two things
1- EJ needs to get the book Troup was reading. Too many late game miscues and negative thinking. He should be above Belmo right now.
2- Anyone notice Randy & John are more often getting dinged by the players for talking too loud while they are bowling? This time it was Troup. It has happened a few times in recent weeks. John definitely does not like "dead air".
