Honestly, I would too but I’d work systematically so that it wouldn’t touch my feet. It’s more-so because what shoes would you wear? Personally I don’t own wellies and I don’t want to ruin my other shoes or wear wet sneakers, so I’d wear flip flops. It’s easy enough to disinfect your feet and shoes. Although for how bad her deck was I might’ve considered wearing sneakers with plastic bags taped around them, but for a normal throw-up cleanup flip flops are fine.

I suffer from severe depression and I feared that I would be too depressed to care for my sphynx cat when I got him but although taking care of myself isn’t easy, taking care of him was the easiest task I’ve ever been given. It’s not hard to take care of something when you truly love them in my opinion, taking care of something or someone sometimes even helps taking care of yourself! I don’t know her situation or what caused her to not properly care for her dogs but I hope she’s in a better place mentally and is able to take care of them now
That's great! Cats are definitely different than dogs though.
That is not an uncommon reaction in people with depression. The hard part is knowing how to love yourself not how to love others. My friend said her test when she was depressed was 'would it be OK for someone to treat my sister like that' to try and retrain her brain to value herself as much as she valued the people she loved. I hope your cat can continue to help you.
I don’t know why, but I had the feeling that a severely depressed person getting a pet that they quickly grow to love and care for, could help them with their condition, and help them care for themselves.
I wanted to implement this with one of my friends characters that had been dealing depression from an early age, but I wasn’t sure if that would work in real life.

I thought that was just me, when I feel depressed and sad I still get up because I know my animals have no one to care for them. So even if I don’t take care of myself I still get up and take care of them
i'm a messy, disorganized procrastinator but ive never left dog poop lying around my house. i feel better about myself now

Due to procrastination and depression it had been over a year since I cleaned my room but my new puppy likes to sleep with me and I didn't want him to be in an environment like that so I spent a while deep cleaning my room and throwing things out that I don't need so that my puppy has a clean environment to be around. I also feel so much better for it too!

The fact that her friend has to tell her it's serious because her only response is "okay" is incredibly sad. I don't understand why Victoria didn't take her dogs away, same with the guy who literally abused them physically. You _have_ to do what's right for the dogs.

Who knows what Victoria did after leaving? I expect she did report them but it wouldn't be considered good for the ratings by the producers, so they don't show that. I cannot imagine she would drive away and have peace of mind without reporting them. She clearly genuinely loves dogs.
Victoria doesn't legally have the right. If she simply removed the dogs, the owners would be easily able to sue, take the dogs back and also be awarded damages. Her responsibility is to report the owners to those who do have that right and provide the evidence she filmed to them. We have no way of knowing whether or not she did or if she did and they did nothing about it; those sorts of things aren't televised.
The common problem people have with small dogs is that people don't realize that they're still dogs, not furniture or fashion accessories. It doesn't matter that they're only five pounds and covered with soft, silky hair, they still need someone to walk them and train them.
This was exactly the thing I just told a friend of mine who has an 8 mo french bulldog. He told me if the puppy was a GSD he wouldn't have an arm anymore because he bites. But he thinks it's just his "chewy phase". Yeah, no. I told him that chewing and biting on an ankle and a chew toy are not the same thing, for gods sake. I hope they will do something about it.

Yeah my dog Yuki took sometime to train and she pooped in our stairs we had to get it sanitized and cleaned but we later realized that she only pooped in our house when we didn't walk her but, when we did she didn't. So now after my online classes finish i take her out and now we are all very happy! 😄
Yep realised that the hard way. Didn't really train my dog. Never officially housetrained him although he does his business mostly outside he'll still pe and poo in the house. He's 10. Didn't walk him either as we had his brother as well and we didn't think we needed to walk or socialise them as we have a fairly big garden. My sister was obsessed with Paris Hilton at the time and wanted a handbag dog. Although they became family dogs, I think we now know what not to do when training a dog. When I get my new puppy I'm using the living dog as a handbook of what NOT to do. We didn't even train him to sit until now and he'll mostly only sit when we're eating or near the fridge as he expects food 🤣
Can't really walk him as he has a heart problem.
That being said we do clean up after him obviously and would never let it get this bad but PSA TRAIN AND WALK YOUR BLOODY DOGS
I so agree with you. So often people with small dogs let them get away with bad behaviour. In situations where the dog bites the owner's friend, they think it's cute that their dog is protective of them.
I live along the way to the dog park, so I have a lot of dog traffic outside my home, and I also notice how people let their small dogs bark. It's painful to observe poorly behaved and poorly socialized dogs.
Lastly, leaving your dog(s) at home for 12 hours is plain cruel.

Had a roommate like this that neglected her dog all the time. She'd either leave it locked in her room all day or let it roam and do its business everywhere and tear out the trash, scattering it everywhere. The other roommate put her plunger in the kitchen sink. Worst roommate situation ever 🤦🏻

Im depressed and an alcoholic. But never have I ever let my puppy or my husband deal with living conditions like this! Even when my puppy potties outside i pick up and wipe as much as I can. @@blob1878 When i moved with my parents we had a pit bull and we had to put him down due to old age and my dog Ember stopped eating and it got to the point where we had to take her to the vet, it’s weird because she never liked our pit bull or any other dog but when he died she stopped eating, we still had an entire container of our pit bulls food to so she would start eating that but when we ran out and got her new food (the same brand but smaller pebbles) she wouldn’t eat it so now we just give her leftovers of our food if it’s dog friendly.
I think she does care, but lacks knowledge and responsibility.

I have severe depression and struggle to clean my room. It can get very bad. I’ve got 3 pet rats but no matter how depressed I am I always make sure their cage is clean and are they treated well and they are loved
Edit: for anyone who cares. All 3 rats are happy and healthy and I’m doing a lot better. I now have 6 rats in total
Edit 2: 2 of the original 3 died from old age but the rest are going strong

When my new kitten do it inside I clean it and use it to show him where to go. As soon as my cats mark territory inside, I clean it up immediately, if I'm there, with strong bleach to deter them

I'm 15 and I have my own dog, who is a Mastiff mix. He's very gentle with children and adults, playful, and obedient.

A dog is like a 3 yr old child. They can't clean up their own messes, and make mistakes. But they're always loving, and want to learn, and WILL LEARN if given the proper instructions.
If you can't take care of yourself and your own messes, just don't get a dog. Get a fish or sum, but not a dog.
I really hope she does learn her lesson from this or we'll see her on another show down the line... hoarders. Hoarding is a disorder that gets harder to treat the longer it goes untreated. 🤞 early intervention like this can be the wakeup call someone needs to prevent a problem from getting much worse. Yay for Victoria giving these ladies and puppers a second chance!

My mom is really sick and I always ask her to take me for a walk and go together but she’s always sick so I can’t. So I really want a dog (my mom suggests a big dog) so I can go for a walk with her/him and I can go with somebody and I can be safe.

my boyfriend and i have a small dog that i care for when he goes on long business trips. she (the dog) pooped in the house once because she wasn’t feeling well and it was genuinely one of the worst things i’ve ever smelled. it was so bad it woke me up from a deep sleep. i can’t IMAGINE leaving that poop there for days, especially with other people in the house?! i’m so glad the owner made a serious effort to change for the sake of the dogs, they seem much better off!

I did exactly that and a lot of research before adopting so I will be prepared and have an idea about how to handle dogs with issues. Well it worked like magic at first and even adopter was suprised how much my dog come along untill my dog attacked by some douchebag's dog. We're still working on it but still a bit hard this time. Before the attack, my reactive dog(who used to be stray then stay in shelter), was ignoring even a dog barking at him and not even look at the dog if I say watch me.

A good additional starting point are these two free ebooks www.simpawtico-training.com/learning/downloadables/ they are written primarily for puppys but a lot of stuff is also useful for older dogs. They are written by a well renowned veterinarian behaviourist. I can recommend them to anyone getting a dog

No its all pets, when you randomly change your pets diet its body can not handle the change so it ends up vomitting which is why she should have slowly added the new food in little by little until they are only eating the new food

@@roosterescreamingsunset1878 correct. this doesn't happen all the time, with every animal or every food. however, when you've been feeding your animal the same food for a long time, you should always transition when changing their diet. every animal's gut has its own bacterial environment (called "gut microflora") that it uses to break down food, and it adjusts to whatever that animal is eating! including you (which is why eating probiotic yogurt helps stomach problems, for example).
if the animal's gut isn't used to digesting a particular food, it can make them feel sick. another human example would be vegans eating meat after maintaining a vegan diet for years, or vice versa. something that's perfectly digestible will make you feel sick because your body just isn't used to digesting it.

If she works “so late” why does her friend say he gets bit DAILY, and the others seem like they come over a lot too. I think she should spend that time with her dogs and then invite friends if you have time.
Edit: I’m sure she does work late, my point is that instead of inviting friends over, she should walk and play with her dogs
You can do both. Even if I have friends over I'll tell them "hey I need to walk my dog, you can come with me or stay here until I get back" regardless my dog deserves her walks.
He said he's been bitten once every time he's been over, not that he's been bitten daily.

Once my dog got really sick and my mom would never even if she was exhausted just let her be sick my mom would watch her for hours and worried non stop
well i lately had discovered i will losse eyes sight in about 10 months or sooner and it cant be helped but my cat has been a huge help to cheer me up and handle my future in a more peacefull way pets are the most amazing thing a human can have its a different kind of love and im happy i have him

Dog can get sick, could eat somethingthey shouldn't eat. It could happen but you should still have to clean it up immediately! It's a common sense. And call the vet if it's happening more often.

I grew up in a house just like this except it was a hoarder house and we had five dogs. they just went to the bathroom wherever they wanted and my parents made me clean it up. I love animals but I can’t be around dogs anymore.
edit; I know it’s not the dogs fault that my parent are terrible, dogs just remind me of the trauma.
So sorry to hear that. Perhaps therapy would help? Hate to hear that you don't even have the possibility of experiencing having a dog. Therapy could help you take control again.

I'm a dog owner myself and struggle to clean my house at times but I never leave my dogs poop or puke on the floor for three days , I always make sure to clean it up and make sure that they go potty outside before leaving the house for work
So basically all they do is take their dogs for a “walk” over to a grass patch on their porch? Come on, at least take them outside twice a day.
Still need an area for them inside too
Dogs need to be taken for walks 3-4 times a day, not twice a day.
@@AgentAnime95 It depends on the dog's breed and age too. My old shih tzu who's turning 18 only needs a 10-minute walk once a day, but a shih tzu puppy who's more energetic might need a 15-minute walk twice a day. And bigger dogs like golden retrievers definitely need more.
@@AgentAnime95 I think walks per day is a bad metric. I typically just do yard time instead. I rarely take my girl on neighborhood walks since she prefers to play fetch in our large yard instead. She gets outside fetch for 1-2 hours a day and 1-1.5 hour hikes on the weekend. I can tell she prefers that set up so much more than walking around an empty neighborhood.
But yeah, outside time and activities together are so important and fun for dogs!
@@AgentAnime95 definitely depends on the dog. Not every dog needs 4 walks, mine goes on 2 a day and the one at night ill let her off the leash and let her run for some additional time.

I think the touch training was an amazing idea from Victoria, I personally have done it with my dog as well and it is a super useful skill to have with your dog, if they are off the leash and running around and you yell "touch" they will come running back to you. But in this case especially, that dog has now been given the choice of touch for a treat, people used to just touch her without any warning, people she had no relationship with. With this exercise you are creating a relationship but also giving the dog the choice and allowing them to touch you not the other way around. Super good job!!!
