What is surfacer? I also made my model covered with wall putty...what to do after that...is there any other name for surfacer.
Surfacer is a easy sanding paint used to filled surface irregularities. U can directly apply color without surfacer also.

Hi Mate ...as usual video is nice..one question if you achieve same thing with steel panel then why you use fiberglass... With steel panel its easy to make with high durability with good color finish compare to fibre glass..
Yes we can use metal too but fibreglass is more light weight, anti corrosion, design a shape without welding. This scoop can be fixed using double sided tape in Any car without welding like we use to buy from local market.

It weight to much, rust and dents very easy.. Fiberglass is easy to maintain.

U can choose either metal or fibreglass. For fibreglass u have to make a template before moulding
With the gel coat preparation step, i just need to get fiberglass gel coat? Seen on amazon it has wax in it, is that what you use?
If you don't use a resin or gelcoat with wax added the piece will harden with a tack, meaning it will be sticky. It will only dry fully in a non oxygenated environment or with wax.
