- How did you spend your quarantine? Jimmy Buffett asked the fans to tell him which songs, not in his usual repertoire, would they like to hear? Within minutes, over 10,000 tracks were requested. Some songs he had to re-learn as it's been so long since he played them! Directed by Jimmy's daughter, Delaney Buffett, the docuseries is an inside look of the stories and inspirations of the songs.
The series has become a fan favorite which of course evolved into recording his favorites with producer/bandmate Mac McAnally and Coral Reefers Peter Mayer and Eric Darken. Available at: smarturl.it/SYDKBH
Rest in peace Jimmy. I named my daughter Delaney in 1998. Had Rose picked out but listened to my Fruitcakes on tour 94 when I was about 8 months pregnant and forgot how much I loved this song. Her name became Delaney Rose. I cried today learning you died. I’m 56 and you and your music have been such a part of me and my husband’s 36 year relationship. We will miss you. Thank you for all the great songs and memories you’ve blessed us with.

Laughing as I listen and read the comments. We chose the name Delaney for our daughter just before she was born in March 1999. She grew up as a Jimmy fan, remains one today and is a good practitioner of the humorous life.
Grew up listening to jimmy. I don't know why, but this song really stuck with me as I got older. To the point where my wife and I named our first born Delaney. We're gonna miss you, Jimmy.
I’ll be honest, I’m blown away now, knowing what he was going through and seeing him singing so comfortably - positive as ever. Jimmy continued to share his joy with us right until the end. What a great example this man was!

Delaney…what a treasure you created with all these shorts with your dad. He was the best friend to millions, but how great that he was your dad. Thank you for sharing him with us. His stories of his songs make those songs 10 times better.
My daughter Delaney got her name from this song. I saw Jimmy the last time a few months after my daughter died, and I was praying he would play this song….thank you for sharing it here. ❤

My dad and I will be dancing to this song at my wedding in the Bahamas in February. Hopetown. We saw Jimmy Buffett, my first concert. Delaney- my heart is with you. This is the only song in the world that has my name. My dad and I danced to it many times in key west when I was little. My best memories.

It was my honor to DJ a private Jimmy Buffett Day party. A great evening of music and friends reminiscing of the amazing memories surrounding Jimmy and his music. What a legacy he left, a style like no other. Musician, businessman from humble beginnings. Rest in peace, good sir.
My deepest sympathies to you Delaney and to your sister and brother and your mother. These songs that Jimmy specifically wrote about each one of you or family just really makes it difficult not to cry. We will miss Jimmy, his fascinating stories, wonderful writing but will continue to always listen to and always enjoy his music. Thank you for sharing this collection of videos, stories, photos, music and time with Jimmy, your dad, with us. We lived near Sag Harbor in the 90’s. Watching JB land his seaplane was always pretty cool 😎💛😎 We would hang over in the bay near him….we always called it Jimmy Buffett Cove. And it was my One Particular Harbor! Delaney’s song always touched my heart. Jane and Jimmy were a cherished couple in our community. They did a benefit concert in 1994, I think. One of my most special live concerts! Fins to the left!

I've got something in my eye
Now that my dear JB has passed away I am grateful that Delaney and JB made this series of videos. I am going to miss him probably more than any other musical artist of my life, he allowed me to escape my sometimes sad childhood in the 80's/90's and gave me a life full of wonderful memories. I still feel blessed to have met him in Key West in 2005, he was incredibly gracious and kind! I will miss you JB!

Always wish I had heard this song live! Love it my baby girl who will be 23 on the 15th of September was named after you! We spelled it different Delani. But when I told my husband I wanted to name a girl Delaney he said like JB daughter. So my baby girl is Jordan Delani. Your father will be missed he was a great storyteller. My hubby always said he was a pirate born 200 years too late. Love to you and the family!

What a wonderful memory to watch today
I often come back to this video to watch it. This was the song my dad always sang with me as a kid. We grew up on the beach and Jimmy Buffet was always our soundtrack. If I ever get married, this will be the song ill chose to dance with my dad to. Thanks for the memories Jimmy.

Heartfelt thanks for the inclusion of this song on the new album and rotation on the current tour. Back 26-27 plus years ago the Fruitcakes album was out while we were expecting our first (Had twins) and I quickly gravitated to this song and long story short named our first born Delaney. The song has created a special bond with my daughter and not a birthday goes by that I don't share it with her. When I heard it live during this year's concert I couldn't pick up the phone fast enough to have that moment with her. Thank you again for a wonderful song.

Another song I was not familiar with. Jimmy is gone now a little over a year and it still hurts. But it is such a blessing to have all of his music and his interviews and features on TH-cam.

Absolutely love the banter between father and daughter, so cool. My niece is named Delaney. And , yes of course the inspiration came from the story. In my humble opinion, the majority of your art consists of stories, it is not accurate to call them songs. One of my favorite songs. I wanted to name my daughter Delaney, but I lost. Regardless, I think of her when I hear this song and get lost in the beauty of this story. Love between a dad and a daughter. It must be wonderful to be able to write a story, make it into a song and touch others. Jimmy is the best.

We lost our daughter at six months.
When we found we were pregnant, we set up a whiteboard in our bedroom, for names - boys and girls.
She was gonna be a girl.
Her name was decided on as ... Delayney Marie Nixon.
Delaney was so perfect.
She'd have had the nickname Laney, which rhymed with both my wife's maiden name, Langley - and our beloved Golden Retriever's name, Chaney ...
We lost her in the third trimester.
I was a ski bum and fishing guide.
Between my summer and winter seasons back in those days, between Alaska and Colorado - I'd go wherever Jimmy was.
San Fransisco, Portland, Cincinnati, St Louis, Ft. Lauderdale, Irvine Meadows, etc.
I love this song, and would've named my daughter Delaney.
It's funny about Jimmy Buffet.
He wasn't a great singer or musician.
He was an INCREDIBLE lyricist and writer.

We had a boat when our kids were little and kept it in the water near Lake Michigan. My daughter and I would always sing this song together as we went to get breakfast for Mom...

I am going to miss your dad and his performances so much. He’s been truly the soundtrack of my life as my dad and your dad were altar boys together and both graduated from McGill in the same class, a long history there.
