Actually, the background me voices were for the Environmental cabinet only. What you’re playing is the dedicated upright cabinet version.

I love Tron too, although there's another issue that you didn't mention. Disc of Tron attract mode freezes between 30 and 2 hours. It's doing it just about on everybody's machine. Hope they fix it with update. One thing that's a great add-on to your Tron machine is the aftermarket MCP S- panel mod. It makes my Tron cabinet look complete awesome! 👍

New subscriber here ;) My TRON cab is on the way; I'm a huge Tron fanatic and have to have this cab to go into my gameroom. Thx for the heads up about the monitor and assembling it, maybe I can save myself some hassle when it arrives in about a week. I think the cab looks fantastic. Thx much!

Now the LED black light isn’t just for Tron. It also activates throughout the cabinet and highlights in numerous areas.

I was curious to see how they would overcome the challenge of merging the vertical-screen Tron with the horizontal-screen DOT... sure, the result could have been better (and I do really miss the 3-D city background on DOT), but it is not bad. As someone who still owns working originals of both machines, this joystick is the same size but does feel "broken" in comparison; it lacks the heft and is overly-reactive, and while the original trigger buttons of both were a heavy, silent & smooth pull, this is stunningly harsh and clicky. So I like this... just with a few modest reservations.

Kind of surprised they didn't get the voices since the Star Wars game had them in, and their was a lot more A list actors in the movie than Tron which pretty much was a box office flop when it came out.

5:33 I can confirm, that was the worst part of buliding the Ms. Pac-Man when I got my stimulus and brought it home, most everything else went fine but trying to mount the monitor with those tiny brackets was a huge pain! this was super cool to see it all come together, looks super rad in the basement arcade game room!

Really nice honest review! It was nice to hear and see just some down to earth and honest feelings from a big fan of the license. I’m not even a giant Tron fan myself, but I think the cabinet is beautiful and that I’m happy that it exists. I’m enough of a fan of a few things that have either obscure or hard-to-find memorabilia for, that even if this thing is expensive, I think it’s SUPER cool for it to exist for Tron fans, because the alternative is to not have one at all, because it would be difficult and expensive to even find an original.
The WiFi issue with the favorited-friends sounds unfortunate, especially that it seems to be isolated to your unit. I wonder if that could be fixed.

I played the original tron in the 80's. There was no loud clicking from the buttons! The joystick was quieter as well! Also the joystick was lit on the top as well. Hate to break it to you, but tanks is the absolute easiest of the four! LOL! But then again I had an Atari 2600 with the included game Combat! So I had lots of practice even before I saw the Tron Arcade game at tank combat. And the Star Wars Arcade was a sit down version. These oneup versions seem smaller than the original. Which is disappointing, given the electronics are very basic, and then there is wood and plastic. I wish there was a company that was restoring and replicating to original specs. No wifi. Even if that meant finding a manufacturer to make old school tube displays and boards and chips!

6:00 of my god those white tabs are so miserable to try and screw in. It took me hours cause they just wouldnt line up properly

Does it accept quarters? I mean playing an arcade game, especially a fight game, you need to be able to line up your quarters against the screen so when someone else walks up they know its gonna be a long wait! Retro is only retro with the details intact.

Can't make up my mind if I want this cab or not. Maybe if it gets cheaper I might get pushed over the edge.
