What’s the bolt size I need for the seat belt retractor to the wall ?
Great informative video. Keep it up.
Please do a video on wiring up heated/cooled seats ❤ thanks for the videos
Do you have a vid on resetting the airbag light after replacing the seats ?
Do you not have a trim cover piece for where the seatbelts are bolted in on the bottom? For the 3rd row
I wonder if a 2020+ would work theres a conpany that sells them for dirt cheap around my house but im scared they wont fit
They won't.
I appreciate this video because I just bought a 2016 PI. A few questions. Does the support bar have to be removed to install 2nd row seating? Are all seats from the same year compatible and can be installed into a PI? Are there specific 2nd and 3rd row seating that fit into PIs? Thanks for the help.
The only thing that needs to be removed for 2nd row seating is the big steel brackets that cover area under where the 2nd row goes. The "X" support bar in the back can stay unless you also want to install 3rd row seats. All seats from 2011-19 Explorers are compatible as well as seats from a Ford Flex and I think similar year Lincoln MKT
@@depolicify thanks!!
Was that a shot gun shell?? LOL
Have you done a video on adding 3rd row seats that are electric? I found a great deal on a whole set but my only concern is the 3rd row being electric, could it be an easy swap? Do you have any experience with that? If so what all should I grab?
I haven't done it but it should be a simple swap, you would want to also get the control panel and as much wiring as you can get with it. The electrical workshop manual has all the diagrams.
@@depolicify you’re the man, thank you! I’ll probably be back haha.
I'm thinking of removing my 3rd row from 2013 explorer XLT. if anyone watching needs the seats to install, lmk?
What year were the replacement seats? I know the later year front seat wiring doesn't match the same years of the PIU.
These were from a 2013 sport into a 2017 PIU. Wiring matched up just fine.
Gotta ask. What bolt size are the seat bolts for the floor? I don’t believe my utility has the seats or bolts and I may have to source the bolts myself.
I am not sure on the thread sizes of the factory bolts. Your best bet may be running to a salvage yard to find all the hardware.

Do you have any tips to remove the headliner?
At the factory they install them through the front before the glass is installed. Your only good option now is through the back. Remove all of the pillar trim (4 per side), use torx to remove the sun visors and side brackets, unplug the harness in the Left A pillar and the two connection points for the rear washer hose in the right side. Get help to pull it from the back and someone inside helping maneuver. You will have to lightly bend the edges. If you’re careful it won’t crease. There are some round magnets that help hold it up.
