I was dignosed wth lupus in2001 but after 2 yrs of struggle i added home remedies like haldi .tulsi karda & homeopathetic & also avoided sun as much as possible.Mostly self discipline. This has kept me ok for 24 yrs.
Wow I never heard of anybody addressing Lupus. Thank you very much. You have no clue how much I appreciate you posting this video. I have to take leflunomide and hydrochoroquine. Presnisdone.
Lupus for me came out after a long struggle with lyme disease and co infections like babesia and rocky mountain spotted fever I fear many lupus patients may not know they could have disease but I'm trying to research all sides . Thank you for helping the best you can!
Can you do a video on how to heal leaky gut in individuals with lupus? I was diagnosed 6 yrs ago and was on high dosage of prednisone. Also took azathioprine, plaquenil and benlysta. Since I started taking control of my health because I don’t like taking these harmful medications, I have come off all meds except benlysta and plaquenil(which I slowly stopped taking). I changed the way my whole family eats cutting out processed foods and starting cooking from scratch. I even grind wheat berries to make fresh flour. At first I was on a very strict diet eating only vegetables and fruit but I lost so much weight and I already have a small frame. Although I’m still dealing with neuropathy in my feet and an overgrowth of candida in my gut, I feel so much better. Thank you for doing these videos!
I take a combo supplement of ashwaganda, rhodiola, and turmeric when brain fog and fatigue gets bad. Magnesium at nights, CoQ10, Vit. D, and fish oil every day. And a multivitamin with lots of B vitamins!
Great info! I've been taking Turmeric with black pepper, Vitamin D with K2, NAC (but only 600mg 1x/day, So I think I'm going to increase that) and dietary omega 3s, but I worry about how they can thin the blood so much - might switch to the pro resolving mediators and see how I like it. I also started Maqui Berry extract for dry eye (a symptom of lupus), and I've been taking MegaSpore probiotics and l-glutamine to address leaky gut (in addition to McDougall-type diet).
I have never heard of Maqui Berry for dry eye, I too have this but use eye drops/gel at night. I'm curious if Dr. Micah Yu will have a chance to comment on it.
I have very bad dry eyes problems too I have skin Lupus, told to take 9k gm of fish oil daily and plaquenine 200gm by my skin specialist and rheumatologist
Thank you for this video. I love your enthusiasm for the lupus cause! I’ve had lupus for about 10 years - was first diagnosed at 24. I do not have organ damage, but over the years have had a number of bacterial infections that have needed serious medical intervention due to the weakened immune system. Now a days my lupus is mostly under control through intermittent fasting and diet change, but I still deal with a lot of fatigue daily. Even cutting out dairy and gluten, sugars and processed foods, still, almost everything I eat makes me tired. I know I need to get started on some anti inflammatory supplements. This video has been a great help!
Wow! This was a lot of new information for me! I thought I’d heard it all about supplements lol but you really presented some interesting finds! Thank you so much!
Dr. Yu, thanks for the info. Can you explain to me my confusion. When you have autoimmune diseases, you take Prednisone to weaken the immune system. But taking these supplements strengthens the immune system and may interfere with the prednisone. Thanks, in advance.
I LOVE your videos and caring personality and glad I found your channel. I am back to supplementing with omega 3s again and excited to have found a vegan version due to my shellfish allergies. The other versions exacerbated my heartburn even more. I am having several autoimmune issues and hoping to be back in better health with some lifestyle changes.
I think a lot of us know about some of the suppliments, but the dosage and whether or not our bodies are converting the suppliments to the end product is something that I learnt here specifically on Omega 3s. I was including the Omega 3 oil suppliment in my diet for some time, but the inflammation was just not going down. Now i think I know my epigenetis may not be converting it. I will definitely include the pro resolving mediator from now on... Thank you for sharing ❤.
Hi, I was diagnosed SLE lupus back in 2010, I had joint pain. All my joints were excruciating throbbing pain and locks up my knee joints and wasn’t able to walk for a month. I just woke one morning in so much pain. Fast forward since then thank god I haven’t had a single episodes. I haven’t seen my rheumatologist doctor for about 10 yrs now & stopped taking plaquenil. Just this year my knee started to hurt, when I’m on my feet for 8hrs , I can barely walk in so much pain. I have told my regular doctor but he suggested me to see a therapist. Idk if this knee pain is connected to lupus or it’s just that I’m getting old and chunky. Doctor pls help me..
Dr. Yu thanks for the info. I take D3, liquid B12, Calcium for Supplements. I also use turmeric root and ginger root in my smoothies. Being a raw vegan has helped me to reverse my Lupus however I still have loss of hair and dry eyes and mouth at night. Will the last 2⃣ supplements mentioned, NAC and ??? help boost my immune? And where do I get these last 2 mentioned?
I know there is a lot of misinformation out there but if the Doc or anyone else knows - I have read in many areas of "Autoimmune diets" that the goal is reducing inflammation with foods but not eating or supplementing to "boost" the immune system; as the Autoimmunes are already over functioning? Is there any "unsafe" fruits, veggies or immune boosting supplements?
Im taking Calicum and Vitamin D, these 2 make a huge difference. Im also taking Vitamin C, Vitamin B-12, Omega 3. I also drink lemon ginger tea with a spoon of honey. Im not 100% sure but my intuition tells me to take zertec in the Spring time. That the pollen in the Spring time could cause a immune response causing my immune system to become over active. Im not sure there are any studies done on this.
I didn’t know nac was good for lupus I have had it since I was 13 in remission now for many years Iam 35 I take morninga, wheat grass, a good natural multiii, spirlina, hair skin nails and vitamin d and also nac!
I started taking lots of vitamin D , and iron with calcium for anemia everyday. When I forget a day for the iron I get extra lightheaded. Other than that I can’t tell differences in other symptoms but thankfully my labs have gone up in RBC and Vit D. Also, C4 went up (if that could be related) so I’m assuming it’s doing something , thanks for video
My name is Kathy, I had lupus when they only had pamphlet on it, I have the worse kind the joint and tissues, trying to find ways with food and vitamins to help, please let me know .
My hair then out I've been on lupus 10 years my hair never fell out but now it is.The clinic I go to they only give me 2 lupus bills but I was taking 5 pills bow the clinic doctor reduce my mess I started geting sick. Hair thinning, and skin sensitive to sun and sore n noise and mouth.
@@MYAutoimmuneMDIs there something in peanut products that can trigger inflammation? I notice when I eat peanut butter I hurt more. Also every protein powder I've tried makes me break out with a nasty rash and hurt too. Any advice is super appreciated!!
@@earleenejackson5207 you may be sensitive to peanuts or reacting to the inflammatory oil and sugar in the peanut butter. You may also be sensitive to any dairy in the protein powder as well as the artificial sweeteners in them.
I have nephrotic syndrome. I take Coq10 (antioxidant instead of NAC), turmeric (500 mg), garlic, cordyceps (last three suppress IL2, so anti -inflammatory), and prednisone. Supplements don't seem to help.
You should talk about vitamin D3 blood level >50 ng/ml and taking vitamin D3 (USP grade) with 1000 mg of omega-3 for absorption. Vitamin D3 is especially helpful for Lupus because of the photosensitivity keeps people from getting vitamin D3 from the sun.

Is it better tumeric or cucurmin?

I have been thinking the same about Zyrtec and allergies and inflammation due to a histamine response! There’s some connection there!
Calicum along with Vitamin D is a Must.
