Please do make a point of trying and featuring more J-beauty products in 2023! I find J-beauty gets overshadowed by K-beauty. My tried and true include the Hada Labo Hydrating Face Foam. It’s my holy grail face wash that I make sure I have a back up on hand at all times. It’s so gentle yet my face feels clean afterwards. The Minon Amino Moist Charge Milk is a mid weight moisturizer I use at night and have good results when I wake up in the morning. The Melano CC Moisture cream is a brilliant vitamin C moisturizer. The tube packaging keeps it fresh with no discolouration. I don’t hear anyone talking about the Kumano Cosme Hatomugi UV Milky Gel SPF. It has a hydrating texture with a pleasant light scent and is inexpensive. Naturie also makes a hatomugi skin conditioner toner that is a cult classic in Japan and is worth trying. I lugged a big bottle of it home in my suitcase and is also inexpensive and good for layering. The hatomugi (aka coix seed) ingredient is worth taking a deep dive for its skin benefits. Hope this inspires you to try some J-beauty!
Ah thank you so much for the recs! I did grab the melano cc (slowly but surely, I am determined to try more J-Beauty!) Taking notes of the rest of your recs 😃 And I agree, it’s been overshadowed for sure. Ironically, I think it’s because J-Beauty seems to keep things more simple - and TH-camrs are not good at keeping things simple (not going to lie lol). Hence K-Beauty took over TH-cam…but I gather that many people love the ease of J-Beauty. That’s my suspicion at least!
@@AliceintheRabbitHoleHa ha! Good observations! One more to add to the J-beauty list. Sana Soy Milk Moisture Toner. It took a bit for me to get past the saké like scent, but it’s a great toner.
K beauty has more varieties and they have more enthusiastic TH-camrs, and better marketing which means in English language. For me I can get easier access and information on Korean sites than Japanese.
i love hada labo hydrating face foam i got depressed when mine ran out, i now have two bottles in stock :) but i also got some cool new cleansers to try, that weird goat milk one and the barbara sturm one so ... ah, but its so good
Hey friends! I’m so sorry if you can hear the congestion in my voice. Had the “cold or allergies??” situation this weekend, but was determined to film this video regardless. Am fine now though, as these things go LOL Hope you all have a wonderful week and feel free to share your favs here as well! 😍🥰
Hihi, good to know you are feeling well now. I really like Isntree as well, I can't decide but I think Isntree might rank above BOJ for me. And yes, I agree, I think many K-beauty cleansers are drying. Haha, I guess u know why I am always here, even though we are miles apart and have different skin colours, I think u are the influencer that my skin type is probably closest to. Best of it all, you shared a lot of K-beauty which is cheaply available to me since I don't have to pay so much shipping costs being closer to S.Korea. Thank you. 🥰
Sorry if I'm duplicating another comment, but the hit '90s version of "Killing Me Softly With His Song" was by The Fugees (Lauryn Hill was in the group at the time). The '70s hit was recorded by Roberta Flack. I like them both, but I have to give it to Roberta Flack (LEGEND).
I bought the onion toner on your recommendation. I love it!! I’m on my third bottle with a 4th waiting in the wings:) I’d never have tried it if I had not seen your video:)
Awww YESSS so happy to hear you love it too! That one is severely underrated! And yes the purple bottle is aesthetically pleasing, isn’t it? Love love love that toner!
A LOt of these were on my radar and you’ve really convinced to pick up several (at some point because I already have sooo much 😂). Thanks for all you do ❤
Me side-eyeing the four backup tubes of BOJ eye cream in my storage 🙃 It’s my full-face retinoid because adapalene was too much. I get AMAZING results and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The texture sinks in like a dream while also supplying some moisture. The ingredient list blew my mind (niacinamide, peptides, etc). 1000/10
Love your video, so informative! I’ve been wanting to try K beauty products so badly, but the one thing I dislike is having to order stuff online and wait forever for it 😩 I’m such an impatient person lol. Someone needs to create a chain of K and J beauty stores, so we can actually go pick things up. Wouldn’t that be awesome? 😯
I am loving my K beauty routine. I'm always up for refining and improving my skincare. I really enjoy your favs and would love to see a morning and evening routine with those favs.
I just received my isntree hyaluronic acid toner based on your recommendation. Now I want the onion toner for brightening purposes!! Really appreciate your channel. Was so excited to see this in my recommended videos.
I’m soooo glad I found your channel! I’m a devoted K beauty gal but this video will enable me to augment my current skincare routine. I’ve been loving Meebak for cleansing and moisturizer however I use the Pyunkang Yul essence as well. The Benton Fermentation eye cream is amazing and totally changed the texture of my under eye areas even though I don’t have dry under eyes. So much so that my concealer applies even better and so beautifully, it just glides on. I’m anxious to try the Sulwasso Overnight Mask as I tried an essence (I think that’s what it was lol) from them that you use a couple drops and press it into your skin. Hopefully it’s not as expensive as Charlotte Tilbury’s overnight moisturizer which is amazing (I tried a sample and wowza) but I can’t afford to purchase at this time anyway. Thanks again! Now I’m off to check out more of your videos… 💖✨💕
I’ve never ordered from yesstyle but I want some new hada labo so this has come at the perfect time for me. I am after sunscreen and essence as I can’t get enough so thank you! Perfect timing
I absolutely love the dynasty cream. I was surprised you classified it as light! But we have different skin types I guess. A lot of time my skin feels very dry after I wash it. And I use gentle cleansers. But when I put products on it it can easily get greasy. I guess I’m probably still somewhat an oily skin type
Yes haha, I think that’s the funny thing about trying to categorize everything when each of us does have a specific skin type. I imagine oily types would call my medium-weight moisturizers heavier! Maybe you have more normal skin? That sounds like living the dream to me!! 🤣
Killing me Softly was first recorded by Lori Lieberman in 1972. Roberta Flack went to #1 in 1973 and the Fugees version came out in 1997. Roberta Flack and the Fugees have performed the song together. Love that song!!💖
My holy grail cleanser is Neogen Green Tea cleansing stick. I think it came out to compete with Sum37’s Rose cleansing stick which I used until it was discontinued about five years ago (it became so popular they weren’t able to source materials to keep up with the demand).
I see CosRx Advance Snail Mucin in pharmacies elsewhere in the world, even here in Singapore, but couldn't find it in Olive Young in South Korea lol. My whole take on this product is that it was targeted primarily at the international market, and when it became viral, only then did the domestic market in Korea pick up on it.
Not me making an entire wishlist/adding to cart everything I don’t already have from this video. 😭 Alice, you could sell ice to a polar bear. The skinfatuation is so real.
LOL that’s so funny you would say that as back when I worked in retail…mannn I was bad at sales 🤣 but yep, these are products that I dearly love AND they’re mostly very affordable! 😍
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I know! Just talking to my girlfriend about why we “NEED” these products is hilarious with everything we already have in our stash. We have a ritual of sorts when watching your videos where, when you talk about a product and then show the ingredients I turn and look at her and she goes “yup, you want that now don’t you?” And me going, “yes, yes I do.” “Babe, Alice loves this one!” is a common statement in this household. 😂
OMG this is the first time I saw someone talking about the sulwhasoo mask. I love it. I had to repurchase multiple times. The best overnight mask. Tried others like Laneige as well but they just don't do it for me.
I’m new to your channel but I love it. I’m overwhelmed by all these wonderful products. Could you please show me a routine in using them ! I need direction !!!
Sure can! Here ya go: th-cam.com/play/PLJ4CZy5eUVxrSnPb4cdzyCxFczVhlMV-u.html I basically do a “skin cycling” routine, wherein my AM routine is quick, easy, and based around vitamin c. Then I have a few different PM routines that I rotate through as needed 😃
I haven’t been able to tolerate retinoid eye creams after starting adapalene. I have been using them about twice a week on my neck. And now I really want the Beauty of Joseon eye serum.
alice, if you’re looking to try j beauty, i would try the skin aqua UV moisture milk (blue version). hybrid sunscreen with a pretty natural finish but still not drying. highly recommend! (i love all the sunscreens you love so we probably have similar enough tastes for that category)
Thank you so much! Yes I was browsing for more J-Beauty sunscreens just last night. Added the Biore kids to my cart but then abandoned it as the world of J-Beauty sunscreens currently feels overwhelming to me - which is all to say, I greatly appreciate your rec!!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole yeah it’s definitely overwhelming! a lot of j beauty sunscreens have alcohol to make it fast drying/good for oily skin, which my skin doesn’t love on a daily basis. this one doesn’t have drying alcohol which is nice for me while also not being super glowy (not my preference)
Thank you for the in depth video. I appreciate you reviewing products for every skin type. I will always come to you first for product recommendations!!!
I discovered your channel today! Am absolutely binge watching your content! Wishing I had stumbled upon you earlier! So informative and concise! Your recommendations for specific skin types are extremely logical! Love what you do! Particularly appreciate your videos focussing on one brand and all the less popular products that you ended up loving! ❤
Oh! I should open my onion toner as I just finished my BoJ essence (I am making myself spend a few weeks finishing older opened products before opening something new in the same category). My compressed sheet masks just shipped. Have you used the onion toner with those?
I have! Tbh it’s a little thick for them (compressed sheet masks do best with the very watery toners), so I prefer to mix & match when making sheet masks with it. EEEH I am so excited to hear what you think of it!! I have a sneaking suspicion you’ll really enjoy it as well haha!
Hey Alice. Just want you to know how your videos are some of my best ways to decompress after work. I have no idea about K-beauty, but the price point is in my ballpark. Where should I start. I’m 58 with fair combo skin.
It can seem overwhelming for sure! I’d say to plan out a simple routine (or just what products you want to add - say sunscreens/toners/eye creams 😉). Try just one product from those categories, and don’t worry too much if you chose the best. Because what made this video hard is that these products are all incredible, and they’re all multifunctional. That’s the reason K-Beauty is getting so much attention - it’s hard to go wrong (aside from overdoing it: remember you only have one face! 💕)
I'm sorry I haven't been commenting as much, but I got behind watching and so I've been watching and liking... I would never miss any of your videos!! 💜
Oh don’t feel obligated at all!! I will say I feel ya: it’s a busy time of the year, isn’t it!? I feel like we should all get off work the week before the holidays lol
Sioris CMS is my holy grail cleanser. I know for lots of others it doesn’t pack enough punch in how well it cleans. But that isn’t the case for me! I can use it twice as my double cleanse, or just once if I wasn’t wearing makeup and it works perfectly. It gets everything off, including my makeup, but is still gentle on my skin. My skin is very sensitive and it will build up an allergy to cleansers in specific; even if it wasn’t allergic the first few months. That’s never happened with the Sioris CMS cleanser. I also love the feel of it, and how easily it’s removed.
@@dcdawn same here. I’ve tried their serums, moisturizer, the spray mists, they were all good. And I really like the brand aesthetic. The cleanse me softly bottle looks so sleek and pretty!
The best k-beauty daytime moisturizer is the Isntree Cica Relief Cream, and yes I will die on this hill. Buttery, medium weight, light color correction due to its green tint, plus cica and peptides.
Hi Alice, just discovered your channel and find very interesting all your videos on K-skincare. You talk a lot about this Skin1004 centella asiatica ampoule and I just saw another the Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Probio-cica intensive ampoule and was wondering what are the benefits of this one, is any better than the regular ampoule from the brand ? Thank you !!
See the only question I find myself having is how many times I am going to watch this tutorial. I couldn't of kept it to a hand full. I have so many cleansers and toners. OMG sunscreens.
It was SO hard haha! These videos took me months to narrow things down, and I still found myself debating at the last minute (anua vs cosrx propolis had me stumped!!)
I’m counting the Isntree onion gel moisturizer too because you talked about it . We use 12 of these in the house. He likes the sprays. More simpler routine. But 11 products if I don’t cheat.
Holy cow, what a great video. I just discovered your chanel and I’m very happy about that. You have such a great skin, wow. Loveeeee your glow. I love Sulwasoo brand. I subscribed for sure. Kisses from Quebec 😊
off topic but has anybody had any issues with stylevana and their tracking links lately? i’ve placed several orders with them, and while they do normally take awhile, they do give the correct tracking info. on this recent order i placed, the tracking info on the website and shipping confirmation email were incorrect. i contacted stylevana, and they sent me the correct usps tracking info but nothing about omniparcels/the first carrier. i’ve contacted them multiple times requesting the omniparcel info too and nothing. it’s been almost a month since i received the shipping confirmation email.
In the last few weeks I've watched LOTS of your videos from few yrs ago up to current.... I watched you go from good skin to AMAZING skin... The glow looks like you have satin sheen skin... I have to ask are you using a highlight or certain oil when filming? Is it the lights? Or is it truly JUST your skin has this insanely beautiful glow?...
Thank you!! I admit I’m VERY happy with my skin, but I’ll also tell you: I do use facial oil which contributes a whole lot to the glow, and I have studio lights too! Those absolutely do make a difference. I’m not sure I have one single go-to, oddly. The Kolmar options are grouped in my head, and I kind of just choose from those? Ie do I want more moisture? Round Lab. Light? Skin1004. In-between? Beauty of Joseon. They’re all excellent for me!
Skin 1004 is on my product try list for 2023. I just didn't get around to it this year. I still haven't gotten to a few products I bought this year like the RNW. I will get there!!
On the topic of J Beauty please try Curel Intensive Moisture Cream and the Naturie hatomugi skin conditioner (layer multiple times). I'd also recommend picking up MUJI toner and oil cleanser if you ever come by one of their stores
I am trying some of your favorites, meanwhile this is my list Sunscreen: Skin 1004 HC Sun Serum Eye Cream: Dear Klairs Fundamental Toner: Sioris first essenser Essence: Dr C KTE Cleanser: (no loyalty) Serum: Purito Unscented Centella Mist: Manyo Bifida Moisturizer: (no loyalty) Wash Off Mask: Isntree Mugwort Sleeping Mask: CosRX Rice Mask Sheet Mask: PKY Moisturizing Mask
Thanks for sharing! I very much understand “no loyalty” - those steps are remarkably interchangeable, I feel! And now I’m super curious about manyo bifida mist - that sounds so up my alley 🤔
I tried the Benton eye cream I bought it alittle over a month ago and I do love it I even love layering it over the Dear Klairs eye butter I love to use as a eye serum. U already know I love the Dr C kombucha I told u about it forever..😂 sunscreen I'm not a good sunscreen girl but I love the Canmake even bought it for my dad. I need to branch out more I kinda want to try the water fit one. I loved the PKY eye patches I would even put the dear klairs butter under them ..lol of course but mine dried out super quick it was so sad I do love them but I'm hesitant about buying more because mine dried out so fast like idk if it's like that all the time or it was just me that got a dryer batch but they have been my favorite I tried in a super long time. I used them up super fast too but after the first week I noticed they were drying out more. Do u put ur eye patches in the fridge or not ? U already know I love the sk 11 god I wish it cost less I really like the iope too still working on the bottle I really love the cosrx proplolis toner like I can't stop with it ,I know it's an oldie . I am loving the new Wishtrend cica peptide barrier serum for serum and ampoule catagorie also love a few more. I been using it sense it release so I can say I do love it. Girl I feel bad ur going threw it I been waking up with a super soar throat lately it's like one side at a time on the neck ware grandes are omg it hurts then that side of my face around my sinis area and ears. It's horrible wondering if I should break down go to the Dr , girl I hate the Drs office I will avoid like the plague . Also the back of my neck . So I know what ur going threw I feel u. O YEA the RNW ceramide plus serum yes totally fav idk how I forgot to say it lol
Oh wow the PKY patches dried out for you? Yeah I keep mine in the fridge, I wonder if that does help - because I’m really slow with going through them this time (have been doing the serum/stickies lately lol!!) If I didn’t end up going with the Anua, I would have said the cosrx propolis. That’s a great one indeed. Much “weightier” feel to it (wait am I making up words or 😅😅) Honestly though, there are soooo many good K-Beauty options. This video was really hard to do tbh lol! Ugh I’m so sorry to hear you’re feeling rough too. I’m actually the same. I dislike going to doctors, which is hilarious because we are always working with them (especially for supplement studies where it’s important to have a doctor check for any interactions). Whenever I finally talk myself into going, I’m glad I did! But yes I do hope you feel better, and if you do need to go to a doctor, remember it’s only the dread before it that sucks - not the actual visit nor the aftermath! Hope you feel better!! 💕
Heather I got the RNW ceramide serum, it'll be here Wed. The Dr C Kombucha is next on my list. Can you describe the texture? I hate anything that's tacky or leaves a greasy residue. I have normal to dry skin. I do have hormonal breakouts. And I want to get the Mary & May moisturizer...it looks sooooo LOVELY. I see your comments on NO BS BEAUTY & Kelly Driscoll lol For me reading comments helps me decide if a product will work for me. I also got a travel size of Thank You Farmer toner, cleanser and moisturizer. I figured if I don't like it, I can return it and get something else. My obsession with Korean skincare is getting out of hand lol
@@paulayarbrough6930 LOL the obsession can totally get out of hand especially sense it better then spending 60$ on 1 item at Sephora then u get obsessed and want to try everything. I am so happy my comments help u that makes me feel good to be able to help someone. I really like the I'm from rice toner I haven't tried the cleanser yet I did try one of the moisturizers I think it was a mix of gel and cream idk how I really felt about it not enough product it was a same but I wanted to say greasy and I have dry skin so that's weird but Kelly loved it , maybe just because I got a sample I couldn't fully try it out right, I heard the cleanser mask was nice though it can be alittle drying so I wouldn't use it daily with the clay in it. Dr C kombucha is amazing omg I love it...I told Kelly, Alice and Sarah no BS Beauty channel about it and that they needed to get it they will fall in love and they all loved it so I know u will. Let me know what u think when u get ur products. 💕
@@AliceintheRabbitHole ah thank u , I hope u feel better too. Girl I dread everything about the Dr..lol Arua steeling ur stuff 🤣 good for her. She like u got enough I will take this..ha ha I did put mine in the fridge I am wondering if it made it worse cause I wanted that cold feeling and I thought it would preserve them more. Maybe I'll have to try them again I did love them and their not super expensive hopefully they won't dry up as quick and their is more liquid in the next batch.
@@heathersargent289 I'm glad I only got the travel size. I only got it because it was on sale too lol Looks like I'll be returning it. I knew I should've listened to my gut because I read a few comments about the moisturizer feeling greasy and the cleanser being drying. But the toner is what people seem to love. I'm gonna try it tonight and if I don't like it... I can easily find something else to try lol And I always read your comments 🥰
I just picked up the Iope Bio Intensive Essence at Winners (Canada's TJ Maxx) and am loving it. It's so hydrating. It's exactly what I needed for this winter.
I use a lot of J Beauty as well, only because I used to live in Japan and went there to study often, and also speak Japanese so I am more familiar with Japanese products. I got into Korean Beauty more recently, itself certainly very different to Japanese skincare and concepts for sure.
Just FYI, the original Killing Me Softly was one of my favorite songs as a kiddo--released in 1973 and written by a male songwriting team and beautifully sung by Roberta Flack. The songwriters were apparently inspired by a folk singer (who sang the first rendition of the song) who had seen Don McLean (American Pie) at the Troubador in Los Angeles. Or so the story goes, anyway. I really like Lauren Hill's version as well. You know skincare, I know music! :-)
Have you heard Lori Lieberman's version? Came out in 1972. Controversy, she may have been one of the song writers. And the song was written about Don McLean.
I shopped my heart out (my wallet out?) Black Friday for skincare and I bought almost every toner you mentioned in this video after hearing you talk about them throughout the year. I'm going to be so toned in 2023! I would love to see you get more into J beauty. I've looked into it a little and was intrigued but not had the time to follow up on much, but I enjoyed almost every product I've tried. It's definitely a different approach than Korean beauty, but I think finding the best way to mix approaches for my individual skin is one of the most fun parts of skin care. (The experimentation and learning are the other two. I almost always use different products on each side of my face because I like seeing the difference in how they apply and perform. I probably could have narrowed it down to one really great routine by now, but then what would I do for fun?)
Haha oh how I relate! I’ve come to realize that people either love the entire process of finding and figuring out skincare products…or hate it and want things to be simple. We seem to be in the former group there 😁
Hi Alice, have you tried Hada Labo Premium lotion? I was wondering how it compares to the Korean hydrating stuff you have tried. Also, I am so overwhelmed by eye creams, can you help me? I am 31 and starting to have fine lines under my eyes. They're nearly unnoticeable when I use lots of hydrating stuff and effective moisturizer. I think it's partly age and partly dryness. I have very dry skin. I want to use the eye creams you featured in the video but I don't know which one. I just want my under eyes to look nice even with makeup (makeup dries them out further).
Alice! Hi! I’m a bit under the weather myself which is why I’m so late to watch and comment but glad you’re well again! I love the onion toner and Heartleaf is such an amazing ingredient! I got the bha chestnut toner in a skincare box but I haven’t tried it out yet. Can’t try hanskin because of the possible macro algae (they haven’t properly disclosed which kind so too risky) 😬I originally liked the Missha artemisia essence but I noticed constant breakouts while using so I discontinued and gave it a go a month later and the breakouts once again erupted so a bit of a bummer with that one. YES! That isntree mugwort cream is magic! I wasn’t expecting to love it so much but wow, it really impressed.
Aw I hope you feel better too! I guess it’s that season - the season of cold and colds 🤧 Yeah I suspect the catch with artemisia is that it is a much more complex ingredient - AND there’s all the different types of artemisia!
The D’Alba is okay to me - I think Sioris’ does a little bit of a better job in giving a glow (probably because it appears to have more oils in it). They’re similar though!
Hallo, I just want to say the biggest thank you for your channel and you. My sister has COVID right now and the medicine she is on has caused a horrible reaction on her face 😭. I am going through my notes on products you have recommended for calming and soothing. If you have a video you have recorded please reference it so I can send it to her. She has Rosacea . She is very sick and contagious so can't get to dermatologist. Anyways I have been loving this end of year best. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so so much for your videos on K beauty. I've just discovered your channel as I've started wanting to incorporate some more hydrating and barrier repair-focused products into my skincare and your videos are so thorough. Thank you!😊
Have you had a chance to try the new red bean line from BOJ? The mask has been wonderful on my dry skin, and I want to try the gel moisturizer next out of sheer curiosity.
Hahaha i totally agree this sulwhasoo sleeping mask makes you addicted, if you liked it, you will always repurchase it and i think it is because of this amazing delicate herbal oriental scent. It makes you think that you apply a product which is loaded with all these ancient beauty secrets 😂 but yeah it moisturizes your skin perfectly and it never broke me out though i am very sensitive acne prone
That is SO true. I’m convinced that unique scents bury themselves into our subconscious. I went for a while without that mask, and when I finally reordered and opened it, it felt like a reunion with an old friend 🤣
Can you recommend a Brand of cotton pads to use for DIY sheet masks? We're struggling to find good products. Should be thin and big enough. Thank you. Love your videos. My partner and I started watching them religiously lately! Queer greetings from Graz, Austria!
I am currently using Kaines (came in a kit with the Kaine Kombucha toner), and they’re a nice size that fits about half my cheek. It’s perforated in the middle of 2, though I wish they ripped apart a smidge more cleanly. A different shape option would be the brand White Rabbit, who has thin long sheets. Those are especially nice for the neck and forehead area, but can fit anywhere on the face. Hope that helps! 🏳️🌈
I recently took the plunge to try K Beauty and ordered from Stylevana. It's been 4 weeks since my order and there is still no movement on the tracking. Tracking still says they are waiting to receive the product. How long does shipping typically take?
Often they will be waiting on one product and holding your package until that product restocks. I use yesstyle and they tell you if something is out of stock (it makes the shipping time 4 weeks instead of 7-14 days).
You have absolutely beautiful skin! I have 2 questions? I loved the glossy look of your skin and you had no makeup so what was the final product to get that lovely glossy look? My 2nd question, have hyperpigmentation and want to know the 1 product that you saw the most difference with getting rid of spots. I just want to try 1 product at a time to see if I can see a difference. I already use SUKOYAKA SUHADA Urea Moisturizing Toner.
Oils! I use 1-2 drops mixed into my moisturizer. It makes a big difference on my dry skin ☺️ I have two different answers to the second question (apologies). Before adapalene, it was AHA products. Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos specifically, but these days I suspect you don’t need to pay that price anymore. I’m much more sensitive to actives since adapalene, so I would say azelaic acid now. My current favorite is by Isomers, but I’ve enjoyed quite a few AzA serum options (at 10% or higher!)
Im so sad i bought skinfood royal propolis essense on your recommendation and i was expecting that into your vdo . Please tell me if it's still your most hydrating product as you mentioned in " my most hydrating product" vdo
I LOVED the Misha Time Revolution Artemisia essence. I randomly saw and picked one up at Tj Maxx for super cheap, and I regret not getting more than one lol. I have no idea why, but no other BHA toners, for me, work as well as PC’s 2% BHA exfoliant. Peach Slices’ was the worst, but Isntree’s wasn’t that great either 🤷🏻♂️. Cosrx’s snail mucin essence and all in 1 cream are holy grails for me now, after I gave the latter a 2nd chance.
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Yes! They also had The First Treatment Essence (only one), but someone had grabbed it by the time I went back and decided to get it lol. I’ve also found the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum for less than $10, Apieu’s Madecassoside cream, Exuviance’s wrinkle smoothing peptide cream, and I forget what else, but SO many good stuff. I need to go again lol.
I've got a question maybe you are knowledgeable about....I have a couple friends who raved about the Revision Skincare Nectifirm ADVANCED, for their necks. And I also read good things, when I went to indecoder...or another such site, they said it was because of the inclusion of Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12. Described as "A six amino acid peptide that is claimed to improve firmness and skin tone".I've searched for other products with this peptide, and it's VERY hard to find in products. Even in peptide creams it does not show up. Is this a particularly expensive ingredient?...Do you know of any products that contain this. Thanks
Hmm that is interesting. I do think it sounds like an intriguing peptide, but I wonder if the results are really more of the full formula vs a part? Then again, I’m a fan of peptides as well so I do get it!
I feel like I want to look back on this in a year... so... First Step Cleanser: No favorites but is a cost saver for balms. Second Step Cleanser: AmorePacific enzyme cleanser, and to some extent AmorePacific foam. First Essence: Missha First Treatment (there are better I've found but not at the price point) and Artemisia (evening must have). Toner: I'm From Rice Toner (just does something extra for overall skin health) Essence: I'm From Mugwort (Morning must have) Dr. Ceuracle Kombucha (evening), CosRx Snail (must have for evening) Vitamin C Serum: Skip Retinol: Skip Other Serums: RNW (but always prefer Liquid Gold) Eye Serum : None that stand out but lots of options. Eye Cream: None that stand out but lots of options and regularly prefer. Oil: No Cream: No favorites Sunscreen: Ti'am Mask: I'm From Honey must have) and I'm From Mugwort (must have)
Ooh thanks for sharing, that was fun to read! The Ti’am red sunscreen or a different one? I’m still surprised by how different of a formula that one offers! I’ve been going back and forth between the Amorepacific and Dermalogica cleansers this week, trying to decide which I’ll put in the powder cleanser category for my high end favs. They’re both so good imo. I find myself feeling the best one is whichever I just finished using 🤣
@@AliceintheRabbitHole The Tia'm is red while I've heard there's one similar, I hadn't tried it, and there are just days I really like the feel texturally vs. what I'd otherwise consider my daily favorites. The only comparable products I've seen personally are much more expensive western sunscreens that almost have a bit of a priming feel. The BoJ, Canmake, Skin1004 etc. sunscreens are great as well and possibly better, but there isn't as much of a distinction and my favorite depends on the finish I feel like that day. With respect to AmorePacific vs. Demalogica my breakdown is threefold. The first and honestly most meaningful issue is scent which can linger a bit for AmorePacific. I like the smell, but if you don't go Dermalogica. The second is the finer level of grain and exfoliating experience with respect to AmorePacific. Equating it to buffing out a piece of stone or I suppose even a nail, I feel as though AmorePacific has a slightly finer effect making it less likely to cause irritation but also less likely to have an immediate massive impact. Finally, I think Dermalogica is more frequently subject to sales and slightly less expensive to begin with. Bottom line, I could argue Dermalogica has a better value, but AmorePacific is higher quality and regardless user experience based on scent is most likely to be the determining factor for someone's favorite.
I did grab the melano cc (slowly but surely, I am determined to try more J-Beauty!) Taking notes of the rest of your recs 😃
And I agree, it’s been overshadowed for sure.
One of my favorite face washes ever ❤
i love hada labo hydrating face foam i got depressed when mine ran out, i now have two bottles in stock :) but i also got some cool new cleansers to try, that weird goat milk one and the barbara sturm one so ... ah, but its so good
Hey friends! I’m so sorry if you can hear the congestion in my voice. Had the “cold or allergies??” situation this weekend, but was determined to film this video regardless. Am fine now though, as these things go LOL
Hope you all have a wonderful week and feel free to share your favs here as well!
Thank you. 🥰
I hope you feel better quickly!
I didn't hear anything, glad your feeling better, no apologies needed!
But I also was attracted to the purple bottle:)
Awww YESSS so happy to hear you love it too! That one is severely underrated!
And yes the purple bottle is aesthetically pleasing, isn’t it? Love love love that toner!
I wonder how that would work on the scalp for hair fall 🤔 onions stop hair fall and grow hair.
Who made the onion toner? I saw but don’t remember and wasn’t where I could jot down.
@@dcdawn isntree
I'm glad you always show the ingredients. My skin reacts badly to Theobroma cacao, which can happen.
A LOt of these were on my radar and you’ve really convinced to pick up several (at some point because I already have sooo much 😂). Thanks for all you do ❤
Happy to help! 🥰
I love how much joy you bring to skin care. Have a great week Alice ❌️ ⭕️
You too! 🥰
Your face is literally glowing! Love
Me side-eyeing the four backup tubes of BOJ eye cream in my storage 🙃
It’s my full-face retinoid because adapalene was too much. I get AMAZING results and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The texture sinks in like a dream while also supplying some moisture. The ingredient list blew my mind (niacinamide, peptides, etc). 1000/10
Ohh I LOVE that eye cream/gel. I’ve been using it for 5 months straight it’s such a steal of a deal!
Good call! It’s a perfect substitute, and one less conversion than retinol too. Absolutely a phenomenal serum, for more than just the eye area 😍
That’s my fave eye cream too!
My skin loves the Isntree chestnut BHA toner too! And finally got my hands on the Skin1004 spf - thanks for the recommendation; can’t wait to try it 😁
I really can’t believe how much isntree has come through for me. What a wonderful toner. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the sunscreen! 😃
Yesstyle actually ships pretty fast 💨.
@@Randompotatoes-qs7bm That’s not been my experience. I’m in Illinois & it took it over a month to get to me.
@@NatalieG427weird, i'm in ohio and i've always gotten my orders in a couple weeks
i think some big cities like la and nyc do have stores that sell k-beauty. but they can't sell korean sunscreens bc of our laws
The song, “ Killing Me Softly”, is an oldy but goody by Roberta Flack. ❤
The Fugees featuring Lauren Hill. It was a remake from the seventies. Roberta Flack and Donnie Hathaway.
I am loving my K beauty routine. I'm always up for refining and improving my skincare. I really enjoy your favs and would love to see a morning and evening routine with those favs.
Could you please do a video on best moisturisers you use at the moment? Thank you
I just received my isntree hyaluronic acid toner based on your recommendation. Now I want the onion toner for brightening purposes!! Really appreciate your channel. Was so excited to see this in my recommended videos.
Your videos always put a smile on my face! I love these recommended K skincare 🥰🤩
😃😃🥰
Love the Dynasty cream but it is definitely light for my dry skin. Can only use it in the summer, not dry winter. But in the summer, loved it.
Hi there. I was excited to find your channel thanks to Penn Smith's recommendation.
Hello!! That was sooo incredibly sweet of her to make that video 😍💕
Yes, would love to see a JBeauty skincare review. I also LOVE Suncut & Skin Aqua. Thin, sheer & smooth on the skin. And spf50++++. Terrific products.
Killing me Softly was first recorded by Lori Lieberman in 1972. Roberta Flack went to #1 in 1973 and the Fugees version came out in 1997. Roberta Flack and the Fugees have performed the song together.
Love that song!!💖
Ooohhh I’ve used Benton’s eye cream since this summer it’s so stinking good!
It’s a really, really good eye cream! It’s funny as I didn’t end up loving a lot of the more popular Benton products? But that’s a hit for me!
So many good reccomentadions. Thank you! Honestly Dr Ceuracle is my favourite K beauty brand. I also love their cica line.
"Recommendations" not my first language 😅🙃😅
^i admire that you learned a second language!
I’m going to be trying a few more Dr. Ceuracle products in the future - super excited!!
We have a ritual of sorts when watching your videos where, when you talk about a product and then show the ingredients I turn and look at her and she goes “yup, you want that now don’t you?” And me going, “yes, yes I do.”
“Babe, Alice loves this one!” is a common statement in this household. 😂
🤣🤣🥰🥰
Alice just take the money out of my pocket book! I will take your suggestions when I get more money. Medicube I will try!
Haha in all fairness I’ll add: don’t buy it all at once! I’ve discovered a limit…we all only have one face (tragic, tragic I tell ya! 🤣)
Sure can! Here ya go: th-cam.com/play/PLJ4CZy5eUVxrSnPb4cdzyCxFczVhlMV-u.html
I basically do a “skin cycling” routine, wherein my AM routine is quick, easy, and based around vitamin c. Then I have a few different PM routines that I rotate through as needed 😃
It's really cute everytime you talk about your "sweetie" 💞
I haven’t been able to tolerate retinoid eye creams after starting adapalene. I have been using them about twice a week on my neck. And now I really want the Beauty of Joseon eye serum.
that’s why i got the boj eye serum too, haven’t busted it open yet tho
alice, if you’re looking to try j beauty, i would try the skin aqua UV moisture milk (blue version). hybrid sunscreen with a pretty natural finish but still not drying. highly recommend!
The Nivea Super Water Gel is another good J-beauty sunscreen worth trying. I have it in the larger pump bottle version.
I think I am putting Skin1004 on my 2023 list. ♡♡♡ You have convinced me.
Fine, Alice. I’ll buy the Isntree Mugwort Cream. Sheesh. 😂❤
First time watching your channel! You are delightful and so informative. I’ll definitely keep watching. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words! ☺️
I prefer the Isntree BHA over the PC any day. Great pics Alice
Yessss it’s so good!
Absolutely gorgeous! would love to try it out💕😎
That snail is freaking amazing. I bought it because of you. I owe ya!❌️⭕️
Happy to hear you love it!! 🐌😁😁
What a fun video! Can't wait to try the centella ampoule and BOJ eye serum! Thanks for doing this!
Yuuup, same feels! It’s a go to for when my skin is stressed. Wonderful cleanser!
I love it as well. I love most Sioris products.
😱😱 I haven’t tried that one! Oh no it sounds…absolutely amazing LOL.
Great video and a easy way to see the best of the best!!! 🏆
I know its probably unintentional but thank you so much for using products with out cetearyl alcohol most of the time. I'm severely allergic.
Can't wait for the numbuzin videoooo🎉
Hi Alice, Good selection of products. Enjoyed the video. Glad you are feeling better 😘
Get into J beauty. The Omi UV Protect Gel is amazing! No fragrance, alcohols or parabens.
Thank you for the rec! 🥰
Two questions I hope you can answer?? At what stage in a skincare routine do you use eyepatches? What does the EX after a Korean products name mean?
Love your picks! I actually ordered many of these on BF sale and I cant wait to try everything 😍
Holy cow, what a great video. I just discovered your chanel and I’m very happy about that. You have such a great skin, wow. Loveeeee your glow. I love Sulwasoo brand. I subscribed for sure. Kisses from Quebec 😊
I enjoyed this.. I’m ordering some products. Thanks
off topic but has anybody had any issues with stylevana and their tracking links lately? i’ve placed several orders with them, and while they do normally take awhile, they do give the correct tracking info. on this recent order i placed, the tracking info on the website and shipping confirmation email were incorrect. i contacted stylevana, and they sent me the correct usps tracking info but nothing about omniparcels/the first carrier. i’ve contacted them multiple times requesting the omniparcel info too and nothing. it’s been almost a month since i received the shipping confirmation email.
I’ve heard it’s helpful to DM them on their instagram account!
1 more question ... What is your reg use sunscreen? Like your go to
They’re all excellent for me!
would you recommend for the BoJ retinal eye cream for a full face use?
Absolutely! It can be used as an eye serum or a face serum ☺️
Alice, can I use the BOJ retinal eye serum during the day (I do wear sunscreen of course)? I was worried that I could only use it at nighttime.
I’d say to use it at night as there isn’t really a reason to double up on it twice daily?
Skin 1004 is on my product try list for 2023. I just didn't get around to it this year. I still haven't gotten to a few products I bought this year like the RNW. I will get there!!
On the topic of J Beauty please try Curel Intensive Moisture Cream and the Naturie hatomugi skin conditioner (layer multiple times). I'd also recommend picking up MUJI toner and oil cleanser if you ever come by one of their stores
Thank you for the recs!
Love all of your recommendations, Alice!
Excellent lineup ❤❤❤
I am trying some of your favorites, meanwhile this is my list
Sunscreen: Skin 1004 HC Sun Serum
Eye Cream: Dear Klairs Fundamental
Toner: Sioris first essenser
Essence: Dr C KTE
Cleanser: (no loyalty)
Serum: Purito Unscented Centella
Mist: Manyo Bifida
Moisturizer: (no loyalty)
Wash Off Mask: Isntree Mugwort
Sleeping Mask: CosRX Rice Mask
Sheet Mask: PKY Moisturizing Mask
U already know I love the sk 11 god I wish it cost less I really like the iope too still working on the bottle
I really love the cosrx proplolis toner like I can't stop with it ,I know it's an oldie .
Yeah I keep mine in the fridge, I wonder if that does help - because I’m really slow with going through them this time (have been doing the serum/stickies lately lol!!)
If I didn’t end up going with the Anua, I would have said the cosrx propolis.
I did put mine in the fridge I am wondering if it made it worse cause I wanted that cold feeling and I thought it would preserve them more. Maybe I'll have to try them again I did love them and their not super expensive hopefully they won't dry up as quick and their is more liquid in the next batch.
@@heathersargent289 I'm glad I only got the travel size. I only got it because it was on sale too lol Looks like I'll be returning it. Hey super video 🥰. Do you think thé intense cream Mary and may Can be good with tretinoine on combo skin?
Stylevana customers.. if you bought during BF has your order shipped? Mine has not yet and want to know the timeframe.
Hi @AliceintheRabbitHole can u pls share what ur wearing that gives your skin that shine?? Thank you!
I mix oil into my moisturizer ☺️
@Emily Wood Isn't it? Roberta Flack is an American treasure.
Have you heard Lori Lieberman's version? Came out in 1972. Controversy, she may have been one of the song writers. And the song was written about Don McLean.
Hey from Penn! Loved this video.
Thank you! 🥰
I love this video. I believe your reviews.
We seem to be in the former group there 😁
I have fun using the buvley bubble toner. I really love that brand
I just want my under eyes to look nice even with makeup (makeup dries them out further).
how did i just discover you ?? omg love ur videos!
Alice!
I guess it’s that season - the season of cold and colds 🤧
Yeah I suspect the catch with artemisia is that it is a much more complex ingredient - AND there’s all the different types of artemisia!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole thanks 😊 yes that’s true! My skin just doesn’t like the annua
Great video as always, love this k-beauty 2022 and beyond roundup! How would you compare the Sioris mist with for example the D'Alba mist?
The D’Alba is okay to me - I think Sioris’ does a little bit of a better job in giving a glow (probably because it appears to have more oils in it). They’re similar though!
Loved this Alice. I need to rob a bank lol. Roberta Flack sang the original. Listen to it. Her voice is angelic. Happy holidays dear friend
Goodness her voice is so beautiful! I had forgotten about that version, but it is a beautiful song indeed!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I know. Like velvet. I grew up in the 60 and 70s so old mare here has a great Playlist of the good ole stuff
Oh no I do hope she recovers quickly!! I don’t have roseacea myself, so it might be helpful to look for those who do?
Sending all the good vibes 💕💕
Thank you ❤️
Thank you so so much for your videos on K beauty.
It can take 1.5 to 2 months.
It makes a big difference on my dry skin ☺️
I have two different answers to the second question (apologies).
The Pestlo is my favorite mineral spf too!
😱😱 omg you found it at TJ Maxx!? I would have done the same before I knew better - now I’d grab them all lol (not really, but i would be tempted 🤣)
I just started trying the inkey list Fulvic acid cleanser. I like it. I also have abib acne cleanser.
Oooh sorry for all the individual "real time" comments. But wonderful video--so many of my faves but also a lot of things to try next year! ♡♡♡
Don’t be sorry, you know I love reading your comments! 😃 This video was quite fun (albeit stressful at points to narrow it down haha!!)
Do u like abib heartleaf toner or anua heartleaf toner? Why u choose that? Thx
Toner: I'm From Rice Toner (just does something extra for overall skin health)
Essence: I'm From Mugwort (Morning must have) Dr. Ceuracle Kombucha (evening), CosRx Snail (must have for evening)
Vitamin C Serum: Skip
Retinol: Skip
Other Serums: RNW (but always prefer Liquid Gold)
Eye Serum : None that stand out but lots of options.
Eye Cream: None that stand out but lots of options and regularly prefer.
Oil: No
Cream: No favorites
Sunscreen: Ti'am
Mask: I'm From Honey must have) and I'm From Mugwort (must have)
Ooh thanks for sharing, that was fun to read!
Calming tonerrrr 😁 vocal frying constantly
