A little tight going in, but about to fire it up…. Took a bit longer to load and the start menu at the bottom of my windows 11 didn’t pop right up but seems to be working perfectly. The memory upgrade shows correctly in the DX diagnostic tool as well, so 👍
Thank you very much for a great video had trouble with the eight screws backing in them out. Of course trying to get a prybar to open up the fasteners didn’t work so I went the letter opener route. Worked like a charm to put the 32 GB in. I only went with the 32 stick because it was on sale $84 off on IBM’s website
Tech support here. I had problem working with few Edge tabs, excel, outlook and word. Leaving a teams meeting was costing from 30sec to 2 minutes with RAM at over 97%. I just upgraded it from 8 to 40 Gb. Now it should be ok.
I noticed that you didn't unplug the battery connector before the installation of new ram. Had there any issue regarding that after the installation of new ram? I upgraded ssd, ram of my old lenovo gseries laptop by myself but I don't dare to touch my thinkpad as it has inbult battery & I fears if I damage it by disconnect the battery connector.
Does the ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 serial PF3HYD96 product number 20TES28U00 intel i5-1135G7 nvidia mx450 have a single ram or two ram slots? The model you have is ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 series.
Great vid! FYI, my Lenovo E15 had a small metal box around memory. Just remove 1 screw and it pops out with small screwdriver. I also put in 32GB for a total of 40. What am I going to do with the RAM? Hmm, WIN11 takes up 7.9GB (Compressed) just to turn on. Just hoping for less page file dumps to the SSD when I open 20 browser tabs, 10 Acrobat files, Word, Outlook, Paperport, and 20 Visio pages. I also use 3 monitors, and watch TH-cam videos. The Intel Iris uses the RAM for graphics.
im sorry im new to computers,so is it technically 8 gb plus the 32 gb you installed equaling 40gb ram or is it 32 gb because you removed the existing 8gb ram? sorry if it sounds confusing
What you do first is optimize Windows for SSD usage and then, with 32GB (or even if only 16GB), disable the OS drive swap file. It will save you some TBW and therefore prolongue your SSD lifetime.
Thanks 4 the video I honestly feel cheated by lenovo I bought this laptop thinking it's like an AK that I can tear down and reassemble just like that... But just now I took it apart as carefully as I can with a professional wedge tool and every time I hear a clip snap it was like me heart skipping a beat Still I persevered and got all goddamn clips and put my ram in Found three or four damaged clips but the cover still snaps back thank god Even so I doubt I will ever upgrade my ssd in the future because that was hell to go through again...
Thanks a lot! Just looking for upgrade my memory and your video, just answer my question. Keep doing the great job.
Glad I could help!

Working fine. Thanks for watching!
what's the clock speed of this ram as I'm planning to upgrade mine?

Dunno for sure but its probably similar to this one as it's the same model and gen? Pop it open amd find out!
Will it work as like two-chanel memory?

The 2nd one. 32 gb total!
@ thank you
Could you please tell me the exact model of the laptop?
ThinkPad e15. Thanks for watching!
Can you please give a link to the part you installed
Picked it up at a local shop!
Can it be overclocked, or does it stay to 2666 ?
This is a business laptop, there are no OC options in the bios typical on these type of laptops. Thanks for watching and commenting!
bro why not 40gb ram ?
Why not 69gb?
Is this laptop has single ram slot?
Yup

Good to know. Thanks for watching!
Is this a Gen 3 and is the cpu Ryzen or Intel?
This one has a i5.

Yeah. Some laptops are easier to service then others. Thanks for the comment!
what gen is this?
The laptop used in this video was from 2021. Not sure of the exact gen.
Is this thinkpad 20rd?
Have you tried 64 gig ? Just tried 32gig and its working . Pls try 64gig if it works
Think the max is 32. However, LMK if you try it out 64gb!
so, after adding the 32 memory, the total memory will show as 40 (8+32)?
It will only show what's installed. In this case 32gb as we removed the 8gb stick to install the 32gb stick.
