Haha it definitely was but we found ways to stay warm. I'm sure kaitlyn will tell you all about it! Thanks again for making those awesome decals for us!
Haha yeah it was fine as long as we where in the sleeping bags. But getting out is where it got cold. But definitely a fun experience! But a tree house and fire sounds a bit nicer haha!
Key to wheeling in deeper snow, especially that powdery stuff....air down to about 15 PSI. That creates a bigger traction footprint and will be less likely to dig in.
Oh yeah. I try to save that for something to help me get unstuck haha. I did buy a smitty built air compressor, I suppose I should get out and give myself a reason to use it.
It's 27 degrees during the day... and you're gonna be camping. Love that adventurous spirit! Fun impromptu snowball fight! Dinner looks delish. You guys survived the frosty night. Maybe you needed three sleeping bags? New friends here!
Haha thanks for watching. And yeah it was actually a fun day. The night not so much haha. Well we were plenty warm under the sleeping bag, it's outside the sleeping bag is were we had a problem haha. But we survived and happy for the experience!
Haha it was a fun time! It's more of a 3 season deal, spring, summer and fall. It's a bit cold in the winter depending where you're at. But manageable if needed.
Snow wheeling looks fun! All the trails looks pretty good! You are both troopers for braving that cold and frost. ❄️ We have yet to test our RTT in those conditions. 🥶 Kaitlyn doing the happy dance 💃🏻 at b-fast! Happy New Year to you both!!!
Happy new years to you guys too. And yeah she does the happy dance any times there's food involved lol. But it's definitely a experience, worth giving it a try.
Very nice upload here, just beautiful winter footage and great vibes there , thanks for sharing of it, Like 36. I wish you to have a wonderful weekend. See you soon again.
Met ya at the laundry mat in Gunnison. I myself am looking at going smaller. Never got the NL. Wanting a fourwheel camper for my truck, but downsizing to a Four Runner looks appealing to me. Y'all be safe and enjoy the Adventure!
Hi Carolyn! This is David, you did meet my wife, but I remember her telling me about you. Yeah the 4runner is a blast, we love that we can just shoot down any trail we see and not think twice about it. We did give up our creature comforts. But what we gave up in that, we gained in adventure. Its all just a different mindset. But if we could afforded it. We probably would've went with a mid size truck like a tacoma and a 4 wheel camper over this. Just to be able to stay out of the elements in bad weather while we cook. And still be able to adventure back pretty far. Maybe not as much as the 4runner but pretty close. Its definitely a good compromise. Just my two cents. And something to think about. And if we ever do switch from the 4runner that's probably what we'd switch too. But not anytime soon haha. With the 4runner we can get a tear drop trailer to pull behind us which is also a good option and may end up with if we get tired of tent life haha. Come summer roof top tent life is going to be a blast though.
SpaceX SN9 is getting ready to launch. This is a once in a lifetime moment and we are in the perfect spot to see it! I hope you guys get a chance to see it
@@speedingn61 that's awesome and would be cool to see in person! We won't be able to see it from where we are. Not sure where it's launching but I know it ain't arizona haha. Maybe on video will see it.
@@speedingn61 ahh ok, yeah it's looking like with my wife's grandparents issues, were going to have to blow through texas to get to our mississippi/louisiana place on time.
We have a little mr buddy heater for emergencys and would fit and work. But you need to be awake mostly for it. The room is a bit small to go to sleep and hope to not knock it over. But we were toasty warm in the sleeping bags, just getting out of the sleeping bag was the hard part haha.
Yeah we miss it sometimes too, but this route is going to be more convenient for us. And not as comfortable of course, but what we lost in luxury we'll gain in adventure! Already doing so much more that the truck camper couldn't do, but don't rule it out with us. We very well may go back to a truck camper of sorts someday.
Looks like so much fun! Amazing scenery out there!
Yeah alot of people don't realize Arizona has alot of great scenery. One of the best kept secrets. Other then the cold it was great though haha.
Frozen lake, snow ball fight, awesome dinner, survived the frozen night...I call that a fun and successful trip ! Cheers for the new year !
That it was, thanks for watching. Happy new years to you too!
Get that cold camping going! 🌨❄ I was freezing just watching you guys! Looks like a blast!

Looks like a fun trip. Snowball fights and frozen lakes. My kind of cooking. We are thinking about a rooftop tent.

Another great video. I'm guessing there in no room for a small heater, that is you can vent the tent.
