The only thing that causes me concern in the possibility of CO rising and getting into you tent. It doesn't smell and can kill you. It happened to us in our home and we were lucky to survive. Good luck.
Awesome set up. I have that jackery and been thinking about getting a diesel heater as well. And i just moved to PA last year from Maryland and just got my rooftop and looking for cool spots that that to try out. Where about is that located or spots like that? I'd appreciate it.
Yeah, that cheap Chinese heater will keep your ass warm af all night with little to no problems. This is what I run exclusively because it works and parts are easy to find should you need them. I wouldn't run any other setup. Put that mf in a cheap HF box and life is golden in the winter. Take care of it and don't trash it and it will fucking last. Most issues are absolutely user error; others are out of the box and it does happen from time to time. Never an issue with mine. It just fucking works.
Thanks for sharing this cool experience with us. How was that clicking noise overnight? Wasn't that irritating? Also how about the smell of burnt diesel which comes off the exhaust?
The clicking if you have the heater set between 1-3 is not noticeable up in the tent over the sound of the fan pushing the heat. The only time it really smells like anything is during start up and shut down. While it runs it seems to burn really clean and not smell
I wish there was an easier way to waterproof these from the elements. Im over here trying to figure out a pvc housing for it...and i see you just tossed a lid on it. Shoot, im gonna just try that first lol i have a tire step setup for my D H. So not much mobility.
If you haven't already done it, why not wrap the exhaust in heat shield, cut a hole in a plastic storage bin, put the heater in the bin and feed the exhaust through to the outside of the bin? Some heat resistant silicone around the exhaust and some liquid hardening gasket would work for the lid. Or find a SUPER cheap locking container with a gasket seal instead of a storage bin.
My heater keeps overheating and it seems to be because of the length of the hot air supply duct. Have you had any issues with this? Yours appears plenty long.
i would just put a crazy carpet drapped over the box outside and it should keep enough of the weather away from it, if possible get controller extension cable and put it inside your tent.
These heaters are great. Most of the negatives are from those with no patience learning or no sense to turn a screw driver and solve minor issues. I have two of these for emergency backup heat for our house in case the heat pump goes out. Also versatile for outings and such as you can see here. I just run mine with a 15 amp power supply straight from the wall of the house. Two cheap, small batteries as backup only if power fails and then I switch to generator to power them. They work great.
Finally! Someone who puts out a great video on the Jackery battery usage while running a diesel heater, awesome job!

They make CO detectors you know right?
Super cool rig man. Great job on the video also.
Thanks I appreciate it!!
OK, now I must admit I am a bit jealous. All that is missing is a couple of good fishing poles.
I know! I need to start fishing. Would love to do a catch and cook one of these days.
What is the bed your dog is using? Looking for something exactly like that for my little buddy
in america when does a crik turn into a riv?
I saw in another video where the Jackery used to shut down without ventilation. Waterproof information should be on the label.
Looks fun I want to get a tent for my Tacoma
Mine is on sale currently on Amazon
Maybe this is a dumb question. this requires diesel fuel and the jackery to run?
Yes it runs of diesel and require some form of 12-volt power to run
Looks like a fun trip.
Was a blast! Hopefully I can get back out again soon

Congrats on moving, that spot is in the Allegheny national forest
Thank you I appreciate that.

I love mine , just had it for a week so far, the light clicking sound isn't even noticeable and the fan is quiet, the air is toasty and warm , ....
That’s the jackery 290? Was thinking about buying this exact set up for my Jeep.
Yes sir! The one from harbor freight
@@ModernDayViking literally just bought it! Appreciate you ! Sick yota build to 🤝

@Befread fantastic idea!!
Is that the 5 or 8KW heater? Looking at doing a similar setup and figuring out which heater to get!
This is the 5KW setup

No, I have never experienced any overheating errors with mine

I don't think they have any waterproof rating. Smart to keep it dry.
The link is not accurate anymore for the diesel heater
Did you ever figure out if it's ok to leave out in the elements?
i opend them up. no they are def. not ok in the elements 😅
Great video as always ❤
Thank you 🤗
Because the DC only has 10 amps and a Diesel heater needs about 15 to heat the glow plug. Idk how the hackery is working even it only has 10 amps too
The heater pulls 9.2amp max while starting.
What plug did you buy for the heater to plug into the jackery? My jackery 290 will not power up my 5kw heater
amzn.to/3YLFjJo this is the plug I wired in
Why didn't you just back your truck up into the water and stand on roof rack to get drone? Lol
Haha way to steep and a fire was blocking it
Where's the part where you take the jeans off?
Only I get to enjoy that view 😌😂
@@Ash13ley100 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮didn't need that......... Didn't need that. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Put chili over scrambled eggs. Trust me.
That sounds pretty fantastic haha
Slip on the creek bank.... AWESOME!!!!! inches away from using the diesel heater to dry your underwear.
Lololol
These things are sure all over Amazon with terrible reviews and a half decent price 😂 looks like you got lucky man
Yeah man, I just used it for two days straight with no issues. A year since this video and it starts right up!
