@@kevinthomas2906 That doesn't mean his play and attitude weren't terrible, which would explain why after being drafted #12 overall and making only 15 starts, he was out of the league after two seasons by the age of 23.
Lol. How about Boller??!! I played high school Football with him. I was one of the QBs a year behind him at Hart High in Newhall, CA in the late 1990s. Say what you want about his NFL career, but there was no denying that he had an absolute CANNON. Even in high school he could throw the 🏈 75 yards. I saw it regularly.
they d say anything to kiss a white Qb ass especially if he gotta huge red wife forehead but can't even say that Lamar n his college accolades/ numbers is nfl ready 20 years later btw
@@ReezyR because the nfl wasn’t what it used to be. What are we supposed to kiss the ground black nfl players walk on? 😂😂 stfu crying about that shit if he was better he’d probably be noticed for it. It’s just not that big of a deal to break his record nowadays.
In 1990, the first ever QB challenge took place. The winner was Ken O'Brien. In the 1991 and 1992 edition of the challenge, Dan Marino won. In 1993, Jeff Hostetler won the QB challenge. In 1994 and 1995, Randall Cunningham won the QB challenge. In 1996, Neil O'Donnell won. In 1997, Vinny Testaverde won. In 1998, Jim Harbaugh won. In 1999 and 2000, Jake Plummer won. In 2001, Trent Dilfer won. In 2002, Jeff Garcia won. In 2003, Brad Johnson won. In 2004, Matt Hasselbeck won. In 2005, Jake Delhomme won. In 2006, Chris Simms won and in 2007, the very last one, Josh McCown won. I would like to see this brought back. It would be interesting to see how modern QBs would do in this challenge.
You know what’s funny is the guys that won this challenge were either the best qb in the league that year or top 5-10 at least I’m supprised Warner never won it or did it. They should bring this back.
Greg Gumbel and Phil Simms, the lead announce team for the NFL on CBS, were working this fun event. Today, if the Quarterback Challenge came back, Ian Eagle and Charles Davis or Trent Green would call the action. Sadly, you won’t see Jim Nantz and Tony Romo. They don’t even do preseason games.
This needs to return. It’s also pretty great to see a group of elite QBs where only two of them have rings and one of them is Brad Johnson, who looks like he’s having a blast.
1999 to 2000 strikes me as a pretty noteworthy point where the NFL lacked a lot of high quality quarterbacks in the league. Especially 2000. Marino, Elway, and Young all retired. Favre was there, but had a dip in play, Gannon was having a late career surge, Peyton/Culpepper/McNabb were getting started, and Warner was probably the best. Other than that it wasn't that great. McNair wouldn't take off as a true air maestro until 2001. Brunell was meh. I guess Jeff Garcia had his best year. Other veterans like Elvis Grbac had maybe a career year, and that was it. In this video Jim Harbaugh, Tony Banks, Chris Chandler, and Cade McNown somehow got an invite.
Thanks for the upload... Those were the great times. The pretenders and the contenders showed off. No hogwash about arm strength in the press but a true eye test. And here comes the surprise: McNown throwing 72 yards, twice (and another 69 yarder). Wow! I only remembered his wobbling 10 yard throws in Chicago... Thus there must be something in the air over there making Chicago QBs look and play real bad consistently. Maybe it carried over from the 88 Fog Bowl? Either way: It makes legendary Jim McMahon all the more impressive (the last true QB that Chicago witnessed). The only guy next to Sid Luckman to have some kind of success over there. "Only" problem he played with half of a body and mostly did not get further than the first half of a season. That is exactly two QBs in 80+ years. Needless to say Fields will fail (he is already in the middle of the failure process). Even Philadelphia folk hero Foles couldn't prevail in northern QB hell.
Didn't realize McNown could sling it 72 yards in the deep ball challenge. He was a bust for Chicago, I always thought the bears put him in too early. He wasn't ready mentally yet to start and after two seasons they cut him loose.
Not a lot of people watched them, compared to the games. Networks pulled the plug, in favor of shows that gained casual attention. Fans watched but casual fans passed on challenges and pro bowls.
They should 100% bring this back
Agreed
I wonder why they stopped the quarterback challenge
Yeah. This here makes you appreciate the QB position more.
Completely true
Let's start a petition
Back when Greg Gumbel was the lead announcer for the NFL on CBS. Good times!
It sure was
Kevin Harlan should be, he is by far the best announcer in CBS
Peyton Manning is a true Legend
Good old qb challenges, god I miss this.
The NFL needs to bring this back!!!
They need to bring back the lineman challenges if you remember those with Warren Sapp and Larry Allen and nate newton going against each other
Aww, my childhood. Back when you had a choice between Madden, 2k, Blitz, NFL Gameday, Fever and QB Club.
before 2k gameday gave madden problems
Good old days!!
You are not kidding!!
2K ALL DAY!!!
Miss those days dont forget NFL Xtreme
Cade McNown, one of Chicago's 300 Franchise QB's.
But not the best.
@@rainbowstar9552 But not the worst...
He wasnt no Jamarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf either.

Imagine this nowadays it would be Lit they need to bring this back .... the last challenge was back in 2008 that's 13 years....damn time flies
Lol Tony Banks. As a Ravens fan that brought back memories. Bring back the QB challenge.
Imagine Lamar in this competition

I remember the ravens had that touchdown drought with him in 2000 before dilfer became the full time starter that super bowl season people forget alot

Hilarious

Kevin Harlan > whole CBS

I miss watching these. Loved seeing the old Class of 83 competing, too.
I loved this as a kid. I remember playing the video game.
U know its a long time ago when Gumbel out here doing pro bowl
This isn’t the pro bowl
I love qb challenges we need it back, I’m not talking the “precision passion” or whatever they have but we need this

Jake the Snake. One of the more underrated quarterbacks of his time.
I love these! Bring them back!
Can't wait for the 1987 Cardinals Buccaneers game highlights to come out (thanks) 😁
Hoping to get it out next week or week after!
@@NFLVault Yay! Thanks again for doing my idea!

True.
The year 2000 was the year of the RB.
I think 23 players finished with 1000 rushing yards
It was the bridging of two eras
Great times for the qbs
We need this back!
They need to bring these back!!
LOVE THE QB CHALLENGE VIDS!!!!! WE NEED MORE
Those old school uniforms especially Atlanta are so badass
Back when life had more substance 🙂
Now this is an interesting find, love what you put on the channel!
Miss these so much
76 Yards Mcnabb had a Cannon for an Arm!💪🏾
Truly underrated arm
NFL throwback is killing it
McNabb with the 76 yd bomb!
He took Syracuse to the orange bowl so he was a beast
Tony Banks and Cade McNown. Wow.
Michigan St and ucla legends lmao
The opening clip of the beach with the cliff is 100% the second or third field from NFL street
That was a fun challenge
Peyton is so affable and personable. My biggest crush for the longest.
This was the peak of Cade McNown’s NFL career...
Wrong place at the wrong time...
Boy I miss Madden 2000
Amen
Could you imagine this comp with todays qbs. Allen, mahomes, Rodgers, brady, wilson, stafford, jackson, Mayfield, Goff
The sad thing is that Brady participated in this competition like a year or two later. He's been playing so long. Man I want him to retire 😭
Goff would turn it over
They should bring this challenge back for sure
this one was my favorite!

Hahaha this was way back in the day.. when peyton manning wasnt as slow as me when he would run lol
Cade Mcnown was my first jersey. It quickly became embarrassing to wear.
Although there careers were happening at the same time, seeing McNabb and Peyton talk was jarring to me lol
Please nfl throwback load the old lineman competitions! With Warren Sapp and Larry Allen and John randle the golden Years!
The battle of the MC'S
They look so fun honestly
Oh yeah time for some popcorn 🍿 loving it!
Mcnabb didn’t know about ties
Lol

Who’s ready for Week 1
3 months! 🏈
Nfl throwback thanks! But i recommend the lineman challenges with warren sapp larry allen and randle
16:16 " good balls"🤣🤣
First 4 QBs are the elite of the elite: Tony Banks, Chris Chandler, John Harbaugh and Brad Johnson 🔥🔥🔥
Man I miss the old days
Chris chandler throws a beautiful football
Jesus Christ McNabb has a bomb
Jim Harbaugh sounded like a coach back then lol

My guy out of this group has to be MCNABB! He was special. I wish he got that Super Bowl against the Patriots.
This is 100x better than the 2023 pro bowl crap.
ah yes, the legendary very mobile peyton manning
He actually ran the same 40 time as pat mahomes
Good entertainment at midnight.
Upload the 2013 AFC Championship Game between the Patriots and Broncos.
Wtf, Jim Harbaugh was a QB? In the year 2000? Wow. I never knew he even played football
Yup he was a first round pick drafted by the Bears back in 87. He played in an AFC Championship against the Steelers in 95.
Look it up!
Randall Cunningham was a Dallas cowboys quarterback that year also lol look it up
Because ur young
this is it right here 💯💯
The year Jake the Snake threw 9 touchdowns and 27 interceptions won a quarterback challenge.
McNabb won the longest throw!
Peyton Manning is elusively quick!
To think that McNabb scored the lowest in the mobility test is just crazy
Future Bucs legend and SB champ Brad Johnson!
They can’t hit that big ass target ten yards away? Lol
In the first event, Lamar Jackson would have a time of like 5 flat....EASY FELLAS, I'M JOKING, HE COULD LIKELY GET IN THE 7's though
Tony “TB12” Banks
Josh Allen would do good in this
JAKE THE 🐍
I was told by my media that Peyton had a noodle weak arm
37:00 lmao
Why did they stop these?

For a guy who’s 240 pounds, Donovan McNabb was fast!
He wasn’t 240 here. More like 220 at this point
Cade mcnown not a bust confirmed
How did mcnown get here 🤣
Of course McNabb'l throws worm balls hahaha
Somebody send this to Lamar

Mahomes
Wilson
Jackson
Ryan
Allen
Stafford
Mayfield
Prescott
Murray
Rodgers
Tannehill
Fitzpatrick who wins the whole thing
Allen, Mahomes or Dak
Not sure if Cade McNown or Aj Styles

Cade McNown... who? I legit don't know who that guy is.
