He also got them into FG range twice at the end even after all those picks. He didn’t seem snakebit. That seems a better judge than “he could have a bad game.” No kidding. I wasn’t a big believer in the guy at first, but I’ve become convinced. He’s a “game manager” but also capable of slinging it when he needs to. He’s within range of Drew Brees’ season completion percentage record. There’s also the overlooked aspect of leadership and teamwork. QB is more than throwing a ball. If you can make mistakes and the team has your back, that’s invaluable.
I’m not by any means comparing Goff to any of these, but Purdy(4), Burrow(4), Lamar(4), P Manning (6)and 4x’s in 6 games, Montana(4), and Brady even had 6 games with 4 interceptions and I’m sure Mahomes is up there. Sometimes a QB has an off day. Goff has played some solid defenses this season and proven he better than what he put out there Sunday night.
@ okay? 3 INTs….4 INTs….its really beside the point. When I said Mahomes is probably up there, it was meant that he has multiple games with multiple picks thrown. Point being is almost exactly as Rich stated….11/11, 14/14, 18/18 and those are his off games and 5 INTs are his norm? All QBs have off games.
That Goff statement is insane. 3 of those INTs aren’t really on him, and he led them to FG range & TDs that won the game get outta here. His OL was the problem in this game. They needed decker and Ragnow.
I can't believe how many people are shitting on Goff. The Texans came out with a MASTERFUL game plan against the Lions. They said "we are going to force Jared Goff to beat us through the air," and that's exactly what they did, and Goff STILL beat them! Teams would be lining up to sign him to a record breaking contract if he were available today.
@OGtruthserum the kicker scored the last 6 points. And barely at that. And the fact remains, Goff more than doubled his ints in this game alone. Tips, over throws, whatever. The Texans' defense disrupted the Lions game plan. The fact that the Lions had to come back from three scores at all says a lot.
@OGtruthserum Detroit should have railroaded Houston, and they didn't. And that's coming from a Texans fan. I expected that loss. What I did not expect was they would pick off Goff 5 times.
his OL was the biggest issue in that game (for once). They weren’t really protecting him at all and the Texans defense did well covering all his receivers a lot of times. He had very little options & no ones talking about that
I think Rich was spot on when he pointed out Goff’s perfect passing games. You don’t play that well consistently, then have one bad game, and suddenly that one game defines who you are.
Chris doesn't often believe in his own statements presented for the point of this show. He's giv8ng the viewers the "eye brow raisers" to get them invested. Any attention is good attention
So many of those ints were not on Goff. The only worrisome one for me was the deep throw to Jamo. Besides the miscommunication, it shows that he was trying to make a big play to catchup instead of sticking with what they do best. He usually only throws deep balls when his WRs are WIDE open. That was forced because they were down.
There is one key ingredient to building a winner. The Lions and Commanders are perfect examples. Owners have to want to win. Unless that’s the case, teams have no shot.
I like how the conversation about the Steelers turned quickly to how if they lose to the Ravens this week, they would more-or-less have to be playing for a Wild Card, when the Steelers are already up a game in the loss column, and there are plenty of games left in the regular season. With the Steelers having all 6 divisional games left, they can control their own destiny. BTW ... Jackson is a 2 win - 4 loss quarterback against the Steelers lifetime.
That’s true no one can argue his PAST record against the Steelers, however that means absolutely nothing when talking about those two teams playing each other this year.
@@bodryb_and_the_boys I agree with that statement, but either way, the division championship will still be up for grabs no matter who wins this next game.
Chris, you did not watch the SNF game closely. Goff accounted for 2 of those 5 picks. 2 of them were lucky tipped passes and the third was a hail mary before half. Stop this nonsense. Goff is going to be okay. He was playing PERFECT football up until that point. A stinker was inevitable at some point this season. He is built for the moment and this team.

As my great-grandfather has said,"have a million uses for your hands and you will never starve". A1
OVERREACTION Brockman don't get it twisted, Brady had 6 four interception games. In this game against Houston, Goff had two fluke interceptions on tipped balls, one of which was actually a fumble, and another was a hail Mary at the end of the half. He short armed the ball into the ground a few times because no one was open and he didn't want a sack. So enough with the panic about Goff. And Campbell didn't lose the championship game against the niners, it was Josh Reynolds dropping two key passes that would have sealed the game.
@ they already did and he played great? He won them 2 playoff games last year and he is not the reason they lost in the NFC championship what are you talking about?
Zach got his confidence destroyed in New York and I don’t think there was a cast or a priority for him to feel like he was growing in whatever potential he has
You could (paradoxically) speculate that the team might be better with Zach because at least with him as QB the team seemed to make effort, the defense tackled, players played hard... perhaps because the perception was that he was awful so they needed to pick up the slack. Enter Aaron Rodgers and the entire team looks disinterested and aloof... very much like their QBs natural personality.
Goff was short arming throws because of the pressure. He couldn't step up and follow through because a dude was a half step to clocking him. They were missing Decker and it showed.
Its weird because I've seen Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes both play poor games this year where they look terrible, and not just when their being rushed. But then they, like Goff come back and get it done so its just the nature of the game.
He also no longer has elite arm strength so he can't make those throws off the back foot like he could a decade ago. You will see Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes make those throws but goff cannot do that.
@ why would you assume a player has their strongest arm in the NFL? Most quarterbacks reach peak Armstrengh in college. Or in lead up to the nfl combine.
Correct. The criticism of Zach Wilson was he was immature and not a leader. So, the Jets trade for a 40 year-old QB who, also, is not a leader, but rather a narcissistic prima donna who brings his own special brand of toxicity to the locker room.
Yeah honestly idk why people took Sean Payton’s side over Russ in that fiasco. Bro was playing well, had the team at 7-6, was on a 20-4 TD-Int streak, and then Payton sabotaged the whole operation. Why did people let him get away with that?

It's nice to see him successfully revert to that style after a career running for his life every play because his various pro coaches forgot to look at his college tape once he was drafted.

Like you said, their numbers are already practically the same, and Wilson was on an upward trajectory (zoomed out to the year over year stats).
Believe Rodgers is a cancer to any organization, believe that’s why jets don’t have that winning energy or team chemistry,, while he blames all around, puts down his teammates etc….
@@chrisuncleahmad789 He was definitely bad for his first two years on the Jets, but he clearly turned the corner on his third year, but the offense under Hackett regressed around him significantly. He had the 32nd ranked OL last year for christ sake with how injury riddled it was. I wouldn't be surprised to see him balling out somewhere in the future with similar paths to Geno, Baker, and Darnold.
Wilson had no business being drafted that high. I said that from the start. He should have been a late rounds project, or a best, a mid rounds one. With that said, Rodgers at this point in his career where he can't move, combined with his locker room killer moniker, is actually worse than even the worst QB in the league last year in Wilson.
Matt Ryan threw for 5 picks and lost in the NFC Championship game! 5 picks....one on a hail mary at the half, 2 deflections and two where the timing with LaPorta was a hair off and the other just a tad underthrown because of the pass rush. 1-2 picks on the day was the reality of ones that are on Goff. If that is the case, Goff, Baker and Mahomes all have 9 picks and Love, Geno and Darnold have 10! R-E-L-A-X! :)
The Jared Goff take has got to be the worst take Chris has ever had on this show, and that is saying A LOT 😂 Peyton Manning threw 4 INTs in a single game and won the super bowl and was the MVP all in the same year 🤷♂️
I pin last years Lion NFC championship loss on 2 huge crucial pass drops, one huge missed interception , and one bad handoff exchange, not coach Campbell. Just my opinion. As for the Houston game Goff calmed down and directed 3 drives in the 4th qtr.
Peyton Manning had a 5 pick game. Brady had multiple 4 interceptions games. Goff isn't at their level, but it's ridiculous to claim good players don't have bad games. Particularly considering 3 of the picks weren't even on him, and one was a hail Mary before the half.
I’m legitimately stunned by how much Rich fought back against Brockman’s Goff take. Goff is good because he’s surrounded by championship caliber talent on the field, on the sideline, and in the front office. The Lions have the best OL in football which aligns perfectly because Goff is awful if you pressure him. The teams that still manage to pressure the Lions despite their elite OL are usually the teams who beat them. Jared Goff is capable of playing winning football, but he’s not going to put a team on his arm and carry them to victory through any adversity. You can get in his head. You can make him nervous/jittery. He is the biggest roadblock for the Lions because nobody has a bigger chance of falling apart on their team than Jared Goff. This guy isn’t Tom Brady or Peyton Manning or Patrick Mahomes. This guy is Tony Romo.
Putting that game on the coach is the biggest cop out. There were so many decisions that'd be looked at as genius if Reynolds caught two passes or if our receivers in general decided to catch that ball, Gibbs not fumbling etc etc.
I believe Rodgers is like Big Ben was his last few years , he wanted to play but couldn’t move and didn’t want to get hit!! I luv Ben I am Steeler fan, but u knew he didn’t want to get hit any more!! He had taken too many beatings!!!

@@chrisuncleahmad789He might be a bust but he was also drafted to the worst franchise in the NFL! Pretty hard not to be a bust with the Jets look at Rodger’s now
No we don’t. He wasn’t it. His QB play was abysmal. Remember Mike White looked better on that team. How many times did he get benched? The only person that’s owed even a modicum of an apology is Saleh, but even still he couldn’t rally his team to get wins despite the talent he’s had on the team either.
I do agree with the Original Post. Zach had no offensive line worth a damn when they are 32nd in the league as a whole, receivers couldn’t separate fast enough and even the running game didn’t help him. Zach struggled because he felt like everything was literally on his shoulders on the field and he was trying to juggle so much his focus had to be all over the place
I respect Brockman for putting up "Bill Belichick Should Hang Up" as one of the reactions. Because that marriage doesn't make sense to a lot of people.
How quickly we backtrack on the Bears once they actually start playing games. But they have Williams and Odunze and Allen and Moore is all we heard from Brockman all offseason. The same guy who convinced himself that Mac Jones was him.

Goff has always thrown too many INTs his whole career. But he's driving that Lions bus.
At one point in this Lions tenure, he had gone almost 11 months without throwing a pick, just inches away from a record. I wouldn’t say “always.”
Thanks for defending Goff, Rich. No worries over here, Go Lions!!!
Goff had a bad game, but he had weeks of great games before. So i think the bad game was the outlier.
Ohhhhhhhh!!!! Brockman, bringing the HEAT today! "If Jerry calls Bill, he should just hang up!" Brutal.
But he is right. Belichick wants no bs and the Cowboys are bunch of drama queens
Don't understand the love for Belichick. He has a losing record without Brady.
And his spycam.
R-E-L-A-X! :)
Brady threw for 5 interceptions in a game and Peyton Manning threw for 6.
Love the Zack Wilson take lol and how it bothers rich lol
Almost all national media are saying that the Bears should have gotten rid of Eberflus and started fresh.
As a Seahawks fan, saw that Waldron issue coming a mile away.
That may be Chris's best-ever ORM. He's 100% correct about the Jets and Belichick
The Jared Goff take has got to be the worst take Chris has ever had on this show, and that is saying A LOT 😂 Peyton Manning threw 4 INTs in a single game and won the super bowl and was the MVP all in the same year 🤷♂️
Brockman, the Goff call was your biggest overreaction EVER. We'll revisit this in February.
Can't wait for Daniel Jones to be Purdy's backup next year
Oh yeah, like Chris Brockman's "trust" is a requirement for the Lions to play Jared Goff.
My FAVORITE segment…show:) Thank you guys!!!
Bill B and Jerry J sounds more like the undercard for boxing.
As someone who has used them for work Rich it was almost certainly a handheld translator
People getting actually ANGRY about the Jared Goff take need to re-read the premise of this show 😂
I’m legitimately stunned by how much Rich fought back against Brockman’s Goff take.
Don't forget the legitimate waste of roster spot, CJGJ. He LITERALLY did nothing
"On occasion," you can bait Rich into a Jets meltdown on Over Reaction Monday 😂😂
I believe Rodgers is like Big Ben was his last few years , he wanted to play but couldn’t move and didn’t want to get hit!! I luv Ben I am Steeler fan, but u knew he didn’t want to get hit any more!! He had taken too many beatings!!!
On occasion Will Levis looks good too. Rodgers was a massive mistake by the Jets, but that's just being normal for the Jets isn't it.
Ben Johnson loves living in eastern Michigan he wants his kids to have continuity until they graduate. Go read what he said last year
My favorite sports analyst! Rich "full throat" Eisen!
The lions have such a stacked roster that the only way they don’t win a Super Bowl is because Goff has a bad game, that’s the only way.
Even then, he just had his worst game in years and they still won lol
You gotta give the horses their flowers.
Just did a week driving around the US Southwest with the family and my right eye can't stop twitching either Rich. So stupid aggravating. Could have been the Giants also...
We all owe Zach Wilson an apology
Do we? All I heard was he’s a bust yet now suddenly we’re pretending he wasn’t.
Hopefully Philly is calling Belichick!
Can't wait to see the podcast version of the dude-off.
NO SLEEP TILL NEW ORLEANS GO LIONS!!!!
“We can have a dude off” 🤣🤣🤣
How quickly we backtrack on the Bears once they actually start playing games. But they have Williams and Odunze and Allen and Moore is all we heard from Brockman all offseason. The same guy who convinced himself that Mac Jones was him.
Chris always looking for a reason to hate on Goff, Dude had a bad game, maybe he had an unerlying issue that was never discussed. He has been playing lights on week 1-9
He was WAITING for a performance like this just to say he was right the whole time.
Chris better be careful he doesn’t get fired today lol
Wow, Rich is on some copium regarding Aaron Rodgers: "on occasion, he can make some throws". Ouch.
However, he's right on with Jets firing Saleh at the wrong time. They gained nothing by firing Saleh when they did.
I am so used to the Lions being bad when they showed the playoff bracket I immediately got mad when they weren’t on the list but then remembered they would be the 1 seed 😂
Strange times indeed.
Hate from Pittsburgh
We got something cooking in Pittsburgh 🏈🏆😎
ANY OVER REACTION MIGHT BE EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS. DUUUHHH!!!
Sean McDermott should be in the mix for coach of the year man. With all the injuries, turnover and everyone saying it's a rebuild year buffallo is 8-2 since 93 😤
Why would ANYBODY want to coach the Bears, LET ALONE the #1 prospect, Ben Johnson?
