Just used those Lamkins on a wedge reshaft, guy brought in 2017 masters edition DG S400's, was a really fun build - The UTX cords compliment so many builds, so damn well. Awesome work as always 👊
learn a lot from this video.. especially on the steps need t be performed. thanks loggerhead golf. may i know what type of saw disc you use to cut graphite shaft? can it be used to cut steel shaft as well?
It’s a Gryphon ultra fine fiberglass reinforced abrasive blade (mouth full) but yes! You can use this blade for graphite/composite shafts as well as steel shafts!
Not always! It depends if a tip weight will fit in the composite shaft. With the Axioms it didn’t, so our option was tungsten powder in the epoxy. This all comes down to what swing weight you are trying to achieve. 2 grams is about 1 swing weight. Hope that helps!
Amazing - love the work. I was fitted into this combo this summer. Have not pulled the trigger yet. One of the reasons is that my builder really wants to spine the shafts. I think it messes with the whole idea of having something truly beautiful in your bag though.. What difference does it really make? I play Baldo 568MC Competizione with 10th anniversary Modus 115 today. I need more lift and a smoother turf interaction though.
Thanks! We had a podcast with Fujikura a while back that is on our channel and they said that the new Axiom shafts don't have a spine. We still check but it lets you keep the beauty of the clubs if that is what you're worried about.
All we are doing with the drill is roughing up the inside of the hosel. Allows the epoxy to have a better grip so the shaft won’t slip or slide out over time. The weight lost is next to nothing, but every club is swing weighted to the desired swing weight in the end.
@@LoggerheadGolf , Understood. So the same goes for the ferrule when that gets shaved down, too, correct ? Awesome work, by the way. Onward & Upward ☝️💯
@@misterc6012 We do check final swing weight once the build is complete. The weight lost when turning the ferrules is next to nothing so it doesn't have a major effect on swing weight. Sometimes the ferrules match the hosel almost perfect, so we are just turning them with a bit of acetone to clean them up. And we use a felt belt to minimize the amount of material that comes off.

Every bit of weight added to the handle, past the fulcrum point will affect the swing weight. Depends on the weight of your tape, but general rule of thumb is every 5 grams of weight added to the handle is about 1 swing weight.

Way to much BS building those clubs, Great for show absolution does nothing for performance. Watch the tour trailers build a club, shaft out of 5 dozen in the draw, head out of the draw set SW rock on. NO CPM, NO FLO'ing zero BS. Nice work but useless. OBTW been building for 20 years
Curious which step/steps you think aren’t important? Besides CPM’ing, which we do to make sure we have a nice stepping in the irons. It also is a nice way to double check that the shaft wasn’t damaged in shipping.
All shafts that are made for the tour already have been sorted by cpm and raw weight before they make it to the vans .
