  • Also known as "orbitals," superduperuberloops have been my pet move for the past year... although I'm still far from mastering it. My mission: to bring thousands more into the joy of superduperuberlooping! (Note: Out of respect for the glowstringing community I do think people should know that they were called Orbitals first.) Just wanted to let everyone new trying to learn this move to be patient, very patient... I spun poi for hours every week and it took me close to two years to finally feel confortable performing this trick.

    Yes, you can do them with chains but only if you have swivels near the handles, then it works fine.

    I have been practising this without swivels for a year on and off, just got a decent cole cord leash off firetoys and did it straight away, even did a cheesy victory dance. Thanks Nick your a star!

    one tip is notice the way he uses kind of a lop sided jerking motion to get one poi ahead of another, i find it helps to do so to figure out which poi is which; or using different colored poi to figure out which poi is at the top of the rotation and depending on which direction you entered and which way you plan to exit you can learn which needs to be on top at the start of that jerking motion

    Hi! Nice video, you are a very good teacher even for me,a person who does not speak so much English and my understanding is very limited, because you I've learnt many tricks but nowadays haven't been able to perform hyperloops :(. Can yo upload some explaining video in slow motion please? I'll be very thanked!

    Yup, moving the swivels made a huge difference not only in this move but the hyperloops as well! It did take a day or two to get used to the new setup, but it was worth it :)

    If you don't have swivels on your poi you can turn and have it unwind on the other side to extend the time it spins

  • @VillageIdiot453
    @VillageIdiot453 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    yes, you can do them with chain poi, but it is a million times better if you have swivels on the handles.
    i use oval link chain and can make fast orbitals for a good 10 seconds ^^

    How did you install swivels on your sock poi without them slipping loose? That's pretty rad.

  • @DJAJaW

    it does work with sock you just need a shorter thread and it doesnt spin for very long

    I'm still having a bit of trouble with this one. I'm a bellydancer too, so I'd love to be able to incorporate an orbital with a backbend in a routine.

    I have worked on doing this move off and on for a few months and still have the same problem over and over again. When I enter the move, one tether stays longer than the other when I go to tighten down and the other gets pulled to the head on the tether.
    What can I do to fix this?

  • @Fisiek_Inferator
    @Fisiek_Inferator 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, i know how to initiate an orbital but now i have a big problem with going out of it. My pois bouncing of my forearms and tangling, or starting to spin oposite to primal direction. I can't "feel" the right moment to get out of orbital or i just can't do the right move.
    Any clue how to make it right?

  • @INSANEFREAK1

    The Superduperuberloops are actualy called orbitals if you were spinning glowsticks.

  • @supercheetah778

    Coolness!!!!!!!!! I'll still call them orbitals, but superduperuberloops might slip out a few times just because it's a fun term!!!!!!

    I've finally learned how to do orbitals, and I couldn't be happier. They're so much fun and a great move to master after several months of stagnant trick activity. Now that the Nova Scotian winter has come into play, I'm focusing on learning a lot of wraps, spirals, and just inward tricks as it's tough doing six petal antispins with a ceiling above your head.

  • @musctev

    Very nice tut on orbitals! It's interesting to see the swivels on "sock" poi, I'd never even considered that. Needless to say this type of move is a bane with normal socks (due to the twist and lock problems).
    Peace and thanks!

    once i get this move down im going to do a video response with me doing a flip in it lol

  • @CalebMush
    @CalebMush 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yea, orbitals do not work with sock poi. Socks twist up really fast.
    I have some poi that are made with some fairly thin rope. I tried to do an orbital with them and every time I would pull, the ropes would start to shred against each other from the friction. Just a warning to anyone who might read this to check their material.
    I also have poi with tais and since I have very little practice with orbitals, the tails almost always tangle the whole move. Not a good move to learn with tailed poi.

  • @scenethelite
    @scenethelite 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nick, you're sooo good at this. I can only do it sometimes... I never know when it'll actually happen... it just does. Its very mysterious... a mystery I hope to solve soon... where do the superdupperuberloops come from... & where do they go? I can do it to the right behind my head, but only from floor plane to catch them. But left is a stinker...

  • @zhhrah
    @zhhrah 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    tell me about it, i guess there was no worse time to discover the world of poi then now, i already fabricated a short-circuit (if thats the right word for it) in the whole house. xD but with 3 beat weaves, im far away from making orbitals.
