Someertyu it’s also funny considering Rex isn’t an arc trooper, which were trained and granted more freedom than a standard clone, which Rex was Rex is best clone
I just watched the Umbara Arc yesterday after watching the final episode, and I couldn't help but feel the irony of Jesse, a clone who was nearly killed by firing squad, attempts to but another clone and longtime friend to one.
I like how you see Jesse trying to fight it at 0:41 and 1:11. He lowing his guns trying to agree with Rex but he just can't, deep down he hates this. It must be a nightmare for him, probably screaming in his own head for help but he not in control anymore.
They were both together for a pretty long time. Jesse was there when Rex got shot. Sad to see him being controlled like that along with the rest of the clones.
I’m not that well versed in Star Wars, but I would like to assume that once order 66 was declared, all of if not most the troopers were put under a sleep paralysis like situation. So like, those who actually liked their jedi generals were forced to be mentally locked up while the chip took over. I know some clones couldn’t care less about their generals, like how some killed the jedi without hesitation and just embraced it, but it’s just a thought for those who actually had a friendship with them
RPG_Neko I'm pretty sure they were fully awake, when Rex had his chip removed he was upset and told Ahsoka 'I almost killed you' so they fully are aware of what's happening but the chip is in control of their brain not them.
Because he can care less of his rank and Commander throws even more responsibility on him and he may feel like ever since he became a Commander nothing but bad has happened
It's crazy how Rex tries to calm Jesse down through making him recall his past experiences with each other. Just another example of how the inhibitor chip erases such attachments and hardwires the clones to kill those the Emperor deems traitors.
Well, you can tell how he was conflicted. Most of them were. The chips make it harder to resist the conditioning. But not impossible. Look at the Commandos. Also, I think the Null and Alpha Arcs don't have the chips.
Also by him falling to order 66 it was meant to illustrate that the chips and order itself were even worse than previously thought since it gave an example of it quite literally overriding a logical argument in favor of "Kill ANY Jedi" and reducing them the trooper to a machine in a sense.
@@SalinaMoonfall I think it is worse than that. It means that the chips can’t be deceived. It was an obvious cop out and the troopers knew that. Their creative thinking was still there but it was used against them.

Rex: never liked being much of a commander anyways Fans: Dude, we have waited 7 seasons for this!! Gosh I was so happy to hear Rex FINALLY get promoted. Didn’t last long but was worth it in the end
You can tell that Jesse was trying to resist the chip's control as well when Rex made some clear points to him, but eventually fell victim to its effect completely.
Why’s nobody talking about how Sidious gave special orders for Ahsoka’s execution! It really shows how even Palps saw that aside from Padme and Obi, Ashoka could potentially foil his plans for having Anakin as his apprentice due to their closeness/ connection.

I find it interesting that not only did S7 Ahsoka get more facial expressions but they made an effort to make the muscle she gained by fighting more visible. I don't think I've ever actually noticed a difference in muscle size on her arms until this scene lol
I like how Jesse actually stopped and thought about it twice and was like "Well...wait he's technically right..." but then the programming just fully took over any rational thought and stuff.
I kinda feel it's also her body type, cuz she is short. Skinny, and small including the fact that anakin probably is soo aggressive, and relying in physical strength he probably taught ahsoka how to Handel people with that power so she wouldn't get knocked off guard, and maybe she her physical strength when ever the opponent is tired.
0:40 and 1:12 amazing, Rex actually breaks through to Jesse. But the inhibitor chip activates and resets him straight back into order 66 mode. Amazing detail. I love this show.
Rex: "The problem is, Ahsoka Tano is no longer a Jedi, hasn't been for some time." Jesse: "Uhh, this doesn't compute... uhhh... wait, you're under arrest."
I like how the 332nd clones showed a level of restraint when seeing Ahsoka and only fired when ordered to by Jesse, when other battalions across the galaxy would have just started blasting as soon as they saw jedi. You can also see Jesse show a slight hesitation when he considered Rex’s claim, to the point of lowering his guns for a brief moment, before the chip took control again.
i like how the voice actor for the clones makes himself sound older when he was voicing Jesse, Rex, and Cody. it really helps show that these 3 have been around longer than regular clones due to them being elite veterans.
I love how he legitimately addresses the flaw in targeting Ahsoka under the 66 Protocol, it literally makes no sense because she is no longer a Padawan or potential Jedi. It's like Rex is speaking for the fanbase confused by that
@@mattb6369 its probably that the way for them to know what is a jedi or what not in their programming is to recognize them as the people with lightsabers
I just realised that Rex's visor is still in the 1st phase of the clone armor variant, while his helmet design is phase 2. Jesse's helmet is all the way the phase 2 of the clone armor.
The way Jesse hesitates, the way he desperately tries to convince Rex to obey, the way he almost tries to lower his guns. Shit, how many of them died for something they could never control
Oh appo did, probs one of the only ones, kix did aswell. Just kinda got revived 60 years after the war. Thats the only guys from torrent I know survived
The way Rex really sells his excuse not to kill Ashoka is actually really brilliant...Shame it didn`t work, but gotta give the plan more credit i think...Just how he plays on friendship and orders and stuff...I honestly can`t love this show more than i already do...This series is only gonna grow and by some time i think it`s going down as one of the best animated series out there
I just finished every Star Wars movie and show it’s really over this moment made me feel some type of way and I’m 21 and I’m crying like I’m ten bro it’s so sad it’s really over
CommanderCalins1 I totally agree I’m glad they were given a proper and honorable death instead of having to go through that of order 66 and watching them having to do that would have been terrible.
It's been theorized that Jesse was so willing to kill Ahsoka here because of what happened with Pong Krell. He'd been betrayed by a Jedi before and hearing that Ashoka would do the same just infuriated him. He may have actually been strong enough to resist but chose to do it anyway.
he had plenty reason to hate krell because he saw it first hand. he isnt an idiot. also, i think rex received ARC training, so if he couldnt resist it, the same could be said about jesse. apart from being clones, they're just really in shape and mentally strong humans. im sure a clone like dogma wouldve followed through even without a chip.
@Harold Cruz it was a Rogue Jedi who opposed what the order was supposed to stand for. He was trying to cater to Count Dooku and join him. Had it been a Jedi who would have been defended by the Order, that would be different. Anakin and Ahsoka were the Jedi he was most familiar with so he likely had a net positive opinion on Jedi in general.
Love how Rex tries convincing Jesse and the other clones to disobey Order 66 but because of the inhibitor chips they can't disobey the Order. I'm guessing that the troops who followed through with the order once the programming in the chips wore off they felt deep depression because of killing someone they considered friends and in rare cases loved like the Clone Commando who had a secret affair with a Jedi Knight though he didn't kill her it were other clones that killed her. I also noticed that some of the Clones looked as if they were thinking maybe as if they were fighting their chips with reason and logic that Ashoka isn't a Jedi anymore even wondering would that make her a traitor
0:53 notice how the astromech beeped when Jesse said order 66. It shows how the clones were being used like droids and what’s even more upsetting is that Fives said that “we are not a bunch of unthinking droids” before he was going to be ‘executed’ alongside Jesse.
You can see the expressions of Rex and Jesse under their helmets, specially of Rex after being accused of treason just like with Vader after talking with Luke in rotj
Guess Rex might have forgotten that back when he was under the chip's control earlier, he issued an additional order that any Clone Trooper who do not comply with Order 66 and help the Jedi will be shot for treason.
Vince Lumontad it’s a distraction. It wasn’t suppose to work, just buy time. No matter how much it made sense, the chip wasn’t going to allow reasoning.

Why’s nobody talking about how Sidious gave special orders for Ahsoka’s execution! It really shows how even Palps saw that aside from Padme and Obi, Ashoka could potentially foil his plans for having Anakin as his apprentice due to their closeness/ connection.
And he calls on obiwan to be killed FIRST even before Yoda.

Fighting in a galactic war for several years tends to give one more than a little bit of muscle. Especially when your master is Anakin Skywalker. XP

You can tell the clones personality are changing when you hear the clones are going from using there nicknames to using their birth numbers.
Let’s hope all that training pays off . Bro the tie in was amazing I had to

"JESSE, JESSE LISTEN TO ME, WE NEED TO COOK."
Before he demoted Rex you can either see the chip calculating the logic Rex gave him or maybe Jesse trying to fight the chip briefly.

1:16 The fact that Jesse considered Rex's point, but then set his blasters kills me!!!!! 😭😭😭😭 He wasn't as strong as Rex.
Jesse was there since season one I’m sad he died this way...and he had the sickest arc trooper armor
Jesse we need to disobey orders
Fives was the one almost sentenced to death in that arc and yet he died trying to save the Jedis, so nah.

“Yeah, I didn’t much like being a commander anyway.”
Goat line.
Are you dumb
Alex Reyes who?
Vince Lumontad that’s not an additional order. If you don’t comply you’re executed for treason as well, that’s part of the directive.
He knows, but Rex is trying his best here.
