    There is a lot of air inside the bag. If it's fully sealed, it will pop open after being squeezed hard. The hole may be designed for preventing this issue.

    Two thumbs up for foreignmre.com I've ordered many times sampling MRE's from around the world and they've never failed me yet. Good prices and FAST shipping. Funnily enough I've just ordered a 3 and 4 so I'm watching to get a heads up on what to expect.

    Please man, get a new blade. Kershaw makes a good inexpensive series of assisted opening knives. And ditch the serrated edge, it's shit for honing a good edge. Good video though. 👍

    Great review friend ! All items looked tasty. 2 packs of magnesium in each FRH, Very cool. Hot meal finally, not lukewarm. Sounds like extra chille sauce or hot sauce would be A nice addition, or at least some salt and pepper? Keep up the great work, Peace, John, Magnum.

    looks like a nice meal, don't forget to sharpen your knife!!

  • @digi55
    @digi55 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    why did u use your knife on the FRH's they clearly have tear notches on the to top open and a second one down further to tear to make them easy to remove and not burn your fingers...

      I've had one where it tore down the side when I opened it and I had to catch the food pouch and the heater. Maybe he's had a similar experience.

    My guess for the hyperactive FRH is that you may be on patrol I; a cool to cold climate and those haters may need to heat the food sachets from near freezing point.

    Compared to the Russian 24 hour pack, the Chinese one seems a bit skimpy on food items. Though the main course appears to reasonably large.

    • @Vostadues
      @Vostadues 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That pack of Type 13 is just 1 meal... Not 24 hours ration pack.
      Type 13 is measured in a kind of strange way...
      1 Pack of Type 13 a day is enough to ensure cal intake in a survival situation.
      2 Packs of Type 13 a day will give you enough cal intake for a normal daily life with activity.
      3 Packs of Type 13 a day will grant enough energy for combat situation.

      Chinese have other pickled vegetables as well. So they have to distinguish them with Cucumbers.

    I wonder why there were no sauce packets included, don't the Chinese enjoy lots of different sauces?

    China and Japan use some of the same characters. Try google translate Japanese to engilsh.

    • @vinapocalypse
      @vinapocalypse 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's not really accurate. The Japanese Kanji character set shared most characters with Chinese Hanzi character sets (simplified, used mostly on the mainland; and traditional, used more in the south, Hong Kong, etc). But there are some differences: Japan has created some wholly new characters, and some other Japanese characters have changed visually over time. Also Japanese has two other characters which are syllabaries (used for syllables) sets called Katakana and Hiragana. A Chinese reader could probably infer most of the Japanese and vice versa, because usually the meaning is similar, that's not guaranteed.
      What Nathan or Military MREs should try doing is translating the characters in sets of two (first two, next two, etc) and see if they can get the meaning that way, because as I understand it modern Chinese words tend to come in pairs of characters
