- The man who murdered a young teen girl in Burnaby, B.C., seven years ago has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.
Ibrahim Ali was convicted of first-degree murder last winter in the July 2017 slaying. The victim’s identity is protected by a publication ban.
As a B.C. Supreme Court justice handed the sentence down on Friday, Ali - who joined the hearing by video from prison - stood and said he did not kill the victim and that his sentence was unfair.

Better apply death penalty , or life without parole. From the country where he came from, women are treated as second class citizen
Who let him in Canada?
@@trumpwon8064A local church. Just google yourself
@@trumpwon8064you guessed it... Mr.Trudeau
It breaks my heart that this child lost her life to a man my government should never have let into my country. It's sickening that this child's name will not be known but this monsters name won't be forgotten. My heart stands with the unnamed victims family.
They should have made him listen. How is that justice. SHAMEFUL day to be Canadian.
And what is Ali doing in Canada to begin with?
Who let him in?
This is on you folks
What a backward, inept place Canada has become
It has become profusely enriched.....
His culture enriches Canada? No it doesn't and never will.
Murderer is cowardly like his lawyer.
What a coward, covering his ears during the victim impact statements.
The defense attorney's tactics were despicable and pathetic.
Of course he covered his ears wouldnt expect anything else! May jailhouse justice be served hard and cold! RIP Marissa ❤ and prayers to the family
How did you know the girl's name
@@chantellegattrell7073This was everywhere back in 2017. Cos the girl was missing and the local community was looking for her before her body was found hours later.
Life without parole..end of sentence.Life should mean life, no parole.
He is a Syrian refugee. He committed the crime only four months after landed in Canada. Because he got so much money from Canadian government and the donations from the humble Canadian people that he didn’t have to work. However the Canadian government didn’t provide wives for him. If the Canadian government provided him with four wives this wouldn’t happen. It’s the government fault.
Yes, I agree.
He's just following the tenets of his 'profit'
lglifegarden688 agreed
Poor Marissa. She was just thirteen. What a horrible man
The enriching of Canada's culture has had enough. They can enrich where theyre from. If theyre capable of doing it in a culture they make a point of not being a part of, theyre capable of doing it to their own. Enough.
Cultural enrichment.....
god bless her and the family
He suppose to get the death sentence, he took that innocent child's life !!!! Then he still have the nerve to say he didn't o this it's unfair 😠
he should still be thankful for that life imprisonment....back in his country the punishment is death
Another Islam
Judge made the right decision. Life in prison no parole.
That's not justice
8-5 yrs with good behavior
@@billclay9511 He has to serve 25 years before he can apply for parole.
All the CBC videos covering this case say the victim's name is covered by a publication ban - yet CTV names her and shows her photo?
Couldn't run to his childhood bedroom so he plugged his ears like a 1990's baby..
Great video guys
Canada needs to televise court trials
