Idk why people forget it. You use it a lot, especially in like every other shrine, so I never forgot about it like I did with cryonis in the last game. Even recall I would remember pretty often and use even though I didn’t use it as much as the other abilities. Really all the abilities in this game are pretty memorable and have constant utility unlike the last game
I cannot count how often I've been frustrated by a puzzle that would've been solved with ascend in a second.

Majora's Mask took OoT and made something entirely new out of its assets, new world, new premise, new mechanics, entirely different design, and they had 1 year to do it... TotK takes BotW and just adds and adds and adds infinitely to it, expanding it up, down, sideways, and overall making it into the true masterpiece BotW could be. It's the same kind of game, just a TON more of it in ways that the predecessor lacked, it's like TotK itself is a game 12 years in the making.
The MM comparisons are complete nonsense. Even Aonuma recently said so.
And the "BotW DLC" garbage is coming from actual neanderthals. You best ignore it if you want to not engage with, and possibly catch, the stupid.

Yeah, i also did this since my work shift ended on Friday, so from that moment until the end of Sunday, I pretty much only played TotK
Love this game, it has so much content with lore, sidequests, and puzzles
I think I played a total of like 7-8 hours today alone, stopping a few times only to pick my siblings up from school and eat dinner. Even though my head started hurting from screen time I cannot put it down lmao
The depths section of the game is amazing!
There's so much to do too.
I thought it was just going to be sort of empty, but no. There's another entire plot line down there.
So much to do, so much to see
Having so far completed the Rito and Goron dungeons, along with the Construct Depot (which has probably been my favorite part of the game so far), I can say that all three of the game's 'layers' so to speak are really fleshed-out. Maybe the Sky Islands less than the Surface and the Depths, but they all have a reason to explore them, and it's been incredible.
It’s actually shocking. I was not expecting that. I just stopped doing anything on the surface and have been methodically unlocking the light roots. I’ve found so many cool things.

i noticed 1 large zonai charge in the capsule gives 10 but 5 large zonai charges give 60 so it seems its always best to put the most you can in a machine

Watching Vin play this was more than enough to convince me to pick the game up when I can.
What ive noticed above this above Tears of the Kingdom is that its kinda difficult, the enemies hit harder, some enemies are armored, weapons do less damage
You're right. I think they did that to encourage you to explore and find materials and armor to buff your attack and defense
@Dsy456 the bosses are unique as as the normal bosses but you don't do as much damage, this a pretty difficult game
It actually encourages you to explore and upgrade your armor, in botw, armor didn't matter much, you could just not wear anything and be fine

Also, you don't have the same powers as last time as well.
Well the game expects you to use Fuse a lot. If you're running around with a normal looking sword most of the time you're kinda playing the game wrong. It also expects you to defuse already fused weapons and refuse them with something else. They also made arrows less spammy which was what people were over utilizing alot in the previous game. Now you have to think more about encounters than before which is something people are not doing, hence why the seemingly increase in difficulty. People are just spamming Bomb arrows and blowing themselves up instead of using muddle buds or puffshroom or dazzle fruit in their arrows.
1:40:53 I think arrow fusion should've been a list of items you chose to have access to while aiming your bow. Like you'd make a list of items from the pause menu then while aiming only those items you chose were available so you didn't have to scroll your entire inventory to find an item you haven't used before.
Ehhh most of the time they show up in the strongest sort anyways so that wasn't never an issue for me.

Sweetest peach but not everyone likes peaches was a great way to put it. This new one isn't personally for me for a number of reasons, but I'm still getting a ton of vicarious enjoyment through watching Vinny enjoy it and it seems like a great time.
I'm never going to play this but I'll enjoy watching vinny play it.

I hope Vinny doesn't look too much at chat to find things or figure things out. Anyone can look for help whenever they want and doesn't have to listen to this, but I think it would be more fun for anyone to figure things out on their own. Like how he didn't expect that enemy to appear after he defeated the Gloom Hands in the previous stream, he was surprised and caught off guard. But regardless, the streams are still enjoyable.

Yeah the OST feels like they took those complaints about BOTW's use of minimalism to heart. To be fair, it still has all that kind of stuff but it knows when to pull out the powerful tracks as well.

Where there are Lightroots in the depths,, there are shrines on the surface and vice versa.
Two handed weapons are great for a lot of fights. The two hit combo tends to go off before a one-handed sword's 4 hit combo, which leads to getting hit less. They hit harder as well and also often have more durabiliity. Laslty, spin to win works wonders on most boss fights once they are vulnerable, though you need enough stamina.
To defeat armored enemies, you need either a blunt weapon (or one with something blunt attached, such as rocks or some horns) or you can use bombs.
Don't sleep on Muddlebuds and Puffshrooms. Muddlebuds cause enemies to become confused and attack their allies. You can use it before or during a fight to either reduce their numbers or take some heat off of you. Puffshrooms create a cloud that allows you to get a sneakstrike or two in (I've gotten 3 before). Sneakstrikes do a lot more damage than normal hits and can be used to make your stronger weapons go further.
Edit: Also, your decision if you want to go for the Dark Tunic or not. On one hand, Poes are very easy to get, I had over 2000 and that was with buying some of the other outfit pieces from the statues. But on the other hand, The Dark Tunic set is kind of a waste. Each piece has a defense of 3, it can't be upgraded, and the only effect is a set bonus of moving faster at night, same as the Stealth Outfit's set bonus (and that outfit provides a sneak bonus for each piece along with at least a bit more defense). Just know that to get the full set you have to find several of those statues. IMO the better set to go for is the "of the Depths" set. Since that provides gloom resistance.
The sky rewind boulders should pulp a 100 yard radius when they land again

Rather than borrowing from Princess Mononoke directly, a lot of the similarities come from the fact that LoZ and Mononoke are drawing inspiration from Japanese folklore. Its possible LoZ did borrow some design elements at some point, but the series itself is older than the movie, so not everything could be drawn from it.
You say that, but the zelda games post-mononoke definetly have a few aesthetic choices informed by the movie.

@@herosshade2247 Yeah I figured that argument was bunk when Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarok etc. were announced. Hyrule really does feel different, too. It's not just a superficial thing.
Nah, GTA 6 is supposed to be more like Red Dead Redemption 2 than GTA 5, in terms of interactivity and graphics/physics/texturing. You're supposed to be able to do way more and supposed to be more realistic, with an entirely new engine, scaled up AI and all that.
But yeah, a lot of the assets used in TOTK were literally going to be in BOTW but Aonuma said it was too much content and should be used in a sequel, so saying it is a DLC isn't too crazy but it's also way more of an expansion that it just can't be called a mere DLC.
