    I am sure a lot of people mentioned that image before and maybe even mentioned in this video. Haven't watched it yet. Where it explains after this episode that Muriel and Eustace are forever dead in the rest of the series because they were turned into puppets. That it was all in Courage's imagination that they were alive.
    "Plot Twist"
    "The episode The Great Fusilli, is the last episode of season 1 of Courage The Cowardly Dog and it ends with a scene where Courage is basically controlling the dead bodies of Muriel and Eustace as puppets in attempt to keep his life with them going. The more you think on this subject, the more psychological it becomes. This scene implies that after season 1, all episodes of the series are nothing but thoughts that Courage is having in his mind. It implies that Muriel and Eustace truly have died but that Courage has gone insane and made himself believe they're still alive and is trying to make us believe that as well."
    Why I hate cartoon conspiracy theory stuff. What was worse if the episode where they are both turned into paper and their bodies or skin I should say is left on the chair and bed? Now they really look.. you know.

      I don’t see it brought up very often, but “Cabaret Courage” really traumatized me as a kid. It takes place in a giant infectious stomach! Big Stinkin City was also really creepy with the roach design and “Help!” written on the wall and the mysterious noises around that.

    I think the month should definitely end with ‘Remembrance of Courage’s Past’. The Season 4 finally I think.
    It’s dark in a non-traditional sense, like ‘The Mask’. And while these episodes are great and made the show what it is, Courage to me was also remembered for it’s artistic and truly heartwarming story telling. This episode has everything that’s great about Courage and I would love to see the month end on a high note rather than it be mediocre.

    Idk if it qualifies for Doug's brand of darkness, but I recommend Liberty's Kids. It aired on PBS KIDS when I was young and it takes place during the revolutionary war. Just a thought because there are very adult things being tackled (among them the slave trade back then). I don't have a specific episode in mind, but if any standout, please by all means

    Me, I always found this episode one of the more disturbing ones, even before the ending. Maybe it's how the Great Fusilli speaks, maybe it's because of the invisible audience.

  • @nikkis.2066
    @nikkis.2066 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    One of my fav episodes just because that twist AND conclusion pack a bit of a punch with it having been lead by a seemingly tame start and middle. The fact the stage is this faceless, voiceless entity (lest the cheers are from it itself) that's sentient, almost like those creatures that hang from cave ceilings and catch whatever comes across their tendrils, it drops puppet strings and changes you from flesh to wood. Like if you actually think about what that process would be like, IE the strings draining your innards and soul, leaving a husk of yourself....is pretty unsettling.
    I think the constant theme song, which sounds like a cross of an according and organ grinder is just so unassuming but Sinister. It's catchy and lures you in compliments what the episode is aiming for with it's story and villain.

    I agree with Doug, puppets can be either charming or thoroughly creepy depending on their design and "personality." They are the definition of "uncanny", which is why they are popular subjects of horror films or scary television series.

    I think you didn't analyze deep enough this time, I found it dark and creepy since the beginning because of the way Fussilli tries to convince them by saying they would get rid of all of their problems and worries by being turned into puppets and (implying) they'll have to quit their free will. That's the way I see it.
    And you definitely have to review Courage in the Big Stinkin' City

    There’s a theory I had with this episode. Fusilli made a deal with demon (the two marionette masks) for fame in exchange the demon devours the souls of the humans turning the humans into puppets with the strings, and because he failed to claim Courage’s soul Fusilli paid his long overdue debt with the demon consuming his soul becoming a puppet of the demon itself.
