    Sorry for the delay.
    We had some major technical difficulties.
    Also, you're not seeing projectile tumbling. That's just the paper target tearing.
    Remember, on Sat-Sun 12-13 March, 2022, we will be making an appearance at the Polk county gun show, held at the Polk county fairgrounds in Rickreall, Oregon.
    Hope to see you there.

      would you ever do a video with a 460 rowland barrel , where you can put it on a standard 45acp 1911/glocks, turning it into a viable deep woods bear defense gun. vs 44 magnum revolver, ect. one of those cool practical upgrades i wish people would talk about more.

      In fairness, you've been shooting that 1911 and that Beretta 92FS for years, so it would be expected that you shoot them both better. Probably wouldn't have hurt to point that out in the video. Other than that, seemed like a fair review to me.

      That should be every manufacturer’s policy.

    • @Uberragen21
      @Uberragen21 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That has not been my experience over the past 2 years. I've tossed out easily a few dozen because of poor quality, like bullets seated too deep and primers not seated deep enough or brand new (not reloaded) ammunition with messed up cases. The manufacturers seem to be too busy churning out ammo and ignoring quality control.
      I used to not pay much attention as I'm loading the magazines, but I've changed my tune. I now inspect every round in every box I buy.
      Ammo QC sucks these days.

    I like that distinguishing comment at the end: "This is a firearm that _I_ can't shoot very well."
    I had a Walther PPQ that I could _not_ shoot. It made no sense to me; it had a fantastic trigger, the reviews were great, my friends shot it well, but every time I went to the range with it I could not group with it at all. On each occasion, I'd switch back to my Glock or Smith and shoot just fine.
    On the individual level, some things just do not gel... but that's life I suppose.

    • @mig50cc
      @mig50cc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I can relate. I didn't shoot the PPQ as well as the P320 full size. I will say that shooting that PPQ was fun thanks to that fantastic trigger and comfortable grip.
      But that was the 9. I tried the PPQ again a few years later in 45 and, by my lowly standards, it's one of the best pistols I've ever shot when taking both speed and accuracy into account. It could be the 45's ever so slightly larger size, and yet I have small hands. Like you said there are some things I just don't get...but I'm glad I got the PPQ45!

    Talking about ability to shoot a particular firearm brought to mind a personal incident. The 10mm was just beginning to be generally available. I got one of the very first Colt Delta's. On the way home, we (my brother and cousin, and I), pulled over at a safe location to shoot it. At 25 yards, off hand, brand new pistol, brand new ammo, I was able to hold a 6 inch group. I was very pleased with myself considering all the "new stuff" involved. My cousin then took that same gun, same ammo, same distance, same day, and proceeded to shoot a one inch group. Talk about letting the air out of my sails 🤣. Of course, it helped my ego a great deal when I remembered that my cousin was a member of the "Governor's 20" in his state's National Guard (one of the 20 best shooters in the whole state). The 1911 frame was his cup of tea at any time. As an aside, he once told me that his Ruger Target 22 was more accurate than his Browning Medallion. Since both were capable of one hole groups on the range, I had difficulty at first. Then he pointed out that the one hole group of the Browning measured 23 caliber diameter and the Ruger had a 22.5 caliber diameter group. Since I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt that I'd never be able to tell any difference, I simply accepted. Sadly, my cousin is no longer with us, but I remember that day like yesterday.

Being blunt a gun you use every day know have sighted in for yourself. Has your grips sights your ammo, that you have shot for many many hours over many months/years will always perform better than a borrowed gun that you have fired a few times and put a box or two down range. That simple change from makes a lot of difference if they gave you a bunch of grips all the sites and 100 boxes of ammo to test and learn with you may find things a lot different.

    They sent me rounds free of charge to cover for my lot of S95. No BS involved. I had around 10% light strikes, but my accuracy was not as bad on Paul's. Maybe it's because I use a red dot and Paul sticked to irons. At 100 yards, I was getting 5-8 inch groups and I'm not the best shooter, just using a range bag as a rest.

However, he would fire a 4-5" group with his 1911 at the same target at 20 yards. I fired his USP 40 and had similar groups which I'd consider good at the same target at 20 yards. When I fired his 1911, I also got similar groups. So it seemed that he just couldn't shoot the USP 40 well at all and there was nothing wrong with the pistol. What's interesting is that these are all PRODUCTION firearms. I have a production firearm that I sent to Wilson Combat for "improvements" (a 92A1). When I fired it out of the box, I was grouping 4-5" at 20 yards which is pretty standard for me unless it's a 3" or less barrel, then they open up a bit. When I got the pistol back from WC, I was grouping inside a baseball at 20 yards (about 2-3 inches I'm guessing, not sure the diameter of a baseball). It was a significant improvement and I was genuinely surprised because they are the best groups I've ever shot at that range with a pistol. I fired around 400-500 rounds that day and the pistol shoots so well it felt like cheating. There were many other improvements that made the weapon cycle worlds better than stock, handle better, and just had that extremely finished feel. I was laughing with joy almost hysterically. I have also fired a few other pistols that were "improved" by a smith for match shooting. They were a full-size Canik, a Colt 1911 ARMY issued, and a Smith & Wesson M&P. These were all pistols owned by friends and I was able to shoot them before and after the "improvements". There was a very noticeable difference between the stock production pistol and after they were worked on by professional smiths, in that the "improvements" actually were just that. So my point is that ANYTHING that is mass-produced will be different and possibly greatly different from one to the next. Having a professional work out all the imperfections that happen with mass production machines "can" provide something much closer to the true potential of the design. It is also possible to get a "lottery winner" straight from production, meaning it "randomly" fit together well and worked very closely to its design potential. I have a Century Arms C39V2 that shoots excellent and haven't had a single issue with it despite many buyers reporting a couple of the same issues (weak metal/casting). I have seen this many many times with production vehicle engines. All the parts are "exactly" the same, yet each engine produced can be greatly different from one to the next. So hopefully you'll be lucky or you send it off to have it cleaned up so it runs as designed.

      It's not the pistol, it's the OEM sights. RMR / RDS would cut his group size down dramatically. This is a 4-5 MOA pistol using factory 7.5 FK ammunition.

    I know that you are much more familiar with the Beretta 92 and Colt 1911. ( Yeah buts).
    I'm not sure if this is accurate, (no pun intended) but I read that the FK Brno, has the same POI at 25 meters and 100 meters, due to the trajectory of the 7.5 round. Not sure if that's true.
    Also, would accuracy improve possibly if you mounted a red dot, maybe a SRO? Just throwing this out there. Great review as always.

    It would be interesting to see how some of your crew shoots it. I ran into a similar problem with the SIG P365. I like SIG pistols, I own a few, and I really wanted to like the 365. I just couldn't shoot it well. It was hitting several inches low at 15 yards for me with all types of ammo. I thought it was the sights at first, but my son and one of the range officers shot it just fine. Turns out, it's too small for my big fat hands.

    I have no personal accuracy complaints with mine, but most places I've shot top out at 25 yards. I have no doubts Mr. Harrell is a better shooter than myself and capable of handling the pistol. I will say the stock iron sights are very uninspiring and I've placed a red dot on mine which is much improved. I believe the stock iron sights are one area where the gun does underperform for the price.
    I also have found the S95 ammo issues disheartening as that's the least expensive ammo and the type most likely to be used for personal defense. I'm glad they seem to be rectifying this, it's very disappointing to pay more than $1 a round for ammo of questionable reliability.
    I'm very happy with my purchase, especially now that I've collected both barrels and can shoot 3 standard calibers in addition to 7.5. But I admire the honesty of critical reviewers as well as the company taking the criticism and working to make it better.
