I would have predicted that the Ranger would have been the best all around, the additional velocity only reinforces my assumption. A few of my friends swear by their boutique ammo, but none of them practice with it. I've always held that you need to practice with the ammo you carry and if you can't afford to practice with boutique ammo, whether due to availability or cost, you shouldn't be carrying it. For me, the Winchester Ranger line and Remington HST line are about the best all around in that regard. I've been impressed with Armscor lately too.

There's the saying "those who teach, can't do", I assume the majority of teachers are like that, especially today. The best teachers IMO are those who really know their stuff, have a passion for it, and really wants to share and instill that in others. Paul is the latter.

Keep in mind this is a 13 and a third minute demonstration. If you took a semester-long course in ballistics to understand the hows and whys it would not be as entertaining or to the point. Learning how and why is work, watching it happen is entertainment. Chemical engineering is not particularly simple or easy, but fireworks are pretty good time.

I would have loved to see the Winchester 125gr bonded JHP @1,400+ fps performance on the meat target. Or better yet, 125 gr Speer Gold Dot. But alas, given ammo availability what it is, we can all continue to speculate about the viability of .357SIG and wait with anticipation for the next Paul Harrell .357SIG video. Keep ‘em coming, Mr. Harrell!

That headshot was indeed .357 Sig from a Sig P229. And the shot went through the guys skull(dropping him instantly) and lodged in the wall.
