The music videos of the 80s were the absolute best! They all told a little story behind the song. Some were silly, some funny, some sad, etc. but they were all great! It's a shame that videos changed with just half naked back up dancers and the like, and then MTV gave up on music videos altogether and focused on shitty reality shows. I miss the 80s so much, and I was only a little girl back then.

this song just popped into my head after 30 some years. i was a big fan of this song. i remember an interview with H.L.S. when this song was a big hit. he said the were in the (ahem) entertainment part of some major city, and some said that when one of the working girls strutted by, the guy turned to watch her walk away, and said "i wish i had a girl who walked like that!" and Henry Lee thought, "now thats a song! to me, Henry Lee Summers was like a john melloncamp with more range. they were both indiana boys.
Just heard this song on iHeart Radio today, for the first time in forever and a day. Forgot what a great tune it was. An unabashedly fun song. Oh, and that mullet!
Freshman year at college. Two Indiana Rock-n-Roll bands play back-2-back in a loading dock at sunset. Midwest girls shakin' what they got and the boys dancin' as best they can. Every hoot and holler multiplied by a thousand. One of the best nights EVER!!
Me and Henry went to High School together! There was a Rock, Pop, R&B, Soul, Country and Oldie Band called the "Main Thing" which Henry later joined. He was great along with the Band Leader Rick Jeffries. Keith Strong (R.I.P.) was the Original Lead Singer (he was something like a Sidney Poitier look alike). Henry (we called him Hank) was a comedian but, we called him the "White Earl the Pearl" because his Basketball Skills and Talent was 2nd to none!!!
Simpler times! So glad I lived and experienced the 8Os as a teen age American kid! Something about the drums/symbols in this song that just make me get overwhelmed with happiness and I even tear up! Thank you Henry Lee and band! A true American classic that will forever be one of my all time favorites!

that's the kentucky waterfall
Just found this on Spotify and I’m absolutely loving it! 🔥
this song just popped into my head after 30 some years. i was a big fan of this song. i remember an interview with H.L.S. when this song was a big hit. he said the were in the (ahem) entertainment part of some major city, and some said that when one of the working girls strutted by, the guy turned to watch her walk away, and said "i wish i had a girl who walked like that!" and Henry Lee thought, "now thats a song! to me, Henry Lee Summers was like a john melloncamp with more range. they were both indiana boys.
That's what I was thinkin
Moral of the story is anybody that has a choir following him around shouldn't worry about getting a girl
Love this song Henry was a good old Indiana guy very underrated should've been bigger than he was!!!!!
If he left Indiana moved out to LA and had a hate for drugs and a great manager ...he would still be on top
That sounds like the place where I saw him play near my hometown
In a comedic way expressed but true. Love is hard 2 find.
I love Henry Lee Summer ❤️ He is great. When I want to laugh I watch this video ❤️ stay safe everyone and have a good day 😘
Remember listening to this 35 years ago this week awaiting a parking slot to open up at Lee County Park in Ft Myers Beach FL for spring break!
Loved this song! Old school 80z. #still sounds good in 2020
80s and 90s was the years for music and nothing beats the 80s
all it takes,is for someone to care about him. and give him another push. and he would be back on top of his game.
Loved this song then, love it now.
Fun song, his scream near the end cracks me up every time.
JJ G gives me shivers down my neck every damn time but I love it
Me and Henry went to High School together! Henry (we called him Hank) was a comedian but, we called him the "White Earl the Pearl" because his Basketball Skills and Talent was 2nd to none!!!
from one hoosier to another, henry you are the best!
Man, Henry Lee Summer had one of the best Mullets ever.
I opened for Henry Lee at Richmond Indiana Rose Festival in 1996. Great band!
Went to school with his keyboard player in the 90's.
one of my favorite of the 80's.
Simpler times! So glad I lived and experienced the 8Os as a teen age American kid! Something about the drums/symbols in this song that just make me get overwhelmed with happiness and I even tear up! Thank you Henry Lee and band! A true American classic that will forever be one of my all time favorites!
I'll never get tired of this song ever. This goofy redneck had a voice!
