  • **This is for Liftmaster and Chamberlain with up down arrow programming dated before 2/2022. We are making an updated video for the newest units.
    This short video shows how to set the forces and limits of newer Liftmaster openers. This tutorial only applies to units that have electronic style limits. Note you can just reset the forces but generally it's best to just reprogram it all at once.

    Thanks for the tutorial very easy to follow! I was at my wits end with it, tried programming it 5 times with door going down all the way and then finished up and door would go down till almost closed and go back up. Finally after some time figured out the bottom of my door had some dirt and leaves on it causing the safety to trip. My old one didn't have the sensors

After learning that it's possible to adjust the limits, now the garage closes tight. I probably didn't need to replace the weather strip.*

    Great video, if you could answer me this question. Today I went to spray some lube on the chain because it was really noisy. After the lube I push the button to open and then I push the button to close and then my nightmare began. In open position when I punch button to close it goes about 6 inches and then it comes back to open position. I cannot get it to move from there. When I put the lube I did not do anything other than spray on the chain but now for some reason it’s stuck in that position when right before the lube it was working correctly. Do you happen to have a suggestion of what It can be or what I can possibly do?

    The only thing I would add to this is the sensor range check isnt just about checking the light to get the strongest signal while moving up and down, but also in and out. My green sensor would blink on and off on intensity of the green light depending on how much I went up and down. Going through the steps in this video didnt fix the problem. Just by chance I tried to align them again, only this time I happenned to also turn it in and out, the light then stayed on and with a stronger green light... problem fixed. So make sure you check all directions directions.

    The video is helpful, but I'm on my second house with Liftmaster openers and they seem to require constant fussing with the sensors, and even then we have inadvertently left the door open when it does one of those last minute reversals which we don't catch.
    Can anyone recommend a quality opener that offers decent safety without being a pain to live with?

    • @1stchoicedoorsllc.253
      @1stchoicedoorsllc.253  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly out of all the brands we see liftmaster by far has the least issues with eyes. We run a couple service calls a day just for safety eye issues on all brands. It is the single biggest pain in the industry. If you are having that many issues and you have them mounted to the tracks you may try and order the wall mount bracket adapters. Sometimes the tracks are just to tight or shake to much.

    mine was going all the way down, and up again so I would hit the button again before going all the way up, goes down hits the ground and back up, that pissed me off!!, it took about 5 tries to stay down. I reprogrammed it like you showed and voila, no longer reverses when it goes all the way down.

    • @1stchoicedoorsllc.253
      @1stchoicedoorsllc.253  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a fairly common issue. Generally the ground has heaved a bit or just something randomly shifted. Sadly with these newer openers we get a lot of call to simply reprogram. I actually made this video for these customers to try and save then a service call.
