Liftmaster 8500w error code 1-5. Sometimes it's a very easy fix.
มุมมอง 84K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This Liftmaster 8500w was showing a code 1-5 which most google searches show as a huge problem. However from our experience more often than not it's simply disengaged. This one was new construction and never had power before. many times a kid pulled on it or something along those lines.

High quality explanation here! ❤
Got 1-5 light sequence on my HD930EV. Chamberlain right quick sent me a new Travel Module. Was such a let down that i got the same error after changing it. I'm sure my door bas been re-engaged. Have to call them after work to do more troubleshooting. Never had an opener before. Moved to this house 4 years ago and it has the opener. I feel like the door is fully re-enaged, and that's the prob. Not sure.
How did you fix it when the emergency rope blew threw the door and pulled out to a point it wouldn't automatically reset?
Thank You!!! 🎉 Totally worked😅
I’m Having a problem that at the moment I push the down arrow to set up the closing position it blinks several times and doesn’t work.
Thank you for posting this video. It solved my issue the first time I tried. Much appreciated.❤
Yup
i think there is a way to set force without having to set the travel, it can be done by pressing the remote learn button twice
Great video , to bad you couldn't see it.
Thank you! Huge thumbs up, the manual provided the error but not a true solution and this video did. Grateful for the guidance on our 8500w.
Lol, better tutorial than liftmaster themselves put out
A high-cycle torsion spring and a DC motor belt drive opener are a match made in heaven.
Thank you sir, much appreciated.
Your welcome glad you liked it👍
Thank you you’re life saver much appreciated video
I followed these instructions and set the travel, but when the garage door runs after that it's still closing too low. The chain on the right is super tight while on the left side is very loose. Why won't it hold my settings?
So I did that and it still won’t reengage. Code 1-5 is there btw. UPDATE: it’s fixed: had to yank on the string harder. We’re good now.
It is extremely possible for it to be a bad board, travel module or several other things. This is just one of the many possible issues and the first and most common issue.
@@1stchoicedoorsllc.253 got it…had to pull the cord harder. I was too whimpy with it the first time, but didn’t want to yank it out too hard. Thanks.
Mine won’t do any of that. Only humming.
Thanks!
Great video, if you could answer me this question. Today I went to spray some lube on the chain because it was really noisy. After the lube I push the button to open and then I push the button to close and then my nightmare began. In open position when I punch button to close it goes about 6 inches and then it comes back to open position. I cannot get it to move from there. When I put the lube I did not do anything other than spray on the chain but now for some reason it’s stuck in that position when right before the lube it was working correctly. Do you happen to have a suggestion of what It can be or what I can possibly do?
As others have stated, thank you so much for this video. Helped me with my door as well.
worthless
Great video! Thanks! The unit is not turning on and wall outlet has power, I'm thinking Logic Board? Any advice on where to buy one? Thanks again!
Great video. Very clear and concise. It saved me last night.
So helpful thanks
My garage would go down to about a foot and then go back up. This video explained my problem perfectly. Now I can lie to my wife about fixing the garage myself. Subscribed.
Thank you for making this minute and a half video. Solved my problem. Not sure why other videos on the topic have to be 11 minutes. Yours is great.
Perfect!!! Thanks for your video. The Liftmaster webpage didn’t help but you sure did.
After watching a ton of videos this was perfect. Short and to the point. Worked just the same on my 2023
Where would you buy the full conversion kit, mainly the 16' torsion bar?
Thank you! This fixed the problem on an opener that has been installed for years. I tried power cycling the opener and battery backup with no luck, then stumbled upon this video as I was booking a service call.
My garagedoor has been down for probably 7 months, oiled and cleaned the wheels but sometimes just stopped before the closure of the door and errored and opened up, thank you so much for this video
Thank you so much for this video
Thank you!
Thank you! This fixed the problem and the small hook to keep the cord from swinging out and getting stuck was a great idea.
*I wished I've seen this video sooner. I ordered thicker weather strip and did the grunt work to slide out the old one and slide in a new one. And it still left gaps underneath the garage door. After learning that it's possible to adjust the limits, now the garage closes tight. I probably didn't need to replace the weather strip.*
Thank you so much! This was exactly what I needed to fix my issue!
I found a troubleshooting procedure that said the exact solution you proposed. My problem was was I didn't pull the release rope hard enough. I wouldn't suggest anyone to yank the release but if it doesn't click pull it a little harder. Thank you for your help.
Thank you.
these things are a pita, wish they just had the ones you could adjust with a screwdriver at least this video got me on the right track and can close it temporarily
Thank you! Pulled the cord until I heard the click. We are back in business!
This was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Brief, instructional, and to the point. Worked for me right away. Thank you!
100!
Double tap yellow program button twice you'll be able to reset the forces you don't have to go through the process of resetting the travel and the force.
I have this issue but when i follow the steps it goes back to doing what it was before
Would 2 207’s work? Why 2 243’s😊
Life saver. Thank you
Can you make it darker? I could still see some things you were pointing at.
I’m pressing the down arrow and it won’t go down! What should I do next?
The rectangular button is now flashing blue while trying to compete these steps. Any suggestions? I am trying to reprogram my garage door clickers after I reset the garage opener.
Thanks for taking the time to post this. Saved a lot of frustration.
