fuknwastd To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Iron Maiden. The historical content is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of history most of the songs will go over a typical listener's head. There's also Bruce's powerful vocals, which are deftly woven into the band's compositions - his personal singing style draws heavily from neoclassical operatics, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these songs, to realize that they're not just catchy- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Iron Maiden truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the power in Maiden's historical catchphrase "Up the Irons!," which itself is a cryptic reference to the medieval torture device the band takes its namesake from I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Bruce Dickinson's genius unfolds itself in their stereos. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have an Iron Maiden tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. Personally, I haven't seen the same at any Maiden show I've ever been to.....they have all had pretty solid opening acts that people anticipated greatly.
Guys... fucking chill, this is CLEARLY A JOKE. I'm probably one of the biggest Maiden fans you'll ever meet and thought this was fucking hysterical from start to finish.
+Scott Baldwin i agree, im a die hard Maiden fan and i know Henry is only joking, its a parody of how great Maiden are, this dude has done a lot for metal over the years ,last thing on his mind is disrespect for Maiden, Rollins is cool in my book and as a maiden fan this was funny!
Iron Maiden has been too big for an opening band for many years. It is unfair for the opening band, and for the fans. Maiden needs to play the 3 hour show like Floyd, Yes, Rush and the others that are way too big for an opening band!
He should try to open a metallica show. I know, I was at this festival where ghost opened for metallica and the crowd was a real bitch and ghost nearly finished its concert.
Iron Maiden wax my gateway band to metal, so the Rollins Band will always be second to them. Both, great groups. I miss Rollins Band, though their last album was pretty bad.
One thing I have noticed which is the difference between punk and metal fans is when you get to a punk gig it is pretty much packed out from the start whether the support is Jaya the Cat or Cock Sparrer. I have been to many metal gigs where some fans sit at the bar for half the gig. When I saw Killing Joke support Motley Crue there were only a handful of fans. I disagree with this I believe you should show respect for the support groups but there does appear to be a bigger drinking culture in metal and the byproduct of that is the support bands get little respect. I do not know why as support can go on to be huge and then you can say I saw them first. The last support band I saw was Royal Blood and they were excellent so I say support all the bands. I saw this ska/punk band and their opening act made a point of saying how good it was to receive the respect from the crowd as they do not always feel like this is the case. I have been in a support band so I know what it is like and that is maybe why I notice this more than the average fan would and without doubt it is more prevalent at metal gigs. Despite being more of a punk rock fan I like some metal bands and I have friends that do so I am not being contrary.
+misfit i allways had the exactly opposite feeling, the punk concerts i was visting where much more alkoholic then the metal ones. BUT they (the typical punkrock audience) do trink inside the pogo mob. i you are not full of beer and bruices after a concert is wasn´t a good one.
+Mathias Stuhl maybe it depends where your concerts are but I occasionally hang out with the metal crowd as I have friends who enjoy metal and metal fans, on average, are beer drinkers and just any beer but something called real ale. I am not saying everyone is but as an average. I am a light weight so mineral water for me. I have lived in different parts of my country so I am not even limited to one town. At university there was a social club which took in a rock club and those chaps could drink too. The opposite side of that is I have never met a punk who wishes to discuss the campaign for real ale.
+Mathias Stuhl A few bruises is fine and I received more than a few jumping across tables at Bad Religion until one collapsed but definitely no beer. In fact one of the punk clubs I go to sells a couple of different types of bottled lager at all but no beer as I remember going to see Bad Shepherds with some fans of rock music and they asked for beer and he said they do not serve it. In fact one of group left and went into town for some ale. I remember as one of the other chaps was staying at his house.
+misfit motley crew isnt really metal..i grew up in the 80s,,,the bands people call metal,i will never understand,, .i dont think you would see a morbid angel or slayer fan sitting at the bar when there on stage...

Guys... fucking chill, this is CLEARLY A JOKE.
+Scott Baldwin same!
+Scott Baldwin Agreed, most of the true Maiden fans probably get a kick out this.
exactly!
Not to mention that you're probably drinking since before the gig and the caveman in you kicks in well into the first act lol.
This is amazing. Never fails to make me laugh.
Enough talking Henry....bring out Maiden.
I saw Anthrax open up for Maiden decades ago and everyone seemed to welcome Anthrax and enjoyed their show
This is the only stand up I can watch/enjoy
Black Flag played in Portland recently, the next day Iron Maiden was in town hahaha
i love metal and Iron Maiden's music, and found this hilarious, its just comedy
He doesn't sound anything like Bruce Dickinson and Ozzy.
Sounds like Henry met Bruce and lost the battle of the egos.
But I'm sure he won the height and good haircut contests... I love Maiden and Rollins. Believe me, Henry rips on himself just as much as others.
" this mythic ball of fire, obscured by the clouds above the UK"
hilarious
I love Maiden and Rollins Band. This is great.
Iron Maiden has been too big for an opening band for many years. It is unfair for the opening band, and for the fans. Maiden needs to play the 3 hour show like Floyd, Yes, Rush and the others that are way too big for an opening band!
This is a fact.
Yes
Nobody forced them to have an opening band, so you can either listen to it or having *silence* until 22.00 when they'll show up.
Maiden say they love their fans, but won't do the long gigs.
When Maiden played here, the opening band was Anthrax. I do believe some people came for the opsning band haha
Henry's funny. He never mentions Maiden on his radio show -but boy do I ever know about The Ruts thanks to him.
haha...I was JUSTlistening to his show, Ruts played and I laughed to myself thinking about how you felt about them.
I've gathered they hail from the early 80s DC punk scene. Makes sense when you know thats the scene Henry was a part of in his youth.
He likes to play the lesser known, we should already know all about Maiden.
Ha! The Ruts.
As a devoted Iron Maiden-fan.... I laughed so hard! And I completely lost it when he did the Bruce impression ;)
***** Well, you cannot take yourself too seriously. Besides, it was a joke, so I wasn't offended. Cheers :)
"Deeda-deedadeeda-deeda-dee...we're not Iron Maaai-den...hey!"
...that's my jam right there.
man Maiiiiideen is my life but I haven’t laughed this hard in an eternity sjdjkdskksdkxj
His impression of a bruce Dickinson interview sounded more like an interview with spinal tap
sounds like every septic trying to do a uk accent, they all think we sound like fucking dick van dyke lol
@@stevebarker1302 I more mean what hes saying rather than the accent
His Bruce Dickinson impression sounds more like Nigel Tufnel.
Nigel Tufnel is an impression of Bruce Dickenson!
bergerQ68 Aw, no way dude! XD Bruce has BRAINS! Nigel's a brainless but lovable schmoe!
He should try to open a metallica show. I know, I was at this festival where ghost opened for metallica and the crowd was a real bitch and ghost nearly finished its concert.
I saw Maiden in 91, the opening band was some group hardly anyone had heard about called Anthrax.
Iron Maiden wax my gateway band to metal, so the Rollins Band will always be second to them. Both, great groups. I miss Rollins Band, though their last album was pretty bad.
I'm an Iron Maiden fan and I can confirm this. Love Henry though.
I played this on my phone while we were waiting to get into a Maiden concert in October 2022. Had a crowd around me listening to it
Haha. That’s awesome. I’m seeing Iron Maiden in June.
Are you still alive after that?😂😂😂 😂
Dickinson is a renaissance man. Untouchable in my books
This describes my teenage self to a T! Also my adult self.
He nailed it about checking the ticket over and over--every show I've ever gone to I've done that.
Someday Henry is going to ride on an airplane. Piloted by you know who.
Voldemort?

+misfit That's pretty true man.
This may sound gay , but Henry is damn handsome .
Yeah I said it .....
no regrets .....
This has to be the greatest and most funniest along with most realistic diss on a band I love so much along with its fans
Gonna need therapy after that little jaunt around Bruce's head...pure gold!
MAIDEN MAIDEN MAIDEN MAIDEN
Hahaha, complete Spinal Tap moment! :D
I'm a Maiden fan , love it ;)
Legend has it, they're still chanting "MAIDEN! MAIDEN!"
One of the best face to face story tellers alive.
I love Maiden far more than Rollins, but this was hilarious, especially the Bruce Dickinson impression.
