A lot of people prefer to go to an and aftermarket wheel but tbh I love the oem Nardi plus no airbag light and the horns works so it’s a win win for me haha
Good, in-depth video. Has a lot of tips I've seen in various other ones, like leave the nut on so you don't bash yourself in the face, grease marking for the holes, etc. I'm doing this today, I added heat shrink over the butt connectors (already took my NA wheel off) for a little extra security. Also, what led me to finally pull the trigger is this thread on miata.net, it deployed for someone who wrecked on the track forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=706532
That’s great! I’m glad the airbag actually deploys properly then which is awesome. Just make sure all connections are good and everything is safe.. it’s always sketchy re wiring an airbag but thank god there’s been no issues.. lmk how it turns out!
Diego Arias got it all installed tonight. Horn works, airbag light didn’t stay on after startup, and it didn’t explode on me :) will drive it tomorrow but looks and feels good. I got a wood one from a 2001 SE and it matches the handle and shifter from my 97 M pretty well. i.imgur.com/C6cb8Jk.jpg
I can’t even lie I have no idea man. There’s 0 light on but the only way to truly find out is getting hit which obviously no one wants to find out that way. I’ve seen online some people stating it does work but who really knows.
@@DArias Got it, here the first gen is really rare (like, 10 of them for sale in Greece) and all of them have aftermarket drift wheels. I'll just the original wheel with the airbag, I'll play it safe, thanks for letting me know though!
Cant lie sometimes OEM + is the best way to go and in this case it works so well and looks so good
Agreed a well done oem+ car you can’t beat
This is a great looking wheel for it being factory. Some car manufacturers really put some good name parts in to spice things up sometimes haha
Agreed! Lol they did it right with this
I did this to mine about 4 months ago, your video helped a lot! Thanks man
Awesome man! I’m glad it helped. One of the best oem plus mods!
FIRST! NB wheel in an NA that’s interesting I haven’t seen many people do it

I have this in mine
Great video man! Those stock 4 spoke NA wheels are blah this is much nicer
Thanks man! I hated the stock wheel lol this one feels great though

Looks great man! Nice!
Thank you!
Hey! How did you remove the NB center airbag? Love the video!!
What size bit did you end up using? Great video.
Thanks man! And tbh I’m not sure I just have a drill bit set I took a bit that was a little bigger that the points in the clock spring and sent it lol
Does Na miata 1989 come wit clock spring from factory ? Because my Na the signal doesn’t turn off automatically when turning
Tbh I’m not sure if it’s a feature on all the NA models
Hmmmm I wonder if the airbag will actually deploy god forbid! At least the pesky light is off! lol
No idea tbh lol I looked in many forums and stuff and people say the same thing that they don’t know but I hope I’ll never have to find out
Someone found out (spoiler, it works) forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=706532
@@cjd82187 Thank you!
What kind of connectors did you use? looking to do this later this week but idk what connectors to buy.
Hey what size drill bit is this? Thinking about doing this to my miata
Will the airbag work? I'm thinking of doing the same thing
