Isn't Non-Attachment a bit Extreme? Ask a Yogi!

We are here to achieve our destiny: union with God. But we've spent a long time, many incarnations in fact, pursuing the will-o-the-wisp of happiness everywhere EXCEPT in God-consciousness. The path to the Absoluteness of the Infinity of God-consciousness is directional. We've spent a long time getting to this point and while with great intensity of effort we could leap ahead, for most people, to do so is unrealistic and would likely backfire owing to subconscious resistance. God is as much with us now as ever will be. We need only improve our awareness by prayer, meditation, mindfulness, and selfless non-attachment to the things of this world and the fruits of our labors. (by Nayaswami Hriman)
