- Customs officers stop a female passenger acting nervously after a sniffer dog alerted officers to her bag. Upon inspection, the customs officers found drugs hidden in dance mat. Elsewhere, a passenger with documents on confidential flight information raises concerns for customs staff. Meanwhile, at the ports officers check no drugs or money is being smuggled in through vehicles.
At airports in England, customs agents check suspicious baggages and odd travellers to prevent illicit activity and substances from entering the UK. Officers pick out nervous passengers, and believing them to be drug mules, scan them for drugs. Sniffer dogs pick out illegal packages.

There's two things that I wish EVERY PERSON going through a customs facility would ALWAYS remember:
1. The ability to enter ANY foreign country is a PRIVILEGE NOT A RIGHT!!!!!
2. If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear. NEVER try to lie to a customs official.

Even if they’re not hiding anything. They always have a small trace of drugs on them and customs will always charge them based on that. It’s dumb. Who knows how many people filed lawsuits against them.
This airline worker with the cigs and drugs must have lost he frippin mind.
They don't charge someone who has a trace of drugs on them. Traces of drugs can come from lots of sources even if you don't use or carry them. @@ReelRonDog
@@ReelRonDog - You are totally misinformed!!! They don’t charge people for having small traces on them detected by e.g. the chromatograph (e.g. on bills of money)!!! They don’t charge people unless they find actual drugs hidden in their luggage or on/in their body. If they can’t find anything after the chromatograph machine has «sniffed» and found traces, they won’t be charged. They will search everything they have very well and possibly searching the person, including doing an X-ray, but if nothing is found, they won’t be arrested and charged. They don’t just arrest and charge people without proper evidence, that’s just how it is. Legal security… PS! It isn’t uncommon that people have trace amounts of cocaine on them, because they carry bills of cash that has either been used for snorting cocaine or have been in contact with bills that has been used for that purpose. It does not say a thing about who used the money for drug use, it could be anybody. These bills are just circulated out there and any of us may get it, something customs of course are very well informed about.

I imagine it’s probably uncomfortable to put someone through that whole process and then be wrong. I think it would cause me pretty severe embarrassment. Honestly, I was convinced they were smugglers because of their wacky behavior.
No is not true, the officers are rather disappointed when the dogs sniffs a bag or suitcase and turns out to be nothing. - That's two different angles, sorryyy

Their job is to prevent the drugs from coming in. For every person they clear there are probably 5 that make it through with drugs.

The cost to destroy illegal smokes, drugs, foods, etc. should be passed on to the person illegally bringing in to the UK.

Sadly, sniffer dog Irony was denied entry into the country when fellow sniffer dog Benedict reacted to trace amounts of cocaine in Irony's nostrils. Benedict was placed into canine protection and was entered into rehab for cocaine addiction.
Both dogs' visas were revoked

That guy went way too far with those 2 women. Ridiculous. He arrested them to justify a full body search and scan. Beyond invasive. And just because of her flip flops? Which didn’t even show but a minuscule trace transfer? Meaning it was from old sweat or tiny transfer. He was so disappointed. He should have been happy and relieved. People like that are Terrible. They relish other people’s suffering.

Honestly the only two issues I had in this video is when they seize prohibited foods that they consider a danger to their country but to travelers. It’s just foods from other cultures. And the money seizure. If there’s no traces of drugs on him and he’s carrying that much cash. Then let him be. Why punish him cause they think he’s linked to drugs. And the questions are subjective.
They are so nice in the uk with their security and police, arrest. In America they are the absolute worst.
They are often wrong and take money from innocent traveller's. The 10,000 pounds that was seized from the family going on holiday to Jamaica was bad. The first 3 folks the detained were all wrong.

Australia is super vulnerable to invasive species because they’re an isolated island with a lot of native species. The US is far less vulnerable to things like that so it’s not as strict. Coming from someone who got stopped for an apple in Australia 😂

Cigarettes are heavily taxed in the UK ..it's very expensive so people bring them back from other places to sell it

While on that subject, keep in mind laws are enacted for many reasons; if you don’t like them, feel free to attempt to change them - IF YOU’RE A CITIZEN (of a free country, that is). If you’re NOT A CITIZEN, YOU’RE WELCOME NOT TO TRAVEL THERE and be subjected to such ‘outrageous’ laws that are intended to protect that country’s citizens, agriculture, and so on.

I don’t smoke and never tried drugs but I have been through both Heathrow and Gatwick many times. And I can say I have never seen that red phone.

The two women who were accused of smuggling could have been given the X-Ray first to dispel their suspicions rather than putting them through the trouble of a strip search. Also the customs who tore the man’s car apart could have used a sniffer dog instead of wasting an hour of his time.

I have traveled to numerous countries. Expecting arriving passengers to find a red phone at an unattended desk is ridiculous, even if you do have a small sign in 18 point font. Every time I have traveled abroad, I have been required to have face-to-face contact with a customs officer, even if it was just to say "Welcome to the UK."

Anyone attempting to smuggle drugs into a country is just plain stupid in this day and age. Sniffer dogs and cameras and astute customs officers. Smugglers deserve to be caught and jailed. It is really worth the risk ? I think not. I sometimes worry that a baggage handler has slipped something into suitcase pocket.

Ever since a significant cash gift from my parents was almost seized abroad at an airport, I’ve started carrying extensive documentation with me whenever I carry cash or expensive jewellery. Sometimes people get paranoid or an ego trip and want to automatically seize large quantities of money or valuables. Definitely a headache!
