  • In Gatwick, one man is confused as to who his bags belong to. On an inbound flight from Madrid, one passenger seems to let his nerves get the better of him. And one repeat smuggler gets his memory jogged.
In Gatwick and Bristol Airports in England customs agents check baggage and travelers to uphold allowances and prevent illicit activity and substances from entering the UK.

Saying she just has £900 pounds is unfair. In many countries that's a lot of money. For example in India that translates close to 100,000 INR. So suspicion based on such things should be avoided. Also the lady was probably first time in UK and the strong accent of the officers could have been the result of her inconsistent answers.
I really love the way the officers work and are so polite even in worst case scenarios unlike many other countries but they still need to be a bit more gentle to people coming to UK for the first time specially from not so well to do countries.

I was married to a man, of course he also swetted confuiosly. He did ALWAYS sweat, even when we sat in the airplane. Since he also came from Asia, it always looked suspishysly (my language is Norwegian, not English) towards the flightattendences, towards in fact, EVERYONE ON THE AIRPORT. Even here, in Oslo, Norway, among friends and his workplace. He did suffer
rom it, but we tried to get help, it was not any help at all.
What I'm trying to say, some swet more, others less. Just due to sweat, it's nothing you can do against it. For those who sweat a lot, just let them be. They have not done anything wrong. 😢😢😢

I was nervous when I was in Customs in Brunei..even when I haven't done anything or carrying anything illegal LOL.
My friend and I travelled to Brunei for a few days for sight seeing.
I do my research about every country I plan to visit and I read a lot about Brunei and its Sharia law.
Some people get nervous about petty stuff including me as I'm a worrywart. Nothing happened at customs and they only asked one question (how long will I stay) and that's it LOL. They didn't really care as long they didn't find anything in your luggage that's prohibited. The same with Bali customs.

I was approached by the airport police in the airport in Berlin. They were polite and said they wanted to check my back pack which was carry on. I said sure. I don't think I had a choice.
(Also, I don't think it mattered if they had a search warrent or not.) They did not open the bag they just put a swap on it and waited to if it would turn up positive of which it didn't.
The check was negative because I wasn't carrying anything. But all the time while they with me they were checking my behavior probably to see if I was nervous.

The guy with the brown suitcase was stupid.
He suspected that they knew he had the marijuana. At that point he had an easy solution...
    *Declare it!*
If you declare marijuana at customs, they only confiscate it. No criminal charges. You simply lose the marijuana.
When he figured that they knew about the marijuana, if he had declared it thus voluntarily giving it up to them, he would have been fine.
It's not illegal to possess marijuana at the border. It's illegal to attempt to sneak marijuana across the border.
Sadly, his ignorance of this got this man years in prison.

How miserable it must be to be a drug mule. You go to some barely developing nation in which you have no business, stay there essentially as if you were a hostage for between a day and several weeks, all the while knowing you're taking a huge risk. Then the day comes and you sweat the whole ride to the airport, before getting onto a plane for a 10 or 12 hour flight. You sit there through that torturously long flight which is punishment itself, only to get to customs and get arrested, then locked up for 5-7 years. Your last days of freedom were likely the worst of your life up to that point, and that's just the beginning of how badly the next half decade will suck. And to think, this guy did it just to get some garbage ditch weed over there the UK. What a waste of the life he once knew.

I often wonder at the Officers handling the swabs or putting them in the machine bare handed. I mean they say the machine is highly sensitive. What if there is something on their hands from another bag or they use? Though I believe there are random drug testing. Still.

    • @maifantasia3650
      @maifantasia3650 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Or, perhaps, the film crew missed catching a clear shot of the actual scene (or, were not permitted to record the scene) of the swab and simply reshot the scene for inclusion into the programme. Not everything can be caught in the original and is often of poor quality. So, the scenes are reshot (several times) and the footage is edited into the finished product.
