They don't get this money by working, it's usually borrowed, land disputes or something that allows them to get this money.
It's a one shot opportunity for them to invest all this money into getting into another country and there's no going back because people might be looking for them.
I don't agree that what they're doing is legal or allowed, but for your white ass to call them liars is loads of ignorance. Stay ashamed of your statement just there.

Incredible! I've been immersed in immigration, customs, and border control videos for years, and it's truly fascinating to witness the inclusion of fingerprinting, especially an entire hand's prints. It's puzzling why this advanced fingerprint technology isn't more prominently featured in other videos. The intricacies of the process, particularly in the context of Express Parking, are truly eye-opening.

I can almost imagine what it feels like from both the perspective of the border patrol agent(s) and the illegal entrants. I don't think they could make such a show in the USA. The interaction between people in the US is certainly not the same, there's usually more unnecessary force / violence / profanity / racial slurs or simply rude behaviour from both the authority and the person committing a crime that it's just ends up becoming a vulgar form of "entertainment".

Comfortable? Comfortable? People who are desperate enough to leave everyone and everything they know, spend their last cent and are ready to do the most grueling work with no security and always at risk of being exploited are NOT looking for a 'comfortable life.' In some cases, it's a matter of pure survival for themselves and their families in their home country. For some of these people, they may be the only hope for their family to escape hunger and want or get an education or have enough money to escape a war zone or famine. If you are sneaking into a country instead of flying in first-class, you are not looking for 'comfort' but a chance at a decent life compared to the hell you face at home. I work with foreigners living in my country, most of them either students or professionals, and they all miss their home country, family, food, familiar people, places and things, their culture... They may know it's a huge advantage to have a European education or to live in a stable, peaceful, well-organized country, but they have made huge sacrifices (or their family has in the case of most students) for the 'opportunity.' If they could work or study at the same level in their own country, they'd be in their own country.

Took me about two months to understand the local accent compared to traditional News Reader accent since locals were/ are terrible in pronunciation and use slangs etc. Now I am a professor teaching America’s next generation. That is exactly what I think. I believe that guy was totally geuine. He'd already paid his school fees. I felt so bad for him. I'm Canadian, English is my first langauge, and I struggled to understand him. His accent is very heavy. You'd think they'd get an intervierwer with a more neautral accent.
I've heard similar stories of needing to pass French tests if you want to work in France, and people here from Canada have failed them, because Quebecois French is not the same as France French.

And often chefs like to do free work for restaurants as a trial to see if the restaurant will start the process to hire them. Working vacation or stages where you don't get payed. I know many chefs who go on vacation with no plan to change jobs. Just to have a month to learn from a great chef. No pay, nothing. If she did that she'd get free meals so wouldn't need much money. And would still need work history papers. And if staying with family there or friends then she wouldn't need money for that either. After a catastrophic accident I can't be a chef any more.. and I still bring my knives everywhere I go if I'm going to cook. There an extension of you, and no chef wants to grind and sharpen a friend's knife for an hour to be able to cook. A dull knife is a recipe for an accident at the speeds chefs works.
Chefs already have to work for free to get jobs, get constant harassment from bosses and customers.
Have irregular hours where they barely get to feel rested.
With no hint if a sleep schedule.
Most live pay cheque to pay cheque and 90% I've ever met save enough to go on vacation even if they can't afford to spend while there.. to just get a break from the chaos.
And with Australia being in the common wealth to?
      That's ridiculous,
Civid 19 has proved how badly the kitchen industry was treated, and how much they are needed.
Yet things like this make me feel that even this won't change things.
How can boarder officers have no idea about the profession she is in? And not refer to an expert?
What a shame, who knew it was prohibited to travel to the UK if your a chef in the Commonwealth.
