Austin Daniels, the easiest way to tell is by looking at the text on the dial. The 114270 36 mm will have “Explorer” at the top of the dial underneath oyster perpetual. The 214270 mark 1 and 2 will have explorer at the bottom above superlative chronometer.
Maybe a bit of unconscious bias slipping in, but I would be very nervous buying in Thailand. That said, you can just as easily get ripped off in London, but at least you can find them again. Great video 👍

The bezel numbers on the fake are too white . Obviously not Platinum filled. I just got the Seiko Prospex Okinawa Sea Grapes limited edition . Beautiful watch and very comfortable.
I don't know why but most of the fakes never nail the crown-guards properly, most of the times you can know immediately it is a fake just for the crown-guards.
What is your feedback on wearing a Rolex around Bangkok? Did you think others took your more seriously because you were wearing one? Were you ever fearful of being robbed? I’ve worn Rolexes around Bangkok including a White Gold Daytona but when going into the suburbs I would typically wrap a handkerchief over it to avoid attention.
The two tone serti dial Subs are the least bling of all the bling. Totally wearable even in casual clothing. Also can be had for a reasonable price compared to other Rolex models. Personally I would choose the Slate dial over the Champagne!👌🏼
No, it's real and legit. It's a preceramic 16710, which were never made with the engraved rehaut. Rolex started doing that with the ceramic GMTs on the 116710.

Not into at all - I go for unmolested pieces. People/companies sometimes try to "enhance" a Rolex and it's almost always a massive fail. If it's Paul Newman's Daytona engraved by his wife - forgivable. Hell, desirable! If it's a dial that Andy Warhol or Basquiat painted one drunken night - that's a cool story - I'll take it. These guys are famous? Who are they then?
There's NO FREAKIN' WAY i'd spend thousands of $ in these places in Thailand, Hong Kong and so on. Actually, I wouldn't even buy a 1k $ watch there. Stick with ADs

GMT of 0:35 is a replica, and not even a top tier one. Missing rolex writing and serial number on the inside steel ring.
