This video is overall very good, I've referred to it to setup unity on a couple windows installs, but what's missing is the Visual Studio 2022 setup from new...unfortunately VRC/Unity documentation ignores it and the Microsoft Learn article about it is contradictory and confusing. Basically just need to know what Visual Studio 2022 components are needed on a fresh install from scratch. If you could add that in your next update, this would be the ultimate one-stop shop for Unity setup! Thank you! EDIT: also that AV3Emulator has been updated to 3.3.0 but still causes problems, I've been told to ignore it; curious what your thoughts are.

whenever I enable the Avatars 3.0 Manager on the creator companion I get a pop up right before unity starts running saying the new project has compilation errors and that I need to enter safe mode (I just noticed you got the same notification on the video and I was supposed to press ignore it, thank you for the tutorial.)

Reading those errors can sometimes tell you what the issue is Id suggest clearing your console, attempting to upload, and see how many errors get outputted. Then try reading what the errors say If you get stuck, feel free to drop by my server

I click it and the buttons gray out/disable. it says building avatar on the progress bit but doesnt do anything. any help you can provide would be appreciated as ive been having problems with this for days now lol.
Check your console. That sometimes can have errors that prevent uploading Additionally check the vrcsdk and look if there are any critical errors there

you can try a few things: Try restarting your PC Wipe unity completely (including user save data) Wipe 2022 specifically and reinstall If you continue to have this issue, try contacting unity support!

If I want the model I'm uploading to work for PC and Quest so both users can see the model, how would I do so? The model I'm using came with two unity packages, a PC and a Quest unity file, and I used the PC model for this tutorial, I don't know if it would work for quest though

Hey! I just have a question, whenever I download the 22.3.6 Unity Editor, It takes forever to "Validate" my download. Ive been sitting on the download for 2 ish hours, restarted my pc and its still doing this. Do you know what the issue is?
Id recomend turning off antivirus / firewall / anything that can stop the download Sometimes stuff flags as a false positive and can prevent you from downloading
Love your vids but I gotta ask, do you know what to if your creator companion won’t open at all? Ever since I downloaded the 2022 one (the right one too), I haven’t been able to open creator companion. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Did you delete Microsoft edge? apparently VCC uses it as a dependency You can also try deleting everything to do with VCC and attempt a fresh install (your files could have gotten corrupted)

so if my avatar has one or two poiyomi shader check marks, should i uncheck them since I got the poiyomi shader file to prevent the whole thing from breaking?
im going to eventually make the quest side of this tutorial, one of my older ones might work, but there will def be visual differences since it was filmed on unity 2019

When I tried to upload my avatar I got at least 80 red hexagons with "!" in it

yup! importing 2 versions of poiyomi will 100% break your project
even poi himself recommends not including poi with avatars
